@@ToddSloanIAAN I'm going to say cause he has already reached a conclusion before the patient sits down. Like when the cops desided me X did the murder. Now just get him convicted. 💯💩🤥😷🤯😷
Unfortunately, for those w fast moving brains, waiting for slow- talkers to reach conclusions is torture and I can sympathize that Hyman knows the podcast world has limited attention span, like himself. Wish he wasn't so obvious about it!
Dr Mark, this is my first time here. Why having a guest when you interrupt and talk all the time ... rather do it then yourself, it will be less frustrating for a listener. Thank you, it is still very good info.
At 13:26 the doctor said that he tells people that he won’t treat the hypertension, but the other things that maybe causing it instead. Now, this is the kind of MD I want to see.
@@RuthLessGemini It is hypertension that is causing disease to progress, however that is not the root cause. You have to entirely change your lifestyle to reduce the BP. No refined carbohydrates, this includes alcohol and cereal and grains. You need electrolytes in the adequate amounts spread throughout the day, this includes magnesium. You also need sunlight separate from Vitamin D and Nitric Oxide production, it's necessary for healthy blood flow. Look up sulfation and EONutrition UA-cam channel. Also look up apoe4.info and the wiki and primer. A primary causal factor is insulin resistance at the organ level, this will cause your blood pressure to REMAIN CONSISTENTLY HIGH. Follow a healthy lifestyle and get your GFR level checked every 3-6 months. You can also use a blood pressure machine and check it. Alternatively there is also a UA-cam channel called "Low Carb Down Under" where doctors speak about health topics and functional medicine.
In Canada 40 years ago when I went to Dr. I would sit in exam room 15-20 minutes before my BP was taken, 40 years later BP is taken as soon as I walk in AND they want you to answer questions, and then meds are prescribed immediately. Before an exam 1st get a good sleep, 2nd no caffeine till after exam, 3rd drink water 1st thing, 4th before exam go to bathroom, 5th insist on 15 minutes alone in exam room before exam, 6th do not talk during BP test.
Good points. Also should be seated with both feet on the floor - not with legs dangling from the end of the exam table, or with your legs crossed at knee or ankle. And your arm with the blood pressure cuff should be supported at the level of your heart.
I just had a high reading at the doctors. He didn't warn me he was doing my blood pressure. (I am in France and already stressed as my French is poor) I thought he was examining my throat. So I am on a couch with a somewhat raised back, legs crossed, arm at an odd angle, feeling flustered , grouchy bossy doctor, and my heart starts racing so I can hear it, and he has the thing clamped round my arm asking me questions.... and of course my blood pressure is through the roof! I have white-coat syndrome at the best of times. He then prescfibes beta blockers and tells me to go for a blood test. He doesn't ask if I have any other meds (I don't) and he doesn't tell me to not take the meds before I get the bloodwork done. (I don't) Terrible experience. I feel stressed, upset, and generally worried. Waiting on the bloodwork. I suspect I have elevated thyroid. I am generally healthy....not fat, get exercise, don't smoke or eat junk. I no longer trust the medical profession...this 'doctor' told me to cut out salt. (That was debunked years ago). I got the impression he was looking for an excuse to prescribe something.

