brawn is honestly has the most funniest "out of context" scenes ever, especially the scene were optimus throw him at megatron
Lol tru
Fastball Special!
Omg you again!
I've seen you for 4 times now in this comment section
What episode was that scene again?
"After Brawn's toy was discontinued in 1996, he was phased out of both the cartoon and comics"
Please don't tell me that he was taken offline by cosmically-powered Starscream in the comics
"In the comics he was one of a group of Autobots offlined by a Decepticon-controlled copy of Optimus Prime"
Oh? Well that's a pleasant surprise.
"He was brought back to life a few years later just in time to be deactivated again by cosmically-powered Starscream"
OH COME ON!
There is no escape from Cosmic Starscream!
Brawn got killed off three times in the 80s and everyone won't shut about Cliffjumper.
I guess the Cybertronian version of the Achilles Heel would be the “Brawn Shoulder.”
Apparently in the comics the shoulder assembly seems to be a Transformers weak spot, even Megatron took heavy damage getting hit there.
@GladDestronger aren't joints in metal armor, always the weak spot.
That... actually makes sense.
@GladDestronger I remember legolas saying the same about orc armor at helms deep. As well as batman arkham knight.
I love how Brawn’s cameo in the Bumblebee movie shows him getting shot in the shoulder
That part of the movie was loaded with Easter eggs.
At least he survived that time.
@@samdalseide5060 I really wanna see him wreck decepticons like this
@@samdalseide5060😂
Noooo😭
The fact that brawn is the first autobot to die in the media, make him such a heroic autobot not gonna lie
Wasn’t Alpha Trion the first?
@@shadowjeremy3083 I don't think he actually "died" per se since he merged with Vector Sigma.
@@shadowjeremy3083 the first autobot that died was Scrounge in the Marvel comics
@@shadowjeremy3083 alpha trion didn't died but he merged with vector sigma in the series
Such heroic nonsense.
For landing and gettin’ happy with Covergirl, Brawn is awarded my most enthusiastic ATTABOY
Imagine how the rest of male Joes felt that they lost out to an alien robot.
YEEEEEEHAWWWW
Brawn is a idiot in my toy world every hates him there but there is good reason
"Alright frog stroke swim swim, swim swim swim"-one of the most unique and funniest lines ever in the rid 2001 tbh
That IDW cover of Brawn clocking Starscream is one of my favourites during the Mike Costa era of that comic.
*_Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power (1992)_*
1986: dinked in the shoulder and drops dead
2018: hit in the shoulder so hard he goes flying into a wall but a minute later is running for the escape pods no worse for wear
Brawn was always one of my favorites as a kid, loved his personality and being a pint-sized powerhouse who could manhandle even Megatron.
I'm pretty sure in one episode he even gets shot in the back of the head by Megatron's cannon and just slams into the side of a mountain and he's none the worst for wear, yet in the movie, he gets shot in the shoulder, instant death.
Megatron was holding back in the first 2 seasons but in the movies he didn't fuck around.
They had to kill him somehow, remember in the first two season both the decepticon and autobot should have died 100 times over with the same reason of death as in the movie, but because they could be sold they didnt die, only injured "flesh wound" at best, most famous example is when prime was nearly dead cause of megatron attack, he lived bitch
You can see that the shot explodes his insides and leaves an even larger hole in his back.
@@ALIEN-DUDE Naw bro, it was Hasbro that was holding back. They didn't fuck around in the movie when they needed to move a new line of toys.
“Just in time to be offlined by a cosmically powered Starscream” And another one to add to the list
I vaguely recall that being offlined by a decepticon controlled optimus prime is a recurring cause of death
Yeah it is, since the deception controlled copy of Optimus was the first story the Comic used to phase out characters whose toys were discontinued@@melonaut5778
Brawn is an underrated autobot, and he can lift! TBH, brawn needs more attention and love by Hasbro+Takara. I just hope they make a masterpiece figure of him
Brawn was the original Transformer Dwarf, everything went to his Book of Grudges.
Oh yeah, he is a bit like a sterotypical fantasy dwarf. I dig both Brawn and fantasy dwarfs, maybe it's the same qualities that makes me like both.
