Optimus Prime, Ratchet, and Bumblebee worked together with Ironhide in several films. Delivers high quality on personal favorites, fan favorites, or obscure characters. Every video gets so much love and care they are all a joy to watch.
The Countach is a great car to look at but i've heard it's not that great to drive due to cramped insides, poor rear window visibility and it's also not very fuel efficient. I think it was this review by James May: ua-cam.com/video/CQndMc4_RQU/v-deo.html

I think the Shattered Glass version of him is my favorite. A former Autobot who served as one one of the evil Optimus Prime's elite Seekers and joined the Decepticons after Seekers leader Drench got killed by the evil leader that Sideswipe thoughr was a step too far and he was later ambushed by Optimus and his Autobots and was left for dead.

Love G1 Sideswipe. Sure he’s generic as can be but just the red and looks of him is just definition of cool. He is also my favorite to play as in TF:Devastation.
RiD sideswipe has to be my favourite sideswipe, mainly because he's the first Sideswipe ive come across, and is one of the very few transformers toys i ever owned.
He definitely had one of the most unique designs in the entirety of the movies, something about having wheels for feet like roller skates is pretty cool
I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen more of that in Transformers... the only other similar case I could think of was in Beast Wars, Transmetal Megatron had the option to pop little wheels out of the bottom of his shins and use them like roller blades, but he had normal feet as well.
I kind of have nostalgia for Armada Sideswipe. He's such a dork it's great. He was kind of the Peter Parker of Transformers. Now I have a bit of a craving for Sideswipe doing the emo Peter dance.
I have my own Fanon version of Sideswipe. A former Decepticon Stunticon with black colours and red accent colours, he soon joined the Autobots after getting caught in rubble, and his teammates didn't save him. He's pretty much Armada Wheeljack, but reversed factions.

Great job, Chris. So glad you and media today are giving Sideswipe the props and recognition he deserves. As a kid growing up in the 80s, I was a big fan of Sideswipe, and couldn't understand why the writers of the cartoon series underutilized him so much. His tough and "always up for a fight" personality would've made him a popular and fun character of the series, had he been used more often. The twin brothers angle he had with Sunstreaker would've made for fun and interesting plots and storylines in the series too. The writers tragically missed out on a gem here. Again, glad he's finally getting his props now. Well deserved. Also, so glad Hasbro decided to make him red. A yellow Lamborghini would not have worked for me, lol.
G1, Movie, & WFC/FOC are my favorite Sideswipe characters w/ the kid appeal Armada & RID 2015 characters as close seconds (Michael Bell (G1), Sam Vincent (Armada), Andre Sogliuzzo (ROTF)/James Remar (DOTM), Travis Willingham (WFC/FOC), Darren Criss (RID) give off a certain aspect of "breaking rules" to define his personality)
We didn’t have a lot of money in our house when I was growing up, but my parents did the best they could. We barely had money for food or clothes, let alone a luxury like toys. We were very fortunate and grateful to have what we did. As you might have guessed, at our house, toys were not a “year round” type of thing. They were reserved strictly for Christmas or birthdays and we knew better than to ask on any other occasion. In fact, I’d never stepped foot inside a Toys “R” Us, until ‘04 when my daughter was born. So, I’ll never forget Christmas 1984, when I received “Sideswipe” as my first ever Transformer. It will always be one of my favorite Christmas memories. We returned to school (2nd grade) after Christmas break and everybody bragged about the haul of Transformers they got for Christmas. When asked, I’d brag about Sideswipe and they’d say, “WHO”, but I didn’t care. I was so proud of that gift. Every afternoon, I’d plant myself in front of the TV after school to watch the series, hoping desperately either for a storyline or just the mere mention of Sideswipe, but we both know how that turned out…lol A year later, my Dad got a promotion and things got better at home. In the years following, my collection grew, but no matter how big they were or how many TF’s I had, Sideswipe will always be my favorite, best one of them all. He was a special, VERY unexpected Christmas gift and a memory I’ll cherish for the rest of my days. As I look it back at that time of my life, we didn’t have much, but we were happy. Sorry for the long message .
Ever since I learned about the origin of the colours, I can't help but see Sideswipe as the one with the rear mounted engine and Sunstreaker as the unmodified one. Everything makes so much more sense that way!
G1 Sideswipe was used a lot in Transformers posters and media and promotional materials back in the day. He was basically the face of the Autobots when I was growing up. And I didn't even understand anything going on, I just remember the shoulder mounted canon and the fact he could fly and the red coating made him cool. And Sunstreaker too.
The yellow Sideswipe from Diaclone is Tigertrack(Transformers Masterpiece name). The red Sunstreaker is Sunburn(TF MP name). The other Sunstreaker(Diaclone) turns into Lambo Countach (police car) and is called Cordon.