My grandma is 101 and has had extreme high blood pressure since the 1960’s. We have had to take her to the ER multiple times cause it goes over 200/110. I think she drinks to much coffeee some times. She still lives on her own and drives is the crazy part. We think she’s still going strong cause she’s a social butterfly
I 68 years old now, but since I turned 60 my blood pressure is being high, if I don’t take medication. I have tried diets, but don’t work. Sometimes you have to take the pill.
She is still going strong and a centenarian because of the two factors you mentioned, being a social butterfly and coffee. Coffee has been proven to extend life. Voltaire drank between 50 to 72 cups of coffee a day and he lived to 86 in an age where people died at 35 to 40 years old
Dr. Hyman will you please stop overpowering the discussion. I am trying to hear what your guest is saying. He is very knowledgeable and resonates with the topic.
My blood pressure was 220/110. And sometimes higher and was put on meds that did help lower it but I was still feeling awful. Once I changed my diet. Got off grains sugar and processed foods my blood pressure is now normal. As are all my health problems.
Different strokes for different folks. I have none of these things and my bp yesterday, was 195/106. Had the Dr freaking out and immediately putting me on a drip for 15 minutes to lower the BP. The infusion lowered the top nr by 20 points but that was all. Today it was back up. Not quite as high, but still way too high at 184/114! He gave me a pill to take. I am taking it. Usually I refuse all chemical medicines, but, he made me so scared that I'm now taking it. For 2 weeks, till my next appointment. Plus I must monitor my bp twice a day now. I know that they need to find out whats CAUSING my hbp, but that's not what they think. His answer to that was that at my age it's normal to have hbp. I'm 64, still working, walk an hour a day and am slim. I do take a medication which has what side effect....? Increasing BP! Go figure. Plus I have sleep apnea because of a severely deviated septum. I eat healthy too!
Hello Dr. Hyman, I highly appreciate that you are treating the causes of BP instead of prescribing medication with a ton of side effects. Why can't all the doctors do the same.
It's so refreshing to hear a doctor talk about treating the cause of high blood pressure rather than pushing a bunch of pills. My blood pressure has been up lately so I already know the doctor is going to prescribe increased meds, rather than see what's causing it. My husband and I are so tired of taking blood pressure meds. My poor mother, God rest her soul, was put on a battery of blood pressure meds, then water pills, then heart medications... until finally her kidneys failed. By the time I started being her advocate, the damage had already been done. Because of that, I know I have to do something different if I want to live a healty lifestyle.
Sounds like yours may be hereditary rather than something you’re not doing right. I’ve been on them for 30 years since my twenties and it’s managed, but I know I can probably make some lifestyle change to go off them. Let’s share our experiences
@@Bokgat It does run in my family, that’s why I work so hard to try and get it down and keep it down. I’m currently on a plant based diet and trying to incorporate at least 30 minutes to an hour of exercise per day, except weekends. After pushing my doctor, she finally referred me to some of Kaiser’s educational resources. Some of them have been very helpful. It has been frustrating, but I stay encouraged and hopeful. I’m tracking everything in an app called Lose It! so that has been really beneficial.
Dr Hyman, I think I speak for the majority here when I say that we all find your content (and expertise) very valuable, but please let your guests speak. This really was one of the most difficult to watch interviews, of all of the ones you have done - less than 3 minutes in and the guest is visibly getting fatigued and overpowered, and I think that many of us watching also find this pattern fatiguing. They are your "guests" for a reason and the balance needs to be very different. In many segments of your interview here, you are monologuing continuously and your guest is unable to get a word in. PLEASE consider the repeated constructive feedback you are getting from your loyal followers.
Dr Hyman you are good in yours topic but yours guestis the one invited to give more explanation. allow him to explain just let him play the guitaris invited for that it suppost to be like that
Dr Hyman just need to give a little more time for the gest to speak,,,we need both ,,to get the info across,,but it feels as if you have to talk at warp speed to get it all in,,,,
1 year ago, my stress hypertension got so bad that I was having shortness of breath (air hunger). For some reason, drinking electrolytes helped during the episodes. Hospital checked my liver, pancreas and right kidney but no meds, etc. Primary doctor just prescribed anti depression meds of which I didnt take. Later, I got bell's palsey (facial paralysis on right side of face). I felt like doctors couldn't help so I did a lot of research, decided to reduce inflammation by doing an anti-inflammatory diet and eliminate all stress. This worked for me.
