Your truck looks awesome. The Tacoma is by far the best looking pickup
Tacoma’s look good but by far not the best looking pickup. A L5P looks way better
Nice review. Honest, straightforward and informative. Well done.
Great info. Going with 275/65/18 with a zero offset wheel. Do not want to cut up my truck and want zero rubbing issues. Seems like 285 on up runs into the rubbing issues.
The bigger tires not only gives lower gas milage it changes the true speedometer reading traveling down the the road, also with any lift done to a truck will give a stiffer ride & depending on the height of a lift will change the angle of the driveline that will cause premature wearing on the Ujoints.
I think you need a car, 4x4 trucks are for off-roading, and you need a minimum of 33”s to affectively off road, plus any thing smaller, especially when tires are inside the fender looks like a body builder who’s been slipping out on leg day
Nice setup, love the cement color. I’ve heard people say the air damn improves MPG. This is total nonsense. It doesn’t improve aerodynamics, it creates drag. Also, if you are using your truck’s computer to compute MPG, be sure to manually compensate for your larger tires. There is about a 6% error. You are now traveling further than your truck knows.
Rims and tires look awesome bro! Huge difference! The largest tire size that can go on a tacoma at stock height is 265/70R17
Nice set up!
Hey bro keep making videos and posting!! Well spoken and good content!!!
Thank you man!
Looks sharp 👍🏼
Nice setup. Thanks for the info.
Cool vid man. I have a new Taco and was looking at the exact same set up you have, but looking at the bronze colored wheels. Your vid really helped.
Glad I could help!
Truck looks awesome, would look even better with 33”s
Dude that what I wrote to him don’t be doing no girly 31-32 and spacer worst dam advice to all us Tacoma owner…I told him I’m running 305/70/17 3in icon fully CVC tune more power and better gearing…for 33s go with 285 or 295…dude doing lame videos I ever seen bug the shit outta me
Don’t watch them then lol
@@oogmusic1643 a classic response from the owner of a financed pavement princess driver. Never the less, that’s a sweet looking truck and Tacomas are the best !
I don't think your mileage dropped as much as you think. With the bigger tires your odometer will read less than than actual distance traveled. Thanks for the vid and nice truck.
You sold me!!!
i got the same set up lmao i love tacommmmaaaaa love my wildpeakssss 275 abbbyyy
Change out the gears and your performance problems will go away. Did this to my 14 Tacoma with 6" lift and 33s and could not believe how this woke up my truck.
good vid man! i have a 2017 sport, a Eibach Pro lift, about 2.5 up front, and a 1.5 inch block in rear, and your truck looks just as tall as mine. I need to upgrade tires to a 32 as well, i dont want to do a CMC.
Why not? Takes 2 hours, super easy, no structural loss
Looks great. What difference in overall height clearance for the truck?
Kept mine stock. Maybe get inch tire bigger with 2 inch lift.
GET IT TUNE
Great info 👍 this is exactly what I was looking for on the tire dimensions.
But I also wanted to know what's your opinion on comfort and ride quality since you did the spacer? I'm thinking about doing the same and possibly using a diff drop so there can be less stress on the axles.
Let ne know.
Generally speaking, the sport version has a stiffer ride and the spacers did not help. I’m planning on upgrading and getting a lift suspension kit to have a smoother ride.
Awesome👏🏼
could you put 275s on a standard rim? I have a 2inch lift limited wheel 18 inch rims
Nice video. I wish there were more 275/ or 285/ size choices in a 31" -32" tire. I have a 2021 TRD 4x4 Offroad.
What are talking about that doesn’t make any sense 31 and 32 will be 31-32 I don’t think you understand what size is…lol if I was you run 285/70/17 with no rubbing that would be perfect for your truck watch 88rotor they explain and show different size for all Tacoma…I’m running 305/70/17 basically that 34s…you need 33s be perfect why run girly tires 31 or 32 and have a trd off-roading truck don’t make sense bro
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 I understand tire sizes and yes I watch 88Rotors a lot. I'm wanting a wider offroad tire for my Tacoma, not necessarily a taller tire. Along with a 2" level kit up front. I have another older truck that I'm running 35's on with a 6" lift.
