I love how the Animated version, probably unintentionally, further added to Blitzwing’s connection to the Quintessons by giving him the same face swapping thing that they do.

I liked Animated Blitzwing, mostly for the German Accent and the face changing gimmick he had. Makes me wish other toy versions of him could do that.
Did you know the German accent was actually an ad-lib by the VA in auditions? They ended up redesigning his character model because they liked it.
At least that's what i remember reading somewhere.
The Generations Thrilling 30 Blitzwing has a face changing gimmick as a reference to the Animated version.

No way, the original was the best. The one in in Animated was good and interesting, he just wasn't the same character from the original cartoon. They should have just called him something else.

My favourite part of Bumblebee was when Blitzwing suddenly switched faces, and started singing "The Itzy Bitzy Spider". He then bragged about his football coach who taught him Zone Defense.

It's really disappointing that no other media has expanded on Blitzwing after he was kicked out of the Decepticons, or expanded the possibility that he could have a redemption arc and join up with the Autobots, in both G1 and other new continuities.
Me too! It would've been so interesting.
I found only one fan project where he had a slight hint of a redemption arc. There, it climaxed with him joining the Autobots and gaining the nickname “Blitz.”
Had they only changed his red colors to purple and given him a visor then he would REALLY look like Blitzwing, but his movie counterpart still looks cool nonetheless

They could've used any other generic decepticon seeker, he didn't even sport his correct color scheme and it's unfortunate he had to die because I would've loved to see him return. Blitzwing had potential as a triple changer.
To be honest, I’ve never really had a problem with Blitzwing in the movie. I’m just kinda glad he showed up at all.
But, I think we would have fairer better with fans if he had a different name. Blitzkrieg for example.
I LOVED Blitzwing in Transformers Animated. He was hilarious. All of the Decepticons were wonderfully written in Animated.
It’s not blitzwing in my book. No triple changing ability, no purple/tan color palette, shares starscream seeker mold, and they don’t actually call him blitzwing in the movie. It’s kinda like the brawl situation in the first movie. He was named devastator in the film but we all knew he was brawl. To me, it’s just a random, un named seeker

@@thejonkler224 I agree. Blitzwing is just a placeholder name, well, sort of. He doesn't really resemble Blitzwing physically. More like an identical Starscream clone. I kinda wish they changed the color scheme to make him distinguishable from Starscream.

if Bumblebee in the movie is just one of several hundred "bees", then the movie blitzwing is just one of several "blitzwings"

With as amazing as the designs were in Bumblebee I was bummed they just made Blitz look like Starscream. I always liked him a lot as a kid. It feels out of place when everyone else's design is so good.

Animated Blitzwing will always be my favorite.
Honestly, goofy at times as Animated was. I think it really built up the character of Blitzwing more that G1 (minus the Quintesson back story) and frankly giving a triple changer multiple personalities I think is the big part of the character improvement.
Actually in a weird, likely coincidental twist of events, giving Blitzwing three spinning faces kinda connects him back to Quintessons, more specifically, iconic spinning faces of the judges.

Fun fact, the Italian dub of Transformers Animated (that sadly ended after season 2) retained Blitzwing's accent but ONLY for his hothead persona.
Blitzwing is my favorite triple changer because of the two awesome vehicle modes, and the color scheme. I wish I could like this video THREE times in honor of my Blitzwing!

I honestly think that the Blitzwing we see in the film should've been Ramjet. It's the most logical seeker to fit the description and shot role

And Blitzwing could've took shatters place in the movie if they had bothered to make him a triple changer, he would've made a good villain in my opinion

oh animated blitz wing is hands down my favourite form of him, the triple mind with the triple form just stuck so well! plus I love the episodes where the autoboots would use that mind=current form issue blitz had to make him force mode changes to hinder him.
also, please do a basics on triple changers! or perhaps the concept of multi form transformers.

To me the live action version looks a lot like ramjet... mainly due to the color scheme to begin with.

Not a dealbreaker, but I'd have to liked to see mention of Blitzwing's tendency to be used as a preliminary or placeholder name, being used for both Obsidian in Beast Machines and Shockwave in Dark of the Moon.
Crazy how his name kept being tossed around so much. Shockwave looks absolutely nothing like him.
Animated Blitzwing was so cool and unique!

They really need to bring back his split personalities.
Luckily for live action Blitzwing, he has a way to return as the writers could to adapt the drone concept for a future movie.

Bumblebee was awesome. Me and my dad went to see the early screening, and it was so awesome we want to go see it again.
The Movie Tank version of Blitzwing looks like ROTF Megatron’s alt mode
It is. It's a recolor of the current Power Series Energon Igniters Megatron with a new head.
A few fun facts about Bumblebee Movie Blitzwing:
1. He's voiced by David Sobolov, making this his fourth Transformers role. The other three are Depth Charge (Beast Wars), Brawl (2007 Movie game) and Shockwave (Transformers: Prime).
2. Sobolov is doing an attempted impression of G1 Blitzwing's voice actor: Ed Gilbert. He did this at the request of director Travis Knight.
3. He tells Bumblebee that he'll "Die screaming like (his) friends!" This is a reference to a quote that Simon Furman often used in Transformers comics.
Blitzwing has more screen time in this video than he does in the entirety of Bumblebee.