None is interviewing the other! My understanding; these two gentlemen are discussing the issues of high blood pressure and what to do about it! Thanks to you Dr. George and Dr. Hyman for this interesting podcast; God bless you guys 🙏
As both a retired and disabled RN, working in the medical profession since the 1980, as well as someone who has suffered longstanding issues as mentioned, especially leaky gut, obstructive sleep apnea, PTSD etc., culminating in Adrenal Fatigue "syndrome." I also unfortunately experienced numerous surgeries procedures, starting in the 1970's and being related to menarche, menses, and the reproductive system. My research has me convinced it was born out of estrogenic factors in the universe, like floor glues from remodeling, estrogen from store bought meat after getting out of dairy farming in my adolescence. I also drank coffee from my early teens. So many toxins possible from grandfathered products as the EPA development in 1971 (I think,) under Nixon. I have undergone functional medicine testing and treatment with excellent results...when I could buy the required supplements! I have been a student of complimentary and naturopathy methods since my work as a Hospice Nurse, and have embraced the "holistic" approaches since my 5 years in the early to mid 90's. I was in my early 30's then. I have watched frustratedly all of those years as big Pharma and corporate medicine has wormed their greedy hands into every facet of "health" "care." I am now 7 years out from being medically disabled, and am frustrated and saddened by what our country, this capitalistic takeover which now threatens our democracy more than ever...I could go on. I'm old and cranky and have a huge and ever-growing, soapbox in which to get up on! I wish people could listen to something beyond the white noise they get...
You are not alone in the journey and your observations and the total lack of regard for our lived experience (especially by doctors)- I now use doctors and the system to get what I need otherwise I care for myself with diet and supplements - I would walk away from big pharma totally if not for the Aneurysm in the head! It truly is a shame how society has forgotten how to listen to their elders- orca whale pods and elephant herds do not last if not for the matriarchal grandmothers their knowledge and their selfless care ensure ALL are cared for!
It's all like that here we only get 15 mins,,how can they get any of the symptoms from that our doctors,,only use meds not ,,,its run as a buisness not symptom solving
I am 73. In my younger years I was told by my father to take a can of DDT, from the military issue and spray for ants. I can remember the smell to this day. Who knew? We sure have come a long way. In my 20"s I totally became organic anything and everything. That experience helped me a lot. To this day I am in good health, not perfect, still able to grow many of my own foods. Blessings to you and all our wonderful Angels that stand strong, You are one of them❤
After 30 years on BP medications, my BP is now normal. It happened after 3 months on a low carbohydrate diet. So in my case it looks like it was insulin resistance. Hoping it is permanent.
@@daniellei.9821 I took some supplements as well. Bad news though, my BP has crept up again in the last couple of months and I am scratching my head. Need a new idea.
I too 30+ years on BP meds, diabetic, pacemaker, sleep apnea. Diet to lose wt.(carnivore) for about 6 months. After I add supplement to clean sticky stuff off walls of blood vessels; BAM; BP goes to 110/60.
I’ve also read extensively on what causes the blood pressure issues as I have them as well. The latest I’ve read is that as we age, our coq10 levels drop and the inflammation levels rise. My latest attempt to regulate it is to take 200 mg of good quality coq10 in the morning.
I just thought it sounded like 2 colleagues having a conversation, not annoying at all! I don't like podcasts that sound like just 1 person doing all the talking like they're giving a lecture on a stage. I go to sites like that when that's what I want to hear.
Our blood pressure varies every minute. What is necessary is to learn how to keep your body balanced, eat whole foods. Stop alcohol, stop eating refined sugars. Take probiotics vit d3, vit c, natural enzymes. I am 72 and not on one medication. We can handle things naturally. I use a ring for my guide. When it slides off and on, I'm doing well. Drink lots of water, and make sure you are not retaining fluids. Too many people think it is normal to have swollen angles. If you do, you're in trouble. I know my body better than any doctor.
I take 10 to 15,000 units of D3 and K2 MK7 and ALA everyday. At 73 it has helped me survive liver cancer that ate my gallbladder. And I don't take drugs!
It is so sad to me that doctors are not being trained with a functional understanding, but rather to pour out pharmaceuticals on the symptoms. I have had 5 doctors in the past 2 years, not one has helped me with my hypertension. I figured out where I was deficient and began to learn about my genetic issues in order to supplement appropriately. Just found a functional medicine doctor, crossing fingers she is able to help me in my journey to restore my health.