@@BrianF.1969 lol Mybad bro I’m reading my writing doesn’t even make sense 🤣 I like watching 88rotor…there videos help a lot understanding different lifts and tires…I heard spacer but there bad and good about them…I feel it unsafe for normal trailing…I wanted 35 but decided on 34 with little mod on it…but running 35 on 2in you definitely gonna have to do cmc and pitch weld, I’m just saying if you go that route…what kind of lift you running tho?
I did a 3.5 inch on my just to give it enough clearance.
@@BrianF.1969 I want wider tires too, when I bought my rims I should of got it in different offset. But I was still understanding about offset and stuff…But the truck will definitely look nice if it stick out little bit be more, aggressive stance…You got IG I wanna see your truck what it look like, I got my own Tacoma group if you wanna follow us…
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 No problem. I did'nt say but my other truck with the 6" lift is 2000 Chevy Silverado and not a Tacoma. I am considering the 285/70/17's for the Tacoma though. That or a 285/75/16. With the right rim and the white letters facing outside I think the 16's look better at times and I wouldn't go the spacer route if I went that size. I also have a 2011 Silverado with 2" spacers up front and a taller block in the rear and it's been good but I wouldn't go no more than 2" as I have heard the same as going to high with spacers can be bad. Sorry I don't have IG or FB.
Are you running a 2” lift in front and a 1” on back or just the front?
If I put 285/70 R 17 tires, what do I need to do to lift it, will I have a problem in the future with the transmission because I put some big 2020 Toyota Tacoma off road 4x4 tires?????
17 stock ?
My Tacoma came with 16 inch rims
Why did you remove the front mud flaps ?
Are you running wheel spacers? Great looking rig 👍🏻
Thanks! I am not running wheel spacers
I don’t know if it’s just me or do the 2nd gens have a bigger wheel well
NICE look!! so u didnt do a lift kit? the shocks n springs front n rear r stock?
did you not watch the whole video? your question was answered in the video. leveling kit.
@@awyand got it. didnt understand. new to me Tnx
no problem, wanted to make sure you got your answer. the options with this stuff is endless.
A V8 in a Tacoma?!
They took out the V8 in the new Tundra... next Tacoma will have a 4cy Turbo Desiel.
Bro this tires and wheels are nice ..but the side types brooo?
Truck looks amazing. I have a stock 21 TRD Off-Road. It has 275/70R16s. I plan to put the TRD lift (2 inch front and 1 inch rear). Can I step up to the 17 inch 275/70R17?
If you go forward with that lift kit factory installed, I would recommend you research what people near you are paying and call around to different dealerships for labor bids. Two dealerships in the same city quoted me $800 difference.
Yes, I have a 2/1 level kit. I run 33x12.5 with no issues, very minor trimming
@@phantom_hen thanks for the info. I’m considering this. Are you saying different Toyota dealerships? Or can other dealers install the TRD Lift kit?
@@kevinhahn22 toyota dealerships
Seen some dudes fit 33s on a non lifted Taco. They just had to trim some plastic off. But I’m still torn between 32s and 33s
From what I’ve seen on YT, 33s will rub on the cab mount if you have no lift.
@@oogmusic1643 I’m going to play it safe and run 32s as well. Your taco is looking good 🤙
I did had a question. You removed your front air dam. Was it rubbing?
Must have 3” lift and cmc to run 33”s with certain wheel offset
@@titirititiri6360 I have 2” level kit with 33x12.5, did some very minor trimming, even have the mud flaps on, no issues
Where do you get the spacer from
What lift height? Sick ride
Do u have a level kit on it ?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm 6in lift on 33's supercharged and get 10 mpg, and IDGF, im smoking HOT!
6” lift, probably looks awesome!