I was thinking while watching this if there was some (VERY) loose adaptation of Snow White where Brawn is Grumpy! 😂😜
“You Transformer Dwarves sure are a contentious people.”
“You just made an enemy for life!”
Another quick note about the ROTF version of Brawn: While he didn't appear as a robot in the film, you can still see him backing out of a trailer at the beginning of the movie in the Shanghai scene, along with Backfire, whom would be later released in the DOTM HA line; Brawn is also one of the Autobot drones that appear in the tie-in video game for ROTF.
Whoa, that was him?
Aaaawesome
Not quite.
Probably brawns based on some vehicle that was there much like stratosphere was the plane prime jumped down from to fight demolisher
"Now that,was a kick"- g1 brawn
"Brawn had a child with a human woman" is not what I was expecting to hear today
His voice actor, Kirk Baily, from the Bumblebee movie passed away earlier this year, so it's unknown if he'll appear in later films.
May he rest in peace!
R.I.P Kirk Baily
This brawn is my 3rd favourite transformer, he just looks so cool and I love the "it's not the size of dog in the fight that matters, it's the size of the fight in the dog" type of personality he has.
You know, when 3:45 rolled in, I was not looking at the video and its images (I was in another tab), so my first guess was that he was offlined by the cosmically powered Starscream, only to Chris to declare that it was the Decepticon copy of Prime, I was surprised.... only for 3:54 to come charging in to tell me that I guessed right after all 🤣🤣🤣
My favorite Brawn moment: During "The Ultimate Doom", while on Cybertron trying to save Sparkplug, him and the others come to a dead end. Brawn doesn't stop running, says "I'll get the door!" and crashes through the barrier. 🤣
I agree with you the scene when Brawn says "I'll get the Door! and Crashes through the barrier is the Best Part! The Second episode of "The Ultimate Doom".
That was one of the moments that nailed Brawn's character for me.
Makes me wonder if the creative team on Casino Royale watched that episode growing up. There’s a great bit in that movie where a bad guy parkours through a small hole above some drywall, and then James Bond just smashes through it.
Why do I have a feeling that "offlined by a Decepticon-controlled clone of Optimus Prime" is going to become the new "offlined by a cosmically-powered Starscream"?
My father had the original brawn toy. And he unintentionally started a tradition when he gave me the titans return one. Brawn holds a special place in my heart for that reason. I still have both, starting at the G1 toy as I write this.
That is similar to when my grandparents bought me Classics Ramjet and when I got the Amazon Voyager my grandma (Gramps sadly passed in 2009) saw him, smiled and said she remembers him.
Don't forget he had a brother named outback. He was my very first transformer. I got g1 brawn later on. Laserbeak was the 2nd one I got. I still have them, I'm going to leave them to my grandson.
Is it me, or does Brawn's appearance closely resemble Man at Arms from Masters of the Universe. The colors match perfectly and the shape of his helmet is spot on
He reminds me of marvels juggernaut
@@hill8852 Or giant robot Gimli from Lotr
I was looking for someone to say this! I was wondering if either or took inspiration from each other.
Though his personality is more akin to Ram-Man.
That movie version of the character looks awesome I must have missed that toy
A little fact:brawn in the 86's didn't killed by a shoulder wound,he actually got a shot in the neck,if you focus very well at his death scene
What neck?
@@ivangenov6782 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I always had a theory that he survived the shot and was tortured to death by the decepticons on the way to earth, but I guess that makes sense.
Whenever I saw the exit wound on his back, I thought the shot went in at where the neck and the shoulder met and exploded inside his chest. Not the end I'd wish for...
Actually he was shot in the heart of you pause when he is falling down the part of his torso where his spark would be has a hole in it
I lost it when I saw Brawn in the opening of the Bumblebee movie. The designs had been changed to the point you could actually recognize them at a glance. He was such a great character throughout the first two seasons. Just the fact that he was about the same size as Bumblebee but taking on much larger Decepticons and beating them says a lot to how feisty he really was.
It's a shame it took so long for one of these movies to simply have the characters be recognizable. If the Transformers had looked like that in the live action movies to start with, it would have been received better by more of the fans.