I hope they revive him somehow. Using the remains of Blitzwing, Shatter and Dropkick, so he can be a triple-changer again.
Shatter's red color and Dropkick's blue color combined would be violet, which is the perfect color for Blitzwing.
Also, he can have three personalities based on Shatter and Dropkick's traits.
Animated blitzwing is my favorite. If they took the concept of his 3 personalities, modes, and fire and ice powers and used it somewhere else, I’d be extadic. Also, his German voice and German soldier design to go with it is such a small yet cool detail.

I wonder if it was intended to be Starscream, but the writers/Director changed their mind. Not only does it look like Starscream, but Scream is who's given Bee that injury in other continuities. Maybe they decided they wanted to use him in a sequel (which hopefully we get, as Bumblebee is a shockingly good movie).
Troika S, In most other continuities Megatron causes Bee to loose his ability to speak.
I was thinking the same thing, but since Starscream appears on the Cybertron scene, maybe they just reused his model.
I think there were quite a few things the director and writer wanted to do but didn't. My guess is that the company wasn't quite sure whether or not general audiences would get the whole different continuities thing so they were told to make a couple minor concessions to hint at the bayformers plot, but at the same time the film is very obviously intended to be a reboot.
Fortunately they don't seem to have let that negatively impact on the movie at all so kudos to them.

I kinda hope if Blitzwing somehow returns in a Bumblebee sequel it's something to do with Soviet spies collecting or purchasing the remains of Blitzwing and trying to make their own Defender of The Union, as it were, and giving him his classic MiG-25 and maybe a T-72 MBT as his ground vehicle mode

Personally I always preferred Astrotrain but they were both kind of wasted in the IDW series.
I think it would’ve been an interesting choice if Bumblebee Blitzwing had actually been Starscream. I feel like Megatron, Soundwave, and Shockwave would be even more threatening and intimidating if Starscream wasn’t always around to backstab them or ruin their plans.

I remember hearing someone online share a concept for bringing blitzwing back in the next bumblebee movie, actually making him a full blown triple changer, and even incorporating the characteristics of the fan favourite animated incarnation. Where earths government would try to create their own transformer as a fail safe in case the autobots betrayed them. Using the combined remains of shatter, dropkick, and blitzwing, giving him the purple colours (because shatter and drop kick are red and blue) as well as the triple changing ability. However, the three decepticon personalities would surface in the new bot, shatter being the cold and calculating one, Blitzwings original personality becoming the hothead, and the loose cannon dropkick would become the nutcase.
This episode deserves an update.
All I want is a studio series Blitzwing. Is that to much to ask?!? ☹️

Yeah as others have stated Animated Blitzwing is awesome and is one of my favorite TF characters. That being said G1 Blitzwing has one of my favorite Transformers moments in Five Faces of Darkness where he overhears the Quintessons' plan goes to Galvatron to warn him. Galvatron is too nuts to listen so he goes to Rodimus (who does listen and take him seriously) and later on points his weapon at Galvataron.

My favorite incarnation of him was animated. You just have to feel bad for him having 3 distinct personalities.
THE triple changer for me personally. Whenever I think of the concept and characters that embody it, I would immediatly think of good old Blitzwing.
Blitzwing would already be one of the coolest characters in the franchise based on his design and his two alt-modes.
But then they had to go and give him one of the most bad*** names ever given to a Transformer, and that's saying a lot. Blitzwing. It's so fricken' cool.

I love the M.A.S.K. connection to the IDW Blitzwing, making me love both franchises even more. I'm really not sure what to do with this triple changer in my fanfiction. I don't want him to be just a goon, but I don't know what Blitzwing would want with his life. Maybe, when I flesh out a backstory I can do more.

Ohh, how I regret that I didn't pick TF Animated Blitzwing back in the day.
And as today I get to see Bumblebee film and does seeing Blitzwing; while not been Triple Changer on screen while we are getting both tank and jet versions of Blitzwing, I plan to get both of them.
To me the guy in the bumblebee movie is just a nameless seeker. If they can match shapes and names on the other bots and cons they would've been able to do it for him, so I don't consider this guy to be blitzwing

I’m going to laugh if the writers somehow decide to do a retcon and it’s revealed the Blitzwing we see in Bumblebee was just a random seeker who named himself Blitzwing and the real one arrives and is a female Decepticon voiced by Elizabeth Olsen and borrows heavily from the Animated one.

As poorly animated as "Five Faces of Darkness" is, I love the relative scope and ambition of its story. Goes for a lot of season 3, actually.

German Multi-Personality Blitzwing is an absolute joy to watch
Still I like Blitzwing G1, animated or comics. You do need a few goons, warriors or brutes on the villians team and this trippel changers fills that role well.

Yeah, he's indistinguishable from Starscream, it's quite disappointing. When I saw the trailer for the first time I thought he was Starscream until they revealed that he's Blitzwing.
78shaweyes I feel the script flat out said Decepticon seeker and that he was always meant to be. Make sense as this show as pointed out Starscream doesn’t have an unique design has it’s just gets recolored.
The Triplechanger in other media is simply Hasbro wanting to make more toys due to the smaller amount of Transformers in the film.
