Bayverse Ironhide has always been my favorite version of him. It's something about his voice, design, personality and quotes that made him my favorite character of the franchise.

They should have never killed Iron Hide. Like what is this. It didn’t make sense that he stood there too, I felt like he had a chance to move and defend himself. His personality would’ve suggested it too. But no, they killed him. They killed him.

As much as I dislike the bay verse movies, I like the idea of a pickup truck Ironhide, it just fits him more than a van does in my honest opinion
Yeah and I loved the cannons. It gives Ironhide character and it strengthens his namesake.

Movie Bayverse Ironhide just wears that name PROUDLY. It was the design that introduced me to the character as a whole. He just gives off the whole heavy assault trooper vibe with his cannons and heavy armor.
The fact that the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games are no longer available even digitally is a bloody crime against Transformers and gaming.

I absolutely love that Season 4 Animated Ironhide design, it just feels so much like Ironhide and mixes the best aspects about his character. This is something I would've loved to seen the BB movie do with it's Ironhide design but I still very much love the BB design regardless.
Honestly, I can see Animated Season 4 Ironhide as a hybrid between Bayverse Ironhide and G1 toy Ironhide.
Animated is the best series when it comes to tribute to other series with its own interpretation
BB movie needs to take more cues from the movie. Sideswipe should have wheels for feet, arm blades and an aerodynamic helmet. Ironhide should be w i d e and cannons. Mirage should also have blades.
Missed opportunity to call the last tier "Heroic Nonsense".
Great video none the less, I agree with most of the opinions you had on these characters, especially the bay and HoS Ironhide.
Honestly I was hoping for the last tier to be called “discharged from duty”.

Bayverse Ironhide was my first incarnation of the character, and he'll always be one of my favorites. Deep blue, pickup truck, awesome cannons, no fricks given. Even though those movies weren't the best, I still love their Ironhide.

Ironhide is the best character after jetfire and sadly he is a cancelled TFP character but he's cool as well in bayverse-rid 2001-energon
Would have been cool to get Jetfire, Ironhide, and maybe Jazz arrive with Ultra Magnus as a sort of mini nod to Animated but also to give some cool designs.
And the excuse behind why he wasn't in Transformers Prime, makes no sense...
They didn't want Ironhide in the film, because the kids that'd just seen him die in DoTM would've been confused. Okay, cool. Makes sense and I can get behind it.
But they go and upset that idea by having Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave, Wheeljack and Arcee in the show. Granted you can't have a Transformers show without Megatron and whatnot; but the argument doesn't work on both ends.
Plus, they were even considering adding Barricade as a mainstay character at some point. And based on how Bumblebee is like the only one without a legitimate foe, it'd make sense.n
@@Toon_Lucario when I watched Transformers Animated then TFP I honestly thought they were continuing off of the cast of Transformers Animated at the end minus Jazz.
Jetfire, Ironhide, and Hound are probably my favorite autobots.
Fun fact: Ironhide and Ratchet's Bayverse faces were actually based off their original G1 figures.

@@demonking86420 you know on their G1 toys when you transform them and they have the black seats from their original toyline? (I believe it was Diaclone) Well the black seats had weird patterns on them, and ironhide and ratchet's movie faces were based on the patterns seen on their og toys.

Beast Wars Ironhide is actually G1 Ironhide. Apparently sometime after G1, Ironhide was brought back to life and then reformatted into this design
They never really said how he got brought back, but yes, it’s G1 Ironhide brought back (He can also combine)

Intresting thing I wanna point out here. Earth mode Animated Ironhide has a reference to the G1 toy/boxart design, if you look at his head, part of his windshield is in front of his face, just like with the G1 toy where what's meant to be his head is covered up by the windshield.
When i first saw that design, I thought Ironhide all of a sudden has like a beard. But no, thats actually just his windshield darkening his face a bit.

The original concept of the Diaclone toy was that it was a transformable mech rider that a person could ride. Safe to say it did not translate well as an independently operating Transformer toy.
All of that Diaclone stuff was. They all have cockpits including the Dinobots.

The TFP concept is my favorite design.
I grew up with the Michael Bay movies, so I have to say Bay’s Ironhide is my favorite. It’s actually really weird to see a red Ironhide after seeing that one
My favorite design is transformers prime concept art. I may not be a fan of g1 ironhide but it's a good mix of bay and g1. I'd ironhide appears in the movies again they should use that concept art
Yeah, seeing Ironhide in red for the first time was the weirdest thing. I still think his cannons should become a staple if his character, alongside Sideswipe's blades (and possibly wheels) and Lockdown's gun face.

I REALLY love the TFP concept design too, woulda been real cool if he showed up with Ultra Magnus or something! WFC/FoC and Bayverse are hard runner-ups for me.

Iirc Ironhide is called Armorhide in the Japanese dub.
My favorite ironhide is the g1 cartoon ironhide, energon ironhide, dark of the moon ironhide, bumblebee movie ironhide and lastly war for cybertron ironhide! And by the way I love your outro song!