I landed in the ER with a 195/113 out the blue, thankfully no heart attack and was sent home, now on BP meds 50mg and BP bounces around 119/76 - 135/85 but could test it back to back and get different numbers. My blood pressure has been this high. I eat good and I still have to take the medication. I was told at the hospital that is my anxiety, but I don’t feel anxious. As soon I get medication for my anxiety, my blood pressure goes down.
In response to the comments about dr. Hyman interrupting, it was helping me, because dr. Hyman was giving a little more in-depth point about what the other doctor was saying.
Well, be sure to pump the cuff so tight it feels like a tourniquet. That way while the patient is begging to have it released because of the pain, you can take their bp and have a reason to put them on lifetime medication. Update on this post from five months ago. While getting treatment for a UTI, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and the nurse convinced me to finally get treated. Met a nice new doctor just out of med school and I like him. I said I have had HBP for decades but did not want to be on maintenance medication. He convinced me to try meds. Taking them, they have made a big difference in how I feel. My anxiety has decreased, and I am sleeping better. Who knew? Through testing we discovered that I have some mild heart issues - due to decades of untreated HBP. But, right away, I put myself on a diet, am losing weight, am addressing my high cholesterol with diet changes, am starting to exercise, and am doing breathing exercises to help me be calmer. Have an appointment in a couple of weeks, so I hope to show the new doctor that I am now serious about my health.
@@ellanola6284 I think he may have ADHD, he doesn’t seem like a narcissist at all. Dr. Hyman seems like a nice person, but definitely interrupts way too much.
What doesnt make sense is if you exercise your systolic pressure can rise to 200 in a healthy individual and yet we are concerned about resting BP being under 130/80.
Thanks for the conversational approach. Both Host and Guest bring info to the discussion. If the host sits silent like a brick, its just a one sided lecture not discussion with more points of view and more info.
I had a heart attack Sept. 2022 losing 80% of my heart. I think I have many of the problems you spoke of in this patient you helped. My Dr. let my BP be 180/90 for 10 years & did NOTHING about it, except not believe me that it went that high almost daily. I am on 2 BP meds. now plus a "water pill" & drinking lots of water. I can't hold my urine & don't get rid of the extra water in my body without a diuretic. I feel like they are just letting me die (slowly). Before the heart attack I had an enlarged heart. I was going to 3 different Dr. & I feel like they sat back & just let this happen to me. I feel like many of these things you have been talking about is what my problem is & they just don't care enough about me to find out what the actual problem (underlying) is. I am not surprised at all that I had a heart attack with my BP being as high as it was without caring/finding out what the "real" problem was, but just treating the symptoms. If they ever did treat even the symptoms. The story is long & it went on for years. One of the Dr's. that I have now sent me home from her office with a BP of 205/105 without doing anything to bring it down. Last year (before I had the heart attack) I was on the Keto diet & I felt better than I ever have in my whole life. Now I am dizzy (I blame it onto the meds.) & fall down some. I started taking my meds one hr. apart & that has helped. I just wanted to let you know how great I think it is because you went to so much work to help this man that was having so many trouble. Sincerely, Judie
Try to see a naturopath Dr and tell him you want she helps you to replace progressively the chemical medication with natural equivalent + come Back to keto diet
I really love the explanations of functional medicine. My dad was an allopathic doctor who cared but his training lead him down a path that I later found was not truly healthy. I have tried over time to learn more about letting food me my medicine. I am currently retired, and I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, high PSA and memory issues. I am taking Lisinopril only because I have a friend who had a stroke after refusing to take their meds. I refuse statin drugs. I am still trying to control every health issue without using meds. I have been unable to find a functional medicine doctor who will accept my health insurance (Humana). So, I go to "regular" doctors so I can at least save money on blood and urine tests so I can see how I am doing. If I tell them what I am doing their response is, "Good luck with that." Thank you for what you do. I just wish I could use my health insurance to work with a doctor who could help me remove the stress from my life. I still respect what you do and appreciate you. So, keep up the good work.