I just don't understand who these movies are made for? Why does a movie based on a children's toyline have a woman asking her son if he's...um...doing what Pee-Wee Herman got arrested for doing in public? (Don't want to use that word in case kids are reading this.) And I heard a later movie (I only saw the first two) had a character that had to carry around a card explaining "Romeo & Juliet" laws, and then Optimus Prime kills a human played by Kelsey Grammer.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of those movies.
@@KasumiKenshirou you've got a couple of inaccuracies there (for example Optimus prime never killed any humans), but I understand what you mean. I like Transformers for the media, not the scale models or toys, so I wouldn't be bothered if they stopped making those and kept up with the movies.
Awesome video on Brawn and fans online often joked about Brawn looking like Man-At-Arms from the original “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” series cuz both characters have the same colour scheme.
You're right; he kind of does. Not only the same color scheme but Brawn's head shape looks like Man-At-Arms' helmet.
@@KasumiKenshirou Yeah that too.
Can NOT unsee! 🧐🤔😱
So glad I stumbled on this channel last year truly no one else does transformers lore quite like you do. Keep it up Chris 👍
Agreed
THANKS YOU, CHRIS! Brawn is my favorite Autobot. He went out like a punk in the movie, but no other Autobot has chucked Soundwave, punched Starscream off a temple, then of all things, take Megatron's cannon AND use it on him. He's awesome!
I'm currently watching the G1 cartoon for the first time, and I want to say that it's INSANE how little love and respect Brawn gets in modern Transformers media.
He's one of the most consistent and well written characters in the entire cartoon, something very few other characters can actually claim. He also has a lot more episodes to himself compared to other characters. Brawn unironically deserves to be up there with the other G1 greats and I really hope his recent movie appearance/design overhaul and the positive reaction from fans to it show Hasbro that Brawn should be in more stuff!
Brawn was my first Transformer in 84.
I immediately broke his arm.
Wheeljack was my first Transformer. Decades later and pushing fifty, I'm still just as fond of the property :)
I just want to point out that "Bumblebee" Brawn looks a LOT like Marvel's Juggernaut.
Maybe they should “butt-heads” along with _Masters of the Universe’s_ Ram-Man.
@@foldabotZ All three of them charge head-first into each other, causing a titanic explosion and earthquake.
There´s no video of Chris McFeely without a cosmically powered Starsream
If there was a Beast Wars version of Brawn, I imagine his alt mode would be a honey badger.
I was thinking a wolverine, but still cool
@@spaghettisultan5484 they're similar animals so it would still work
Wolverine or honey badger, Brawn wouldn't give a fuck. He'd still wreck Decepticons
For some reason, his name applied to a Beast Wars rendition makes me think... great bear 🐻
Definitely Honey Badger, there both f***king crazy
Jesus, imagine getting killed by a Decepticon-controlled copy of Optimus Prime AND a cosmically powered Starscream.
Brawn really got the short end of the stick on that one, uh?
Well, atomized by Megs just to demonstrate his new powers was also bad luck.
I think I really love G1 and original RID Brawn because the first reminded me of a badass dwarf in fiction and the RID Brawn was just hilarious
He's well and truly the little giant of G1
brawn. always outmatched but always game to throw hands
gotta love a little guy who doesn't understand he's the little guy
Brawn is the first Transformer I could afford to buy as a kid in the 80s. 😎👍🏾
I didn't know Brawn appeared in so many universes, I somehow notice on Transformers Wiki!
Comically powered starscream, underbase powered starscream
Getting this nearly every video
Can't have g1 without brawn getting absolutely wrecked at least once per episode
Sadly the bumblebee movie brawn will be missed. Rest In Peace Kirk Baily
You only gave us one line for an amazing character in the one movie and managed to make everyone live brawn again like he was in the 80s
Till All Are One and Rest In Peace Kirk
You know he survived that scene right? He can later be seen taking one of those escape pods that Bumblebee and Ironhide were using.
I’m not talking about the character
I’m talking about the guy who voiced him he died a little while ago
@@Briximusprimedia Oh shoot really, I had no idea! So sorry. I didnt, know that.
His name was Kirk baily
@@BriximusprimediaThen may he Rest in Piece, he did an amazing job and managed to play a very memorable role in the G1 cartoon for fans of all generations.