Bayverse Ironhide has to be my favourite version and favourite bayverse design except for SLS Soundwave. The pick up truck and cannons just fit him and his personality. I have it tied with Beast Wars for my number 1 Ironhide design.
The g1 van just never did it for me

One Idea I had for ironhide for knightverse ironhide is him being a money truck and having the look of his tfp design
IRONHIDE!!! I love me some Ironhide. Its such a pity he's rarely every seen nowadays in the games or cartoons due to favouritism being put on new made-up bots and ones who fill a trope.

I really like how ironhide has a very similar head to Optimus in the movies with the horn helmet things. It shows off his status and makes him more unique

maybe its just nostalgia but the canons have just become a must when it comes to ironhide for me they are just so cool and i feel like they fit the character and on top of that pickup> van alt mode all day everyday just perfect imo. theres this fan series called transformers burning fury that i think has a good rendition of ironhide with his alt mode as a ford raptor and gave him a giant minigun

Honestly, Sarah Stone's version of Ironhide from Windblade volume 1 would probably be my favorite rendition of the character. He's big, red, grumpy, and has a massive heart.

The original Ironhide toy was created to be a mech suit.
i would really like to see the bumblebee ironhide have like big cannons in his arms in the future because to me, Ironhide should be one of those characters that have a bulk to him

As someone who grew up on the Michael Bay movies, I think he looks best when the red is more of a secondary color than the main color
Ironhide is another Autobot I'm biased with. My favorite designs are Bayformer Ironhide, Animated Ironhide, TFP Ironhide, WFC Trilogy Ironhide, G1 Ironhide, RID 2001 Ironhide and Energon Ironhide.
*I honestly think out of all of them, the Bayverse Ironhide is the overall best because it looks unique and intimidating and honestly all of the Michael Bay transformers designs look better than blocky robots*

Bayverse Ironhide has one of the best designs, across all five movies.
It's up there with Tf1 Megatron, Lockdown and DoTM Optimus.
Beast Wars Ironhide is either G1 Ironhide who was upgraded into a Maximal Elder or a separate character who only shared Ironhide's name.
I can understand why Ironhide wasn’t red in the first live action movie. Iirc bay mentioned how they shot the movie on actual film and how red is much harder to capture on film especially with CGI; hence why Prime was more blue than red and Ironhide was changed to black
My personal favorite design for him is the prime ironhide design, we need that used in in a comic, cartoon or toyline

It's funny how I loved Bayverse Ironhide cos of his cannons, but have since grown more used to him relying on hand-to-hand combat instead (with his WFC/FOC depiction being my favorite).
His animated series S4 model also has a nod to the G1 toy, with the window shield visor thing covering his lower face. It's more of a reimagining tho, similar to how the prime series reimagines the designs for Transformers.
When he died in dark of the moon I almost stormed out of the theater :’(
I would love to see a Wheeljack tire list next or Nemesis prime but mostly Wheeljack and keep up the good work man love your videos
Fun Fact: On the classics Ironhide toy, it has the Oregon license plate, and Oregon is the state that I live in!

I did not expect to like the planned TFP Ironhide as much as I do now that I have found out about it! Still my #1 favorite will always be the Michael Bay Ironhide! And in black, btw. I personally don’t think the red and yellow suits him as good as the black. But it still does look good, nonetheless.

The classics toy is…rough, even on a good day, I have the Ratchet mold, and it’s bad, the legs are to stumpy, and the large chest/body just makes it worse, they also made him a deluxe class, so he and Ratchet scale REALLY weirdly even with other classics/universe figures
I did, too! I never had the Ironhide, but I _did_ have the Ratchet. In fact, it was my first Transformer!
I never did get why he turns into a van given how tough and gung-ho he is.

Okay, so the original G1 toy was thrown into the trash without explaining the context, so I will explain: the reason why Ironhide and Ratchet look the way they do is because the Season 1 cast of toys was imported from Takara’s Diaclone and Microchange toylines, which had completely different lore from the Transformers. They were either remote controlled or piloted mechas. Ironhide and Ratchet obviously have seats where someone could pilot them.

4:03 Well, in the Japanese version he was called Roadbuster, and depending on how you look at it, in a sense that's the "original" version. But I know they just couldn't use the real names due to franchising/copyright or whatever. Its pretty weird, but I just wanted to put that out there
First Transformers toy I ever had was the G1 Ratchet toy....and after seeing the robot mode, he NEVER left vehicle mode. EVER! lol
I think part of the problem with Energon Ironhide is the size of his siren and turret lights.
I think the hood up front as a blast/flash shield is a neat idea as Ironhide slides towards a heavy weapons specialty, but maybe as a secondary transformation gimmick?
I"m a little sad you left out the Cybertron Toy line one, since that's a rather unique design. The big black mack semi truck whose chest opened to reveal missiles?

In Transformers Micron Legends(Armada) Demolishor was called Ironhide. As for the G1 toy, I agree, I would be disappointed but I can't blame the toy for being different from the cartoon because the toy came first and it was suppose to be a mech suit for a microman to pilot.