To bad you cannot go off-roading now
Where did you get your lift from
How’s your alignment bro??
What made you get the off-road rather than the pro
I went with the TRD Sport rather than the Pro because of pricing!
My new 2021 Tacoma Crew Cab 4x4
Off Road with Manual Transmission was
$56k out the door.
Including the
$4,000 MSRP Market Pricr Mark Up
From Toyota Dealers due to chip shortage and market demand.
The TRD pro was around $65k
No need to the extra TRD pro stuff if you're going to ad aftermarket accessories. You'll save $10k-$20k going with the Off Road
@@D_Cali_Life 56k that’s crazy at the Toyota where I live they are 39k
@@D_Cali_Life I got 2021 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 off road for 46k 2 weeks ago love it so much
@@D_Cali_Life My 21' Sport 4x4 dblc sb was only 36k. No way in hell I'd pay 56k for a TRD OR. I can put a much better suspension on my Sport for $1400, my skids cost $600 for the full set, and tires are 1k. Still sitting below $40k for a truck that is more capable, and looks better, than a stock OR. That dealer flat out rapped you with no lube
Toyota will not put V8 in the taco. There's a shop that does hilux swap if you got deep pockets.
how wide are your wheels?
F-250s are easy on the eyes as well.
Yes they are, they look great, it’s sad they are ranked 8th for reliability and have a low resale value. Go with tundra
Unless you adjust your speedo, your mpg/mph will now be inaccurate. I run 33s w a 2.5 in lift and avg 15 city and 17 Hwy as long as i dont run over 75ish mph.
Wheels offset?
How has the ride quality been with the lift and tires? I could care less about mpg, but I’m worried about it being too bumpy and the power loss
@@sethforte1 it rides like a truck, but it's not terrible at all. And as far as power loss, neglible.
V8 on Tacoma? 😂 with fuel prices now? 😂
Looks sharp but that's a really solid hit to the fuel economy.
I'd make the investment to regear my diffs before I made myself a victim of fashion.
Toyota shit the bed with the 3rd gen, I can hardly wait to sell my Taco.
I miss my old Ranger FX4.
Hurry on down to Ford pal. I’m sure they would love to have your taco. Just give it to them for what you owe just to get out from under the POS
@@reecec8490 Tacoma is number one in sales for midsized, number one in reliability, number one in resale and one is the number one choice for serious off roaders
This color lunar rock or cement?
Cement
How much did you lift in the back?
1 inch
I've been struggling to decide if I need a lift or not. From my understanding, your truck is not lifted, right? I would like to upgrade the tires to 32s like yours.
Run 33s my advice best perfect size on your truck so basically 285/70/17 with no rubbing or lift but it will lift your tire tho with that size…never run 31-32 like him girly…I run 305/70/17 icon 3 inch lift with a CVC tune more power and better gearing…please please don’t put no spacer worst thing to put stress on your truck, cheap and bad
Watch the entire video
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 I’m not a fan of block lifts, however, rather you extended the eye to eye of the strut with extended springs or a block is still the same, the eye to eye is extended, both out equal stain on stock uca, lca and cv’s, only bad thing about block lift is that you will now bottom out on shock in lieu of bump stop in front, if you do go with block in front you need to get taller bump stops and possibly limiting straps if using blocks over stock struts
V8 would be nice
💪👍🇵🇷☝️
What lift height is it?
was answered in the video. 2 inch front/1 inch rear leveling kit.
Bro you doing spacer too you going wrong direction not good for your truck too much stress on it…and with baby tires…not good advice bro…I’m running icon 3 inch lift with 305/70/17 gas and gear lagging can be fix with tune Ov tune or my boy own CvC tune…for no rubbing the best you can go is 285/70/17…your truck is a beast make it a beast…get real suspension lift don’t be cheap on something like that…you might go with ridgeline what you doing…nice video tho you need to watch R4T or last line of defense or Tacoma beast you’ll learn a lot from them…
Can you sent it to me cuz my family really need a truck
lose the grill