I've never cared about Brawn, but this episode has definitely sold me on him. I'll have to look into picking up that studio series toy.
LOVE brawn. Always reminded me of Ben grimm from the fantastic four. My fav line from him iirc was shock wave attacking him saying "prepare for extermination" (or something) and brawn replying "prepare for a very large headache" as he attempts to hit him with a girder 😂
If Marvel and Hasbro ever get around to collablorate on a comic crossover again, they should have Brawn team up with the Thing and the X-Men’s Colossus against the Juggernaut.
owning the G1 toy in the past brought me here. watching the "Quirks & Features" guy's review of the '22 Defender, brought me back here.
I love his design!! 😎
Brawl getting with Covergirl was the most WTF moment I've ever had in a while
I guess megas xlr was right
Oh God...'A Cosmic Powered Starscream' ended another Autobots career!
The comment I was looking for
Chris: Brawn was off-lined by a deception controlled Optimus Prime.
Me: Ah he’s one of the few not taken out by…
Chris: He was reactivated again only he taken out by a cosmically powered Starscream.
Me: and there it is.
Take a drink each time a transformer is taken out by a cosmically powered starscream.
Man Kelly from Robots in disguise had such an amazing voice.
4:05 Although the Universe comic would abduct him at the last minute to have join the fight against Unicron.
He come back to life with all the autobot that die in the movie
Hey, I do feel sorry for him getting blown up by Megatron. Thanks for showing us that. So when are you gonna start doing the basics on Cybertron & the Maximals
Fantastic video! Great job!👍🙏
Brawn is such a fun little character. And I absolutely love his Bumblebee movie redesign
To be specific, Brawn's alt mode is a Suzuki Jimny SJ20, which would later be recolored into the 1986 Autobot mini-vehicle Outback.
Oh wow! I didn't know X Brawn was based on Brawn himself! He was my fav character in RiD!
Brawn was also on The Lost Light. And I believe part of the mutiny
Braden is not only my favorite Autobot but also my favorite minibot, also I like Brawn's friendship. With Windcharger they represent the most awesome autobot duo ever also Brawn is also the Autobot demolitions specialist and he is also strong, rugged, very agile and brawl is also one of the strongest and macho autobots and the quintessentinal tough-bot.brawn also loves humor and never-say-die attitude helps blister the morale of his teammates, also I like the cartoon version better than the Marvel version, also thanks for sharing Chris 👌 up the good work and have a happy Saturday.☺💪👊
Speaking of Team Charr, I really want to hear about Strika. As far as I'm aware and can remember, she's the first main female villain in the Transformers series. Obviously, Nightbird has the honor of being the first female enemy in the series, but she was just a one-off character that never appeared after her starring episode. Strika meanwhile was one of the big villians at the latter half of Beast Machines.
also, strika had sapience and intelligence. nightbird was a non-living robot built to help mankind...with...giant nunchucks...
Is Blackarachnia disqualified as the "first main female villain in Transformers" because she eventually switched sides? That would be the only reason I can think of for her not being called "first". I do agree that Strika needs to make a reappearance, though. She's been criminally underused.
@@SixshotRevan Yeah, I hesitate to qualify Blackarachnia as a full-on villain because of her eventual turncoating.
@@grandadmiralthrawn92 “turn coating”?? Why not heel/face turn? Or even anti villain?
If there's one thing I like about Team Athenia in Transformers Animated is how a few members of the team have sort of like, Cybertronian Superpowers.
Brawn - Super Strength.
Hot Shot - Fire Manipulation.
Ironhide - Retractable Armour.
Same principle with Team Chaar.
Credits to the producers with that. Good on them
Hmm and red alert can summon med tools and rodimus has arrows

Oh yeah, forgot about those two
Seeing him grab Megatron's arm cannon and blasting him with it was one of my favorite moments in the original series.
Great Stuff as always!
I like Brawn and Juggernaut (Marvel) Domehead designs its not used that often, but needs to make a comback.
Gearoid just compared him to MOTU’s Man at Arms. Cannot unsee!
The Knickerbocker thing intrigues me. Did that company have a direct relationship with Takara to see the toy first released in Japan or was Hasbro an intermediary in this exchange?
