- Woodturning with a resin inlay, a sort of reverse inlay, where the results are revealed as the wood is turned away. This one turned out beautiful, with the combination of a fiery figured maple wood and the summer and fall colored maple leaves.

What an awesome piece of work. I would love to have that. People just don't appreciate what it takes 2 accomplish a piece like that. Even in watching your videos they think you knocked them out in a heartbeat to where as truth be told it takes you hour upon hour to complete such a beautiful piece. To quote most of the responses: "Beautiful!" The shimmer in the resin settled into patterns that come close to the veining in real leaves. What a lovely 'accident'! I want to try this. I'll have to buy a bowl, carve out the inlay by hand, pour the resin and then finish by hand but I look forward to the attempt!

That is so beautiful. Not just the coloring of the wood itself, but the resin as well. The green one almost looks as if there's a 'back line' (or whatever that part of leaf's called) to it. ....... Any chance that future work with resin inlay will include Celtic knot work?

That Celtic knotwork is an excellent pattern and beautiful in itself but boy it's a brain plug. Even if you were to familiarize it it would be so easy to wind up in the wrong direction

Yeah Celtic knotwork is a challenge but not impossible (well for someone experienced ;) I still have trouble coloring in the lines lol) . I've enjoyed watching some great artists carve Celtic knotwork here on UA-cam.

Wow, that is beautiful! I was holding my breath at the end, afraid to watch as the wood got thinner and thinner. You made a stained glass effect on the wood, amazing! Lathe work looks easy but you have to plan it all out ahead and be skilled at measuring. Great job!