At one point I was getting too much potassium. Now I have to cut back on foods with high oxalates such as spinach and almonds due to issues with kidney stones. In the past year I also had my gallbladder removed even though I wanted to keep it, and heal it. I was encouraged by multiple doctors that I did not need it, and if I did not have it removed it to lead to a worse condition. I have an enlarged prostate, which my dad and uncle both had issues with that lead them to surgically removing theirs. So far, I am trying to heal mine, but in the process am going to the bathroom every hour or two at night, and racing to the bathroom during trips. At age 82, I've spent my career in the world of improving communication. I would never want to be a guest of Mark Hyman's so-called interviews. Everyone needs to be allowed to speak from their own of reference when they give their opinion. That is the whole point of listening, something sorely missing here. Dr. Hyman has done well for healthcare with Functional Medicine in our fractured country. However he needs to speak for himself, and leave the interviewing to others who know how to interview because they are tuned in, not to mention they are the guest. It's shameful.
Sorry the problem is they are not talking what are the treatment just discussing about hypertension. I was to know the natural medicine. What do eat what to do. Thank you so much for sharing XXXX greatly appreciated XXX

Blood pressure medications all make me very ill, including feeling suicidal, etc, and not one of them reduced my BP. I found antihistamine and Vit D & K2 for me reduced my BP.
I found it seems to work for me, not even anyone else, but I’ve noticed when I take Piriton my BP goes down, not to normal rage but lower than my normal range.
Love that they are seeking the causes instead of just adding more blood pressure medicine like my doctors do. I'm basically learning this approach for myself because of that. I do wonder why he has guest on when he will not allow them to talk, but that's just me I guess. Still good information.
Its true that unless you plug the hole you cant control flooding of bathroom. I went for general check up because I was having erratic heart beats. Doctor took my BP and reading came out as 150/100. I was shocked and I was put on beta blockers straight way. It didn't improve my condition but I started to feel light headed. After a month I went for follow up and now my triglycerides were 207 and postprandial blood level was 199. I was declared diabetic . After doing some research I found that I was prediabetic . I started lifestyle changes and stopped eating meats and oils. I stopped BP medication in 10 days and it was doing anything to me. And after a month stopped fibator and diabetes drugs. I exercise for half and hour , eat time restricted meals with 12 to 15 hours of fasting. Eat lots of lentils , beans and leafy vegetables ,completely eliminated white sugar from my diet . I have not tried meat in last one month but I would like to add one or two pieces of poultry once a week . I am following a diet pattern as proposed by Dr. Valter Long. I am going for my check-ups next week . Lets see how much my biomarkers have improved . I dont feel any symptoms so far.
love this, my bp was 247/143 3 weeks ago, changed diet. I have huge fear of doctors and even taking blood pressure freaks me. The only thing that was obvious was feeling dizziness, which has subsided a lot. Cutting out alcohol was a biggie,. I follow low card slow release and use supplement wsuch as vitamin c, magnesiium, chlorella, spirulina, fresh ginger, carrots, beetroot, and see a homeopath. I was vitamin B6/c and magnesium deficient.

So many Americans have high blood pressure because life is stressful in the USA. And the government and media aren’t helping at all. My doctor prescribes BP meds but I get dizzy. I test the same in the office as I do at home. Somewhere around 145/75. I once was 208/105 about six years ago and ended up in the ER to make sure I didn’t stroke out. So now she insists on meds even though I don’t feel well on them.
I had high blood pressure. Five years ago I had a quintuple bypass and now my blood pressure is good. Maybe a little high if I watch the news lately. I take no drugs, but I use a lot of herbs and spices and I stay away from salt, because I don't do well on salt.
I have worked very hard on my blood pressure naturally. I currently have a knee problem with lots of pain. My reading that time was terrible. The nurse spent all this time asking me all these questions not giving me a moment to get ready and be calm. Then she did not give me the numbers. The doctor was adamant about medication. I refused. Most recent reading was fine
"White coat hypertension" may well be because you just drove 30 minutes through outrageous traffic, and then the tech takes the bp immediately after you walk into the treatment room with no time to sit and allow the bp to normalize. Happens every time I go to the doctor.
I did a stress test and figured out I can raise or lower my BP with either stressful thoughts or breath awareness...I've been doing research on chronic/normalized stress...my ma had 3 cerebral strokes, aspiration pneumonia, and septic shock...and discharged with a diagnosis of congestive heart failure...lifestyle uturn.

