A classroom in the kitchen where the next generation is not only being taught how to prepare traditional foods but the conversation being held is telling the young ones about the foods and what is expected of them and also the stories of their heritage.
We had a dear family friend for almost 30 years who was Jewish and shared many of his traditions with us and our children. We are all better for it! He was definitely a foodie and although I always cooked and had him over for dinner, I only wish I had discovered you before he passed last year so I could have made him the foods from his upbringing and culture that you so generously share with us all. Thanks to your inspiration, I will definitely be making and enjoying your recipes and appreciating their importance in honor of our friend.
I love how you prepare your food with your family. I am not from your religion but I am from Italian culture. Family values, Food and Tradition are very important in my life as well and I can see how much hard work and love you put into your cooking for your Family.
I only use sweet vadalia onions. They don't give me tears. For tomatoes, if you have them in your area, try Compari tomatoes. They are always ripe and sweet. I find them perfect to mix in dishes. It was so nice to see the generations in the kitchen. Gave me happy memories of cooking with my Mom.

It looks delicious. I have also recently learned to confit tomatoes and garlic and it's incredibly delicious. Ripe tomatoes have a smell. If you can, choose the ones who are not refrigerated as refrigeration kills the taste. Adding a little sugar to the underipe tomatoes can help bring out that ripe tomato flavour - even if they are served raw. Just cut them as desired and give them a sprinkle of regular sugar and they are much better. This is also the base for a super easy tomato salad. You slice the tomatoes, put them on a plate, sprinkle with salt and pepper, a few teaspoons sugar (taste them and see if they have gotten enough), and drizzle with olive oil. If you want you can add minced garlic to the oil. You don't need any vinegar for this recipe as you bring out the natural acidity in the tomatoes. It's incredibly easy (easy enough for kids to make) and it tastes great. If you feel like it you can add basil, thyme or another herb.
💭 Definitely going to be trying a few of these recipes. Love that there is so much Cilantro used as it is amazing at detoxing our bodies of heavy metals and so important to incorporate in our foods. 💖

You don't need any vinegar for this recipe as you bring out the natural acidity in the tomatoes.
It's incredibly easy (easy enough for kids to make) and it tastes great. If you feel like it you can add basil, thyme or another herb.
Yummmm great tip
I love your videos!! 👏🙏🎊 well done!
Thank you
💭 Definitely going to be trying a few of these recipes. Love that there is so much Cilantro used as it is amazing at detoxing our bodies of heavy metals and so important to incorporate in our foods. 💖
I am definitely going to try the lamb and potatoes dish. I did not realize it is the sweet chili sauce.
Ohhh I really enjoyed this video, thank you.
You are very welcome! Thank you for watching.
absolutely amazing what you get done!
🙌 thank you
Would love to see many more recipes from you! I love watching your channel. You didn’t post the recipe for the pepper salad. Please post more Sephardi food recipes especially salads and dips! My mouth waters as I watch and I can’t wait to make them and share them with my family. Looking forward to seeing your next video!

Wow you are a cooking machine! My mother's family are Sephardic Sicilian Jews as am I. I love your vlog. (just found it). Many of my family's recipes are similar to yours. The fish dish is totally new for me, and I will try it. I love all of the lamb recipes. We didn't eat a lot of lamb. We ate mostly vegetables, sea food, veal, and chicken. Have you ever had Pastito? Its a pasta dessert recipe. If you would like I can send the recipe. It's kosher and good for shabbat. Shalom.
Wow im impressed to see you cook do many items and the way you organized the kitchen cabinets.
Everything looks so delicious. I never put tomatoes in the refrigerator. I leave them on the counter and they sweeten naturally. This works for all kinds of tomatoes.
I have to start doing the same
I love watching your videos- seeing all the foods you make. Amazing. Blessings.
Blessings to you as well

Hi Sonya! Everything looked so delicious here!!! I loved all the recipes! A little time saving hack for the bachsh- I put all herbs and onions into the food processor! Makes prepping that meal so much easier 😊
I have tried it that way and found that my bahsh came out mushy. It wasn't a success for me.
You made me hungry with these beautiful dishes. I love all the freshness with veggies and herbs. Cheers, sonya!
Cheers 🥂
Great recipes
Sonia, all three of you, look so much alike, so beautiful. I have a tip for you..when you were chopping up the garlic for the eggplant I noticed that the cutting board was moving. If you wet a paper towel and place it under the board, it will prevent it from moving. ❤️
Love everything you are cooking!!!!
Great salad ideas. Thank you
Shalom from Alaska

Thank you Dovy
I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your beautiful family a happy and healthy New Year. Le Shana Tovah
Oh Sonya, you have outdone yourself. That food looked marvelous and my mouth was watering. You make everything look so easy, and I have made your food before and know it is great. Even your husband’s pecan pie was terrific. Thank you for sharing your methods of cooking. The eggplant cooking and noting that it will turn brown if not taken out of the skin was a wonder tip. I could watch you cook all day. Thank you, my friend.
Oh my pleasure, thank you for watching
That rice dish looks fabulous!
Oh my gosh, all of your menu looks absolutely delicious. I love and cook middle Eastern dishes a lot. You have inspired me to cook more.
Thank you.
I'm so glad!
