You can tell by her smile what a sweet person she is; and really, she is adorable! I enjoyed seeing her make her recipe which is completely different from mine but I may add the beets. Thanks

I am intimidated by Gefilte fish, but you make it look relatively easy, I'd love to try for myself. Thanks for sharing!

One of the nicest gefilte fish I've ever seen, a nice appetising colour. Much of it you see looks plain scary, like lumps of grey vomit or slimy cat hair-balls. If it was finer ground it wouldn't have that lumpy horror show going on. Children run a mile from the stuff LOL. I'm not Jewish but even some of my Jewish partner's family wont touch it. This could maybe change their minds. Im wondering if you make the stock first, the whole three hour thing, then gently put in the fish-dumplings five minutes from the end it would be easier to maintain that pleasant shape and integrity of the fish in the balls? I love things in aspic (gelatine), I also like the flavour profile of gefilter fish, a bit like sweet herring or '"schmaltz herring" which is brined herring. I will try and make some for my partner, see if I can change their mind. They're always telling me of the nightmares growing up as their aunties try to make them eat it. Thank-you.

There is a huge difference in taste and texture between the home-made and store-bought kind. Everyone I know loves home-made and runs from store-bought.

I was just thinking how simple and few ingriedients are used lol. You can buy gefilte-fish dumplings bottled but I'm sure home made is divine.
