    This is so true. I was on two different classes of hypertension meds. My BP was not stabilizing at all. Instead of letting me resolve my sleep apnea issues, the doctor wanted to increase my dosage on the medication. Once I got my sleep apnea under control, I no longer required the medication. My BP is now 110/78 consistently.

    Once again, thank you for such a validating video. For a few years now, I have been putting together a spreadsheet before every annual cardiologist appointment that documents my BP taken twice a day at the same times. Without a doubt, it is sky high at his office and while getting my echo done in preparation for his appointment. On the other hand, during other times, it is borderline low, with occasional readings of 80s/50s (perilously low, in my mind); and he looks at it, smiles and does nothing. I continue to take Losartan and Metoprolol.
    The reason I see him every year is because I had valve repair surgery 11 years ago. But after all this time, the valve is still just fine, and I believed them about the BP. We're going to have to have a serious chat this month! Thanks again!!

    Low magnesium and/or potassium can cause it too, and the BP medicine can cause it to be lower, causing hypokalemia.

We did Renal Doppler test that came out to be normal. Tsh and all others you mentioned also normal. Still it's 170/90 sometimes. Could you suggest any other possibilities?

    They keep changing the level of acceptable BP. What was acceptable a decade or so ago and before, is now considered ELEVATED. Why is there a one size fits all whether you are 5 foot tall and small or 6 ft 6 and overweight? My bp tablets say don’t take potassium supplements. It worries me as my foods are containing lots of it.

    I’m taking amlodipine 5MG everyday and my bp is always stable. I think it only elevated due to stress so my doctor prescribed it to me. I hope to get off meds after the trial period as my cholesterol went up as well. Can I eat unhealthy sometimes? I’ve been eating healthy for a month now, I eat brown rice and more veges now and I lost weight. I’m just scared to eat out as it might bring sudden spike in my bp.

    Have you heard if Singulair for asthma can raise blood pressure?

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Рік тому +1

      Elevated blood pressure is not a typical side effect of Singulair, but I've heard isolated reports of people who attribute their elevated BP to initiating Singulair. There are some few studies that seem to suggest, so, but most of those studies were small and didn't control for other factors that can potentially affect BP. I guess the best way will be to work with your doc to see if they can identify some trends and patterns in your case. All the best.
