I think it's so great that both of you went thru this together. I to have had great success on keto and OMAD for over a year now, down 90 lbs and off meds. However the hardest part for me was the lack of encouragement from my family. They also desperately need to lose weight, but my wife thinks I'm too skinny, I'm killing myself, and I have an eating disorder. Even my local doctor and my VA doctor don't believe in keto. Only uplifting videos like this one keep me going and let me know I'm on the right track :) By the way you both look great.

@Jus- Sayin He's pointing her in another direction because humans are not carnivores. Even if you see short term gains, over time (I'd say less than 10 years) your body will start to break down because meat cannot provide all of the nutrients we need. Losing weight is not the only factor in health. As Dr. Greger says about Keto, "the goal of weight loss shouldn't be to fit into a smaller casket". I think the people that are seeing short term success on carnivore or keto have severe food allergies to some common foods and they are removing that, however, that doesn't mean that they will see long term health. If anything, humans are Starchivores. We process starches like no other creature on this planet. We start to break down carbs in our saliva via the extra copies of the AMY1 gene. Don't misunderstand, we should steer clear of processed carbs, but we should eat whole plant carbs (potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat, oats).

This was one of the best real-life, what-can-be-expected videos on Carnivore that I've seen. I so appreciate all of the data Chris gave. I'm 76 and near the end of week 8 on Carnivore. I've lost only 3 pounds but I haven't been kicking myself for not losing more. After hearing what Chris had to say, I am now fully aware that I need to work toward OMAD as well as possible longer fasts and not as much fat as I have been consuming. But I must say that from the beginning of Carnivore, I have had absolutely no cravings for any carbs at all. When on calorie-counting, Weight Watchers and Keto, I always had cravings. I am so, so appreciative of whomever the brilliant person was who hit upon Carnivore as a way of knocking out all mounting and compounding negative body conditions.

There is nothing in a purely animal based diet that will cause inflammation or autoimmune conditions. Some people can't handle egg whites very well, but the yolks are where the "meat" is at anyway. I have been just an inch away from carnivore for about a year now. I've list 160 pounds between October 2018 and September 2019, following very strict Keto, IF, ADF, and EF, and counting total carbs and keeping them under 20, then around June of 2019, I cut the carbs to five or less!
I don't really want to lose anymore weight, as I am very happy at 200 pounds standing 6'2" tall.
Monday I am going to take the plunge and five the test of the way into Carnivore!
When I started, I had HBP and T2 along with the drugs to treat them! I don't have any of those now, not the drugs that went with them!
I've watch so many of your videos and some others over the past week, but you and your husband pushed me over the cliff!

Laura, I listen to one of your other videos and all my gosh it was like hearing my own life story over and over again and yours I’ve come to the point that I don’t and we want to try carnivore salmon be looking for one of your videos that hopefully tells you how to start. Thank you for your transparency and I’m so glad that it’s been a success for you and thank you for sharing the good Times and the bad Times.

Great to listen to the journey you have both taken :) I loved what Chris said about 'being addicted to the results" That is what we all need to focus on instead of ever giving into a stupid cheat day ..I never could understand why anyone would ever cheat on themselves ...the old saying goes...'it's a dirty bird that craps in it's own nest".

You have helped me so much. I have very little weight to lose, and it is not coming off, so I am learning to be content where I am and staying carnivore. I am an addict with food and I find the absence of cravings is a joy!

Amazing story Chris. I have began researching carnivore recently and listening to this was great. I retired from the military almost two years ago, since then I gained a lot of weight. I struggle with moderation so I over eat. Hearing your journey gives me confidence that I can start the carnivore diet and get back to a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you, Chris, for sharing your weight loss journey. It will be great motivation for people who have tried losing weight on "diets". I am thankful for finding the carnivore lifestyle as well as it finally helped eliminate cravings for sugar and chips, etc. Occasionally when under lots of stress I am wanting to get some of those foods, but like you, I have been able to avoid giving in. 🎉 Congratulations Chris!

Thanks so much for sharing. I have signs of insulin resistance so I’ve been focusing on keto and exercise, IMF. I struggle sometimes with derailing myself on cheats, trying to address the emotional eating. This gives me hope I’m on the right track with carnivore or keto. You both are awesome!!

Do it man! I lost over 60 pounds in less than eight months and I wasn't really that strict with it either. Right now I am stalled out with maybe twenty more to lose but I am keeping on with it!

I was exactly where you're at. Stalled at 60lbs with 20-25 more to go. Stayed Carnivore, but went to 1 big meal a day at 5-6pm fasting before. Wasn't that hard and the final weight came off quick (2 and half weeks). Then went back to my previous 2 meal a day Carnivore schedule and have maintained that weight ever since.

@@ZekeMan62 I appreciate the input. I've been OMAD the whole time. I typically eat steak after I get off work at like 8 PM. This is a stubborn stall. I cannot envision eating less. Some serious fasts are going to have to happen. Also, I have to admit I have had some cheat days here and there and that has to end also. Fucking Waffle House or IHOP. I'm 6-2 and was 284 now I'm about 225. Shooting for 205. Not giving up !

Truly inspirational story. I too have a companion in my journey to better long term health. I’ve been on Keto for 8 months and intermittent fasting for about 3 months. Loving the results. My husband recently started Keto to loose weight, but he is talking more about how much better he feels, specially his sleep. We are considering experimenting with carnivore. Thank you for sharing your story. Your mutual support and love is transparent and inspiring. God bless your family in health, mind, and spirit.

Sara, you won't be disappointed if you go strictly carnivore. With keto, I always had cravings that seemed to always plague me. With carnivore -- just like Chris said -- you have control. It truly is amazing. Bless you, though, in whatever path you choose.

I think the good thing about carnivore is your body can use gluceogenesis from the meat and eventually you can slip into ketosis more easily when youre not eating too

My husband is not Keto and I still have to cook foods for him that I have loved like potatoes, pasta and the like. It is hard to maintain but I am finally doing it.
