I'd say Ironhide is one of those who has benefited the most in this era of Hasbro trying to consolidate names and ideas into one universal Transformers lore. My only thoughts on Energon Ironhide is how weird it is that Energon Inferno looks a lot like G1 Ironhide. While I should be the guy to say I like Energon Ironhide, to me the most prominent of Ironhide's "wilderness years" portrayals was the RID one. He was my first Ironhide and I always felt there was a definite level of inspiration for the movie alt mode coming from him as what would have been the most recent, relatively close to G1 version of him at the time the film went into production. I'd very much like to see him in that rawhide get-up again.
You know, Ironhide was going to be featured in the Transformers: Prime cartoon, but he only made into the toyline, since Dark of the Moon killed him off, leading to him to be replaced by Bulkhead in the show.

Loved this, since G1 Ironhide was one of my favorites growing up! Glad to see him finally getting covered. Hope we'll see an episode dedicated to Jazz soon, too. 😄
Could you please do the basics on Trypticon
Aka Nemezis?
Fun fact: Ironhide was used as the Japanese name for Decepticon Demolisher from Transformers Armada.
I was hoping you'd do Ironhide. I hope you do Ratchet and Jazz. Maybe Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Ironhide has always remained one of my favorite characters. even if his role in stories as well as in the Autobots ranks is generally shared with Kup, who really comes across as Ironhide 2.0 at times. Especially whenever the two interact with Optimus.
My fave is the bayverse ironhide, he is awesome, transforms into an awesome truck, and he is voiced by Wakko Warner.
Ironhide, ah yes, the Transformer that made me want to have a black 4x4, lol
If you look closely, Ironhide also appears in Bumblebee, though he doesn’t speak and is briefly seen getting into an escape pod.
I love G1 Ironhide, WFC/FOC Ironhide and loooooove the bayverse Ironhide! One of the best incarnations of the bayverse line I truly thought they got right
Please, do the basics video on able to become invisible spy-bot Mirage. Please!
Chris you really are the only one who can make energon sound interesting
Truth be told, I like Energon Ironhide, and Animated cause they’re both interesting and unique takes on a younger Ironhide. Outside of comics we don’t get to see many “younger selves” of any Transformers, Autobot or Decepticon.
Agreed, like TFA Optimus is one notable other. And Ratchet in TFA and Aligned is the inverse
my favorite 2007 transformers ironhide
Movie Ironhide has one of the few Bayformers designs I can actually tolerate. He unironically looks cool.
I like the Ironhide from the Bay movies. He looks so cool and he had so much talent. HIs death is one of the most sadest autobots deaths from all the movies. 😔😔
Bayverse were far from perfect. But Ironhide's character was absolutely perfect.
6:07 *Diamondbolt has left the chat.*
G1 Ironhide: superior
Energon Ironhide: inferior
I missed the chance to get a siege ironhide. But I managed to get my hands on the Studio series Ironhide from the Bumblebee movie. I love that toy so much. And when the new Studio series 86 ironhide comes out on store shelves, I'm not gonna miss out. Not this time.
Ironhide has been with me since I was a kid and my very first transformer and it's a genetic hand me down cuz my mother loved ironhide too before when she was a kid
Yesterday was my birthday. I will consider.this a birthday gift. Amazing video. And my favorite is the g1 style Ironhide
Happy belated Birthday.
Ironhide was a good character during the g1 lineup, I never got one as a kid because it didn't look anything like the tv show lol great video Chris
And what will you get? Masterpiece Ironhide or Siege Ironhide?
@@twistedgaming9185 I'm not sure as of yet sir or madam. Unfortunately I'm a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor and have a tight budget but I do collect on a normal basis
@@vassa1972 I only asked your opinion. You don't HAVE to get either version, just say which version (Masterpiece or Siege) is your favorite.
@@twistedgaming9185 sorry
"Yknow that transformer you like who acts like a tough guy but ends up dying in damn near every universe he's in? Meet Ironhide."
All I can ask is a "Basics on Halonix Maximus" for April Fools. It'd be absolutely perfect.