What about coq10? It also helps relax the blood vessels and is an anti-oxidant and as we age, we have less of it. How about addressing this supplement? It can lower your blood pressure as well.. This video is one of the best I’ve ever watched and I so much agree that we have to get to the root of the problem instead of throwing pills at the problem. I have to educate myself because my doctors just look at the computer, ask questions and then send in pills to the pharmacy. The state of our healthcare is deplorable.
Awesome. Following from Cameroon. I have had high blood pressure for 30 years and i am 50 years and i really need your test. I will share and have become your Everlast fan . Thank you so much 🎉❤
What is the proper arm positioning for measuring BP? I get 2 different measurements very consistently, depending on my arm position. Whilst sitting up straight, it is generally around the 120/80 if I rest my arm on the side of the couch, but if I drop my arm in a relaxed position parallel to my torso, it will rise 10 points or more on each end.
Hello Dr. Hyman, I really enjoy these podcasts. I enjoy the information that I think really needs to reach a much broader audience. I'm an RN-BSN who completed one year of NP school, but I left because I was totally disgusted with the reactive and symptom treating approach that is American healthcare. Since I found your IG/channel and functional medicine, I realized this is exactly what I want to do. I have been telling my husband for a long time I want to correct people's medical conditions with food (to the extent that it can be done). I believe there is a place for a pharmaceuticals but they absolutely should not be our first approach. I didn't know there was a "discipline" for what I was wanting to do. Thank you for using different platforms. I would really encourage you though to allow your guests to finish their sentences/thoughts before you interject. I realize at times you are explaining the medical terminology but frequently you are not. It makes the presence of a guest rather pointless in my opinion.
Thank you once again Dr Omole on UA-cam for this information. Since following you (for some years now), my kidney stage results has decrease from stage 3 to stage 1. You saved me from dialysis. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!! God Bless...
As a biostatistician I would not use a blood pressure measurement that was not taken from a 24 hour monitor. My systolic blood pressure has alway been high but I have just assumed it was due to my "white coat" anger. I would like to obtain a 24 hr. monitor or at least a way to calibrate a monitor. I am 76 and have always used tests that I pay cash for because I think my medicare doctors tests are not adequate e.g.: I have paid for insulin, LDL inflammation and calcium plaques tests , etc. As usual my doctors ignored those tests. I am required by law to have insurance and the Gov automatically deducts the cost from my social security. Usually I only see a medicare doctor at the local clinic for 10 minutes a year. Fortunately through research I have been able to solve most of my medical problems. I can think of a few instances in which my doctors have been helpful: delivering my baby, setting several broken bones at a teen and stopping me from throwing up for 2 weeks with a flu
If you don’t already have an at home BP monitor, get one. They cost between $30-$50. Medicare will reimburse for the lower priced one. Then, if your at home BP shows a significantly lower BP than at the doctor’s office, make an appointment to see either a cardiologist or a nephrologist. Either can order a 24 hour monitor. My BP at doctor’s visits were consistently 210/110. A 24 hour at home BP test showed an average of 138/78.
@@gayedawn1 In one day, my BP can vary about the same as yours. Exercise will lower BP in the long run, but not in the short run. I eat 90% plant based. The biggest drivers of high BP for me are anxiety and caffeine. It was only this week that I learned caffeine could raise my BP 25 pts in 15 minutes. Re anxiety, most every evening I do 15 minutes of intentional deep breathing with either essential oils or incense. I’m also working on meditation but it’s more a long term solution than short term. Best wishes to you.
My husband is on hbp meds since 2008 after being involved in a roll over car accident. He changed his life style, he is very active, loss weight yet bp never return to the level doctors want.

Very good points. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
I got the impression he was looking for an excuse to prescribe something.

inspirational, i was 247/143, mostly anxiety related, refused pills, changed lifestyle, and cutting out alcohol completely!
Excellent!!!
Could we listen to the guest please!!! Holy cow!
Hello Dr. Hyman, I highly appreciate that you are treating the causes of BP instead of prescribing medication with a ton of side effects. Why can't all the doctors do the same.
Partly because they don't have training in functional medicine. Partly because they are paid to prescribe profitable medication by Big Pharma.

Doctors want the quick fix as much as the patients; both will keep big Pharma very happy by selling more statins.
Your exactly right!
Sounds like yours may be hereditary rather than something you’re not doing right. I’ve been on them for 30 years since my twenties and it’s managed, but I know I can probably make some lifestyle change to go off them. Let’s share our experiences

I also unfortunately experienced numerous surgeries procedures, starting in the 1970's and being related to menarche, menses, and the reproductive system.
I have watched frustratedly all of those years as big Pharma and corporate medicine has wormed their greedy hands into every facet of "health" "care." Update on this post from five months ago.

I have been unable to find a functional medicine doctor who will accept my health insurance (Humana). So, I go to "regular" doctors so I can at least save money on blood and urine tests so I can see how I am doing. If I tell them what I am doing their response is, "Good luck with that." Dr. Hyman has done well for healthcare with Functional Medicine in our fractured country. However he needs to speak for himself, and leave the interviewing to others who know how to interview because they are tuned in, not to mention they are the guest. It's shameful.
The BEST discussion EVER on hypertension.Absolutely awesome! Thank you very much.Keep up the good work.
It would be nice to hear more from the speaker as they specialize in that specific issue
Hey, Mr/Ms Woke, "they" is plural and you are speaking about ONE person, singular. Write/speak ENGLISH, not WOKISH!!! "...he specializes..."
Sorry the problem is they are not talking what are the treatment just discussing about hypertension. I was to know the natural medicine. What do eat what to do. Thank you so much for sharing XXXX greatly appreciated XXX
This is best talk on high blood pressure.I am on meds would much prefer natural cures .I am one of those with gluten sensitivity issues .I have learned a lot .Thanks for these two amazing doctors
Amazing - thank you profoundly - this information means the world to me for my mom. I always believed there had to be an answer. Heartfelt blessings!
Blood pressure medications all make me very ill, including feeling suicidal, etc, and not one of them reduced my BP. I found antihistamine and Vit D & K2 for me reduced my BP.
I would love to know more about how you found out about antihistamine?
I found it seems to work for me, not even anyone else, but I’ve noticed when I take Piriton my BP goes down, not to normal rage but lower than my normal range.
Breathing exercise, Helped my HBP.
One of the most valuable presentations in clinical medicine. A true observance to the Hippocratic Oath
Thank Dr. Hyman! For educating us to help us with our health!
Love that they are seeking the causes instead of just adding more blood pressure medicine like my doctors do. I'm basically learning this approach for myself because of that. I do wonder why he has guest on when he will not allow them to talk, but that's just me I guess. Still good information.