You know, Transformers media would reimagine the original planned toy release colors into different characters, the red Sunstreaker became Spin-Out and the yellow Sideswipe as Tigertrack. A blue version of Sideswipe became Deep Cover, and a white version of Sunstreaker became known as Cordon.
I do find it funny that after around 2010 Hasbro realized that they had made some pretty weird naming decisions and just does everything they can to fix it after that
Thank you for this! I always appreciate the depth you go into with your videos, and Sideswipe was my favourite Transformer, so this is a special episode with me!
That piece of info about him and Sunstreaker getting color swapped is giving me a weird head cannon that involves him testing out his gadgets on Sunstreaker first, for some reason 😅. That sure was an informative video 😁👍. I'm excited to see the next popular fan requested video topic. I hope Reflector is one of them.
I had the RiD sideswipe? I didn't know he was sideswipe growing up and forgot he existed. He fit in hot wheel tracks and that made him real cool in my childhood
Good video! Glad you mentioned Sunstreaker! If we're talking about autobot brothers that didn't get the spotlight later on, its BlueStreak. Everyone knows Prowl but what happened to BlueStreak? Keep up the excellent work!
When introduced along with a whole mess of Autobots, he stood out to me and was always one of my favorites: he was hot-headed and impulsive - a trait I could identify with at the time, he had a rocketpack and could fly (before they all did), and he had pile-driver arms, meaning he had TWO special features when most Autobots had none. And on top of that, Lamborghini Countach! His robot mode also looked pretty cool with the red and black and he didn't look odd or doofy like Ironhide or Brawn.
This is one of the few transformers that I think looks leaps and bounds better in the movies than the original show(not that I think the ogs back I love him but the movie one is just so unique I havent seen anything else like him)
I would love to honestly see one about Smokescreen I remember seeing him in Transformers Prime and I've always wondered about his background and stuff too
Me: *hears revenge of the fallen* Me: THIS JAZZ COMING BACK OF THE DEAD YEAAHHH Me: *watches movies* Me: THIS MOVIE WAS TRASH THEY LEGIT JUST ADDED SIDESWIPE TO REPLACE JAZZ
When I was a kid I had the Action Master of Sideswipe; loved it. Now, years later, I have the Siege figure and love it as well. Great video as always, Chris!
Sideswipes live action toy was one of my favorites! second only to this red jet that had a wrist mounted minigun. Then I bought the newest sideswip because I love his look.
What’s interesting to me about the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker color-swap thing, is that the original colors for those Diaclone figures, Sunstreaker in red and Sideswipe in yellow, would later be used as two new Transformers: Corden and Tigertrack. I do like how forgotten concepts like that were reused for later series and such.
My favorite G1 Sideswipe moment is in the pilot mini-series of the cartoon where he and Sunstreaker save Trailbreaker and the Whitwickys from the Seekers.
Fav incarnation of Siders is honestly G1 for me. They really did try to use all his characteristics in his profile as appropriate, especially in the first season. Season 2 had him off to a good start, too, and honestly my favorite line is him telling Spike in Autobot Spike "c'mon" in the most gentle tone ever. Sideswipe's reckless, gung-ho, and a dirty fighter, but he's a sweetheart. He cares about the people he's around, and thankfully in IDW we got to see that side of him, too. Right up to his heartbreaking death.
Normally I never answer Chris' question about who was my favourite incarnation of the character because it's always the G1 version, but my favourite Sideswipe was the version of him in the Generation 2 Marvel comic
Sideswipe was more present in the first two seasons if I remember well. Sure, he was generic, but so were most Autobots, since the action usually revolved around Prime, Ironhide, Bumblebee, Wheeljack and maybe Jazz. Some were only seen in one episode (Skids). But Sideswipe was often seen, even if he didn't say much. I watched the show in French (Canada), and Sideswipe was called Frérot (Bro) because he was Sunstreaker's brother (which we barely saw either). Sunstreaker was called "Solo" for "soleil", which means "sun". "Solo" also means "alone" which goes well with his personality. A lot of Autobots had names ending in "-o". It rhymes with "Autobot", I suppose...
Awesome video! Would love to see ironhide or blur get a video too. These vids are always well researched and those are three bots that have lots of story to cover
Roll for it was my favorite episode growing up, mostly because I had the VHS for it. Sunstreaker was my first Transformer toy, so that episode, combined with their Jet Judo always was great to me. As an adult I have often wondered why he and Sunstreaker were not killed off in the movie.