Why not a basics for Diaclone?
I swear if he does the Basics on Kiss Players on April Fools...
@@twistedgaming9185 now THAT would be cool
TwistedGaming918 or Microchange.
@@Cyclownus or both
My favorite g1 character. Thank you for this from the bottom of my heart
“Liquid Nitrogen!!!”
“KICKEEEEEEEERRRRRR”
Man, Ironhide’s death in DOTM still hurts. RIP big guy.
Yeah!! Can't wait to see him bust decepti' chops!!!😆
You forgot his appearance in the Bumblebee movie
Really?! I didn’t notice! Thanks for telling me
Me reading the comments having it be that Energon Ironhide was my first Ironhide and still my favorite: "I like my rookiehide..."
When I met Peter Cullen and told him Ironhide was my favorite character he voiced, he spoke to me in Ironhide's voice the rest of the time it was amazing to me.
Could you do a Basics for the following: Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime- The Prime who succeeded Optimus
Action Masters- Transformers without the transformation
Space Bridges- Travel between galaxies in instants
Energon- the lifeblood of cybertronians and all its variants
Humans- the fleshy pals that tag along for better or for worse
Maccadam- The oil house and its owner who spans continuities
The War- What sparked this galactic civil war.
Ironhide was my favorite character in the cartoon. I even had his toy, but rarely played with it because it was nothing like the cartoon version. I was heartbroken when he died in the movie.
"Arrrrrrnhiiiiiiide!!!"
The Bay-verse Iron Hide had so much potential, but Bay doesn't like significant character development
"Every time I look into a monitor Prime my circuits sizzle....When are we gonna start busting Deceptichops?!"
I'd say Ironhide is one of those who has benefited the most in this era of Hasbro trying to consolidate names and ideas into one universal Transformers lore.
My only thoughts on Energon Ironhide is how weird it is that Energon Inferno looks a lot like G1 Ironhide. Like sure I grew up with the Unircon Trilogy but you would be surprised how little of an impression Ironhide made, I remember Kicker more than him, when you said he had a rivalry with Scorponok I was like "whaaaat?"
Am I the only one who really like his movieverse design ?
No, I do as well.
No. It’s pretty damn good
While I should be the guy to say I like Energon Ironhide, to me the most prominent of Ironhide's "wilderness years" portrayals was the RID one. He was my first Ironhide and I always felt there was a definite level of inspiration for the movie alt mode coming from him as what would have been the most recent, relatively close to G1 version of him at the time the film went into production. I'd very much like to see him in that rawhide get-up again.
I will admit I do like movie ironhide.
You know, Ironhide was going to be featured in the Transformers: Prime cartoon, but he only made into the toyline, since Dark of the Moon killed him off, leading to him to be replaced by Bulkhead in the show.
again, PLEASE do the basics on jazz next
You forgot to mention that Live Action Ironhide was Voiced by the same Voice As Barricade, Jess Harnell
You are the Real life Vector Sigma!!!
Later when I go home after work im going to become a patreon of yours.
Excellent work as usual!!!!
Dude ironhide in the live action version looked so badass and we need to mention his BIG GUNS.
My favorite toy would have to be Masterpiece, though I have a soft spot for the 2007 movie voyager-class figure. As far as incarnation, either G1 cartoon or IDW.
I Wanted to thank you for doing this series. Because I have a few of the toys that you have done episodes on such as Acid-Storm and a few others.
I prefer Entergon and movie Ironhide, even though I've been a fan the franchise since 1984 I've never really liked this character.
Thanks man I knew you'd come through this is my favorite Autobot
BASICS ON ARCEE WHEN?!
I like the elephant Ironhide!
Who is the best veteran the Autobots have? Kup, Ironhide or Ratchet?
How about all?
YES The basics On My favorite Transformer!
"Aw, gee whiz, Prime!"
Energon Ironhide was how I was introduced to the character and was my favourite character along with Jetfire. Then the live-action movie came out. And the Ironhide in that movie became my new favourite incarnation of the character. Such an absolute badass. Kind of wish we see more of him in new TV shows