@Pink Ocean Flower...Thanks..this interviewer wont let the doctor talk!!!!!
I love Everytime George comes on your podcast, yall explain things so well and help us understand the topic. Thank you , y'all rock!
I've got a very bad deviated septum, so I'm wondering about how sleep apnea (versus regular lack of sleep) causes hypertension? How does sleep-apnea cause the hypertension.. what's the mechanism?
Which magnesium do you feel is the best for high Blood Pressure and anxiety...Thank You...
This is a very important program. It's very informative, enlightening, practical and most useful to ordinary folks.
Thanks for this great video, I will use this to fine tune my health. God Bless !!
How much magnesium should a person take?
Why bother interviewing a guy if you jump over the top of everything that comes out of his mouth. The rudeness and aggression sends my b.p. up
😂😂😂🤣
Yes. 5 minutes in and I'm out.

Maybe Shannon has a $ interest in this "BS" comment everywhere? Just saying😮
This is such a timely show!! I'm so tired of being on BP meds. I've had high blood pressure since I was in high school:(. Ultra wellness center does televisits, I'm so excited!! See you soon!!
Yes...you will get off the meds by juicing..smoothies..Cheri Chalom..look up the Juice Lady..and Cherimins 70 plant based minerals and trace elements
@@timothybuckley3621 what's your favorite juice recipe? I will have to Google the plant you recommend, I've never heard of it
I sure wish I could find a functional medicine doctor who WOULD take health insurance, the M.D.'s are, in my mind, legal pharmaceutical drug pushers. I am trying to take care of my own health after going to an M.D. who wants me to be on anihypertensive meds. I don't want to do that. Plus I have a mild case of hiatal hernia. Thanks for the talk.

Thanks for this video on causes of high blood pressure.
Thanks for pointing that out. I can tell you why acceptable blood pressures have been lowered. The values have been lowered under pressure/bribes by big pharma, to increase blood pressure medication sales, based on my critical thinking. B.A. Physiology, 1988.
Dr Hyman you are great and have a lot of great things to say but please let the other person speak!
Will you please allow your guest to talk?
I'm listening to this half asleep, I've had IBD all my adult life, I have acid reflux and I stopped taking a blood pressure med weeks ago because it gave me palpitations and for the last 10 days have been monitoring my blood pressure - average 168/98. I also find that bread and flour things makes my acid worse. Oh I'm type 2 too.
WOW, I have just sat up, your conversation has just woke me up!! You have just mentioned everything I have !! Can you help. I live in Scotland, in the Borders. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You may be magnesium deficient
If you can help get sugars down ,,,its hard,,but well worth it n smooths are good not to much fruit in as its sugar,,,hope you can get a functional doc, ,,heard insulin resistance is a main thing and bread ,flour products, ect to lactose, cut out ,and fasting, helps to see if it has an effect,, ,,hope it helps this was an eye opener of a ,,I need to watch again,,
I think you're deficient in nutrients because of a "leaky" gut. Hope you can get a televisit!
Through a low carb/fasting lifestyle and wearing an appliance to bed to treat my sleep apnea, I've lowered my blood pressure meds from a high dosage of a strong med to a low dosage of 10mg of a much weaker drug (Lisinopril).
18:43 Do you think he LISTENS to his patients?