The first transformer I ever wanted. Had to settle for Mirage as the shops didnt have him. Finally got SIdeswipe in the 'Siege' version. He looks even better than the original. It took 30 years, but I finally got him. :)
Seige sideswipe is great. It was one of my first transformers purchases in a long time, and now I'm collecting the other figures in the line for display. Voyager optimus and leader jetfire are damn good as well.

And I didn't even understand anything going on, I just remember the shoulder mounted canon and the fact he could fly and the red coating made him cool. And Sunstreaker too.
The versions I liked best was revenge of the fallen and the 2015 robots in disguise
When are we going to see the basics on red alert
I do find it funny that after around 2010 Hasbro realized that they had made some pretty weird naming decisions and just does everything they can to fix it after that
I loved that original sideswipe toy. One of the best looking G1 figures. They nailed both modes.
Sideways has always been a favorite and honestly was the best design in the live action movies
I always imagined Sideswipe as the older brother of the two.
Also could you do Brainstorm or Highbrow next?
A classic character, and one I do enjoy, favorites being IDW, G1, WFC/FOC, and Bayverse. Also nice finishing pun👏👏👏👍
Sunstreaker: clean
Sideswipe: *DIRTY*
I would love to see Waspinator covered. He's my favorite character from Beast Wars.
Thank you for this! I always appreciate the depth you go into with your videos, and Sideswipe was my favourite Transformer, so this is a special episode with me!
Another one of my fave Autobot "Twins"/"clones"
This is one of the few transformers that I think looks leaps and bounds better in the movies than the original show(not that I think the ogs back I love him but the movie one is just so unique I havent seen anything else like him)
I would love to honestly see one about Smokescreen I remember seeing him in Transformers Prime and I've always wondered about his background and stuff too
Well, his moto WAS "i don't break the rules, i bend them, a lot"
Me: *hears revenge of the fallen*
Me: THIS JAZZ COMING BACK OF THE DEAD YEAAHHH
Me: *watches movies*
Me: THIS MOVIE WAS TRASH THEY LEGIT JUST ADDED SIDESWIPE TO REPLACE JAZZ
Yee I am not too fond of movie Sideswipe
@@skabogatoXVIII All movie characterizations were awful, but I love Sideswipe's design. First batch of toys was great too.
@@tristanmahler4471 agree with you I actually took a blue sharpie to a legends class Sideswipe and made him Blurr
Also I think Optimus and Ironhide at the very least are pretty good characters
I was legitimately sad at his death in IDW’s comics, but it was such a sweet thing they did for him
I find it funny that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker swapped color schemes when they were imported.
My favorite sideswipe is from the movies, IDW and g1. I hope the next ep is the basics on either Megatron or tracks.
8:10,Hmmmmmmm,Reminds me RID15 Bumblebee, maybe if Aligned Continuity continued we might have seen that after RID
Always liked his G1 form and his character. Just super cool looking in robot and vehicle mode.
Love this stuff! Nothing is quite as nostalgic as the transformers. Personally I'd like to see videos on Trypticon, Silverbolt, and Rodimus Prime.
Great episode as always ! Now It all make sense with his “abilities “
It would be great if Sunstreaker comes next!
I think the most noticable change to movie Sideswipe were the wheels for legs but they were badass for the Sideways chase.
My favorite G1 Sideswipe moment is in the pilot mini-series of the cartoon where he and Sunstreaker save Trailbreaker and the Whitwickys from the Seekers.
The reason I love Sideswipe is due to his being voiced by Michael Bell.
I have waited an eternity for this
Robots in Disguise Sideswipe: cool design annoying personality
Agreed
Yeah I agree. I love the design, it was like a ninja thing. I love his head, specifically his "hair". He is literally a TransFormer Kai !
I love his design in the live action continuity, easily my favorite Autobot
If you're wondering, yes, Animated Sideswipe is a recolor of the Rodimus Prime toy if you couldn't tell from the tail fin and bow accessory.
Awesome video! Would love to see ironhide or blur get a video too. These vids are always well researched and those are three bots that have lots of story to cover
Got Ironhide for you right here! ua-cam.com/video/WP_ilKWEaSg/v-deo.html
@@ChrisMcFeelyI hope a videos about Basics On Sunstreaker will be uploaded very soon
Roll for it was my favorite episode growing up, mostly because I had the VHS for it. Sunstreaker was my first Transformer toy, so that episode, combined with their Jet Judo always was great to me. As an adult I have often wondered why he and Sunstreaker were not killed off in the movie.
Hey Chris- Just wanted to say thank you for this. It helped while working on some custom cards for the card game I made a video about. Cheers!
Omg thankyou this is the video I’ve been waiting for
I love Sideswipe, definitely one of my favorite characters! The game WFC is my favorite incarnation of the character but also love him in the movies.