Knickerbocker made the animated lord of the rings and the hobbit toys. They’re very rare and expensive
i find it strange that this is the first time i'm hearing that a transformer had a child with a human. not sure if i missed it in another episode but this feels rather significant for a random fact
There an 80s horror movie where a nascent AI basically traps a woman in her “prototype smart home” and has his way with her, downloading himself into their cybernetic baby…. Evil Seed or Seed of Evil, something like that?
I always thought it was loosely based fanfiction of that end fight scene in Superman III taken to the next level.
@@brainlock72 I remember hearing about that movie
Monty Python: "This is an X-Brawn!"
One of my absolute favorite Autobots alongside Windcharger, I liked their friendship and how each had chances to shine individually.
Ain’t nobody calling Brawn a Robot Chicken!
He’s grown into being one of my favorite characters after writing about him for so long in my fic.
This cybertronian is the living definition of "Lol No."
Brawn was always one of my favorite autobots in g1. When he was just executed I was pretty upset. In fact that whole movie was upsetting
I knew nothing about this character, but seeing him 1-tap two different Decepticons at the same time alone tells me how strong this lad truly is.
Dang that Micheal Bay movie design Brawn is actually REALLY good.
I've never planned on contributing to the TFwiki, since I know we have TF legends like yourself on there, but I couldn't help but notice the machinations of moderator "M Sipher". I think you'd be doing the fanbase a big favour if you kindly asked him to pull that giant stick out of his ass.
Glad to see this channel still going strong. I wouldn't love TF nearly as much if it didn't have a consistent flow of enthusiasm pumped into it by its fanbase.
What’s happening on TFWiki?
To quote Pipes, "That's a bot who know's how to stand!"
imagine comic brawl's kid coming home from school and seeing his dad in the driveway and his vehicle mode I can imagine the kids saying" come on Daddy pulled that trick on me already, it's a new material or scan a new alt mode!"
Good stuff as usual Chris
Yes! Another stamp on my "cosmically-powered Starscream" bingo card!
Brawn, Ironhide, Bulhead, Hound: basically the same guy
Oh wow I had that RID Brawn and I had no idea it was supposed to be Brawn! I think I got it at a yard sale somewhere like 20 years ago. It had some cool details and engineering but the kibble was ridiculous. I'm loving the new SS Brawn right now!
Soundwave is probably like: "What is with this little dude coming after me? He can be a mile away in a fight and he will run across just to come after me."
Brawn was my very first Transformers figure ever, since it was a gift from my uncle, I always played him as the sensei or mentor of the youngest Autobots, he was always there to teach them how to fight against the Decepticons, so I took it very deep when he was killed by the Starscream and Megatron in the original movie, but when Rodimus Prime defeat Galvatron by throwing out of Unicron I said loud in my head; BRAWN THIS ONE IS FOR YOU
I honestly thought the joke about Brawn was that his name was ironic because he was not as tough as he is said to be because of his death in the 86 movie.
Brawn is my boy. He was the first and one of the few Transformers I had as a kid. I love his little tough guy persona, but I hate when they try to make him tiny. I hate that "mini-bot" is still considered a scale rule. He turns into an SUV.... he should maybe be slightly shorter than Rawhide (yeah yeah, mass shifting, etc)
.
Warpath turns into a tank, yet is counted amount the mini-bots so the classification is definitely a weird one.
He’s got John Silver energy. Also can we get a whole episode dedicated to Cosmically Powered Starscream’s victims?
It'd be easier to list 'bots that WEREN'T taken offline by Cosmically Powered Starscream.
My favorite thing about brawn is how he had several fights with Soundwave and won pretty much all of them.
Brawns appearance in bumblebee made me fall in love with the little dude all over again. I hope another cartoon will give him a chance soon.
Can't wait for the next one
One of my all time favorites.
"Taken offline by a Decepticon controlled copy of optimus prime"
Phew.
“Just in time to be offlined by a cosmically powered Starscream”

Didn't have his toy as a kid, not even a real fan, but when I saw his TR toy on the shelf I was like, "aww Brawn." Yoink. I like this little guy. And in Bumblebee I was like "It's Brawn!!" Lol
I honestly love his look in the BumbleBee movie