Shannon and her BS is just bull poo poo 🤑
Hi I'm Trevor from England I've been a diabetic for 16 years I've not been able to pass my medical for 6 years so I can't work so i don't have any money coming in because i can't work I'm up set because my medical system do not give this advice we only get 15 minute to talk to the doctor I'm not sure if the doctors know about diabetes i don't think so i do love my n.h.s but my blood pressure is so high that i keep ending up in hospital but thankfully I'm with dr Berry and yourself that I'm on the way to lifestyle change thank you all for your help Trevor
I wish you guys were my doctors.Thank you for the information.
⛳️My PCP and Cardiologist never discussed Insulin Resistance and Sleep Apnea that I need to look into..
Even when my inflammation marker was high to 55… my doctor told me.. “we will just monitor it.. “. Glad, I took my health in my hand and brought it down. Such a good information. I will ask my doctor to test my insulin the way it is discussed here. I am Plant Based, Whole Food… Very Clean eater.
THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT ADVICE. IVE BEEN TAKING 4 grams of TAURINE DAILY AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS 110 over 80.
SUDE EFFECTS ARE DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT IN MY WORKOUT WITH NO FATIGUE
IMPRESSIVE MOOD ENHANCER ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What about coq10? It also helps relax the blood vessels and is an anti-oxidant and as we age, we have less of it. How about addressing this supplement? It can lower your blood pressure as well..
This video is one of the best I’ve ever watched and I so much agree that we have to get to the root of the problem instead of throwing pills at the problem. I have to educate myself because my doctors just look at the computer, ask questions and then send in pills to the pharmacy. The state of our healthcare is deplorable.
Excellent easy to understand information. Shared. Thank you!
Awesome. Following from Cameroon. I have had high blood pressure for 30 years and i am 50 years and i really need your test. I will share and have become your Everlast fan . Thank you so much 🎉❤
As well the interview it a share of information between two doctors . Both are very knowledgeable people.
M
An excellent, informational video.
I will share your video with my friends who need help. Thank you, truly awesome info.
Keep ur arm at ur heart level.
@@mollydatta1016 HAHA. LIke my uncle used to reply to my complaints as a kid. "My arm hurts when I do this." "Then don't do that".
We need more people like you. That would be awesome
Silvia Ruiz Thank you ☺️
Can't even tell who's being interviewed. Stop interrupting the guest!!
Thank you once again Dr Omole on UA-cam for this information. Since following you (for some years now), my kidney stage results has decrease from stage 3 to stage 1. You saved me from dialysis. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!! God Bless...
Please! Let the guy get a word in edgeways! If you know more than he does, swap chairs!
yea I dont like intervies where the guest gets to speak less than the interviewer. let the guy talk.

Dr Hymans input is v helpful & further explains in layman's terms what is being discussed.
I am eternallyygratefulfor evetything he says.
@@talkwench340 it's more like an interrogation in the directions Hyman wants...
Have you considered neck trama for causing HBP?
@@martykerns3802 in one day my BP can vary by 30. In hospital they told me to go for a walk because BP high. When I came back my BP was higher still.
@@martykerns3802 A 24 hr monitor costs about $150. The problem is having BP monitor properly calibrated.
Very good & most valuable lesson on HBP, thank you.
My husband is on hbp meds since 2008 after being involved in a roll over car accident. He changed his life style, he is very active, loss weight yet bp never return to the level doctors want. Bp meds don't work for him . This video support my theory that something is causing it and they need to find the cause of the symptom because high BP is not a disease but a response to what is going on in the body. Dr Hyman I would like to know more about your website and to to connect with you or contact your center. Everything is well said n this video. My husband has been trying to find someone who can help him getting off those toxins.
After reading many of the comments, Im not going to listen & watch this. Thank you so much for the heads up.
I wish I knew what the real cause of HBP is.
Dr. Mark is a very knowledgeable doctor as well and capable of speaking.. great job!
Oh my goodness but it seems that Dr. Mark Hyman you’re not letting your speaker speak. She will do a special all by yourself but cutting each other off and it seems like your guest speaker does know how to back off and you just keep talking over him and that it’s good information that we don’t need it both coming from either side let’s share the information Tricia in Hawaii
This is a good Discussion on causes of High BP....... look the interaction of Dr Mark is to me Fine . ..... I think this is a nice conversation and discussion ......
17:09 I'm going to post this on Facebook because this confession and now two years in update it is sugar that greatly raises blood pressure but salt is a driver to consider as co-factor 2 when high blood pressure is already present.
I appreciate every single person that takes the time their precious time out of their day to make these UA-cam videos. It’s not as easy as it looks there’s a lot of editing that goes on and this is free intelligent advice is people that don’t appreciate things or other people that have the worst blood pressure I can guarantee it, yeah just a big full of cortisol ball getting ready to burst
I really enjoyed this video where Dr. Hyman was interviewing Dr. Hyman : let the guest talk, man.
