TRD Caps for Method NV Wheels:
In this video, we show what's the biggest size tire that will fit on a stock 3rd gen Tacoma with very minor modification. With the suspension completely stock, the biggest tire size that will fit is a 33" tire or 285/70/17 equivalent. This can be done with very minor trimming of the front fender liner and rear fender flare.
If you do NOT want to do any trimming at all, then you can go with a 32" tire or 275/70/17 equivalent. The wheels we used are Method NVs in a 17" size with an offset of 0. The tires used are a BFG KO2 in a size 285/75/17.

The way he cut that liner gave me anxiety
seems like the open hole is a good candidate for water/rust?
"Now what you're going to do here is pull this utility knife as hard as you can toward your face."
The rim/tire combination gave me more anxiety…..the whole thing looks like a disaster waiting to happen!
So if you drive straight on a perfectly flat road, you won’t rub.
LOL. Talk about chopping your shit up because you don't want to accept you need a lift and bigger arms if you want bigger wheels.
Any flex at all And this dude is having a bad day
Great looking truck.your wheels nice am contemplating lift etc . Gd info
PatTheRiot i would consider the biggest tire size without a lift without any body chopping or anything else. At that point just lift it. Now if you lift it and you want bigger tires, that’s when you can do mods to the body or get an off-road bumper but do the damn lift first lol
As soon as he’s driving on any road, smooth or not, shits going south on the first turn
If you just put studded 33's on it, the studs will trim any plastic for you over about 3000 miles 🙃
2” bigger tire is only 1” worth of lift. Tires are round.
But doesn’t it still look two inches taller when you see the entire tire? It’s what the eye sees.
@@boblafountaine9560 no, it’s only one inch tire like the nice man said. It’s 1” taller on either side of the wheel’s centerline. If the hub mounted to the tread then it would be 2”, but it mounts to the center so it’s only half.
One thing he neglected to mention was changing the size from a 16-in to a 17-in wheel as well as the increase of tire.
@@noisysounds4420 doesn't make ay difference. outer diameter is the same. math is hard...
@@mattgill69 it's not hard just involves a lot of variables that affect the look and ride. 🤷
Interesting take on an upgrade with minimal modification. Had me sketched out with that box cutter though 😳 eesh
Fail. Summary: Your new tire doesn’t fit stock and no lift setup.
K
@Jacques do you even know how to do any of this..? I doubt it so don't act like you know what your talking about. Or how to be a decent human being for that matter.
@@tiffanylarcade9275 he's right, guy. tire doesn't fit. any degree of variation would cause contact doesn't even have to be off roading. could be going in and out of a driveway or over a pothole. there is not enough clearance.
Wait until you have some suspension compression while turning and see if that little notch helps keep it from rubbing.
you all probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Keegan Moshe it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account !
@Lian Zayne No problem =)
Great math. Tire is 2.5" bigger than stock, so that gives you 2.5" extra ground clearance. I'll give you a hint, circles don't work like that.
Something to do with pie, idk what kind apple pumpkin pecan it don’t matter 🤣
Too funny but on point.
Yep, also, there is no load. As soon as that tire starts to stuff he’s going to rip that well plastic up.
This video should be titled What not to do with your Tacoma.
Why? I’m just asking because I just got my Tacoma and wanted some beefier tires. Was assuming this size would work
I want to know too
Tires are too big. It will rip out your fenders once you hit a bump at speed
@Jamie It also depends on what width the tire is, what width the rim is, and what the rim backspacing/offset is.
Just admit you hate because you don't have a tacoma. You can't give a explanation to ur stupid comment
285s on stock suspension lmao good luck. The biggest tires you can fit on stock suspension with no trimming and no rub is 265/75r16 or 265/70r17. And 275s will fit with minimal trimming
I was gonna comment my 2 cents on the clearance too, but everyone is already jumping on them...lol...
Function over fashion!
Im starting to think asians love their shit to rub on the tarmac, when the truck can't rub, maaaaan let's make them rubbers rub lol
PatTheRiot has nothing to do with being Asian, this guy is really cool and is always helpful.
That tire is gonna touch the body 💯
@Jack Carlos if youre having to hack your girlfriends instagram page then you probably shouldn't be with her. Some of us here actually care about the topic at hand. Tire size fitment for Tacomas.
285's are just to big for a stock tacoma or even with a 2" lift. You can fit 265 70 17 or 265 75 16's. There almost 32's or go with some pizza cutters. 255 85 16's. I don't know why everyone works so hard to fit tires that definitely don't fit. They're heavy, they throw your speedo off, they're likely to ware parts prematurely and they rub. So just don't do it. Not worth it. You can off road with 265's. Your talking an inch difference.
An inch matters ask my wife 😢
With that tight clearance, it’ll still rub. Specially when going in reverse. There will be a slight compression in the spring and hence will rub. Ideally a cheap top hat spacer is needed for 285s.
I have 285/70/17 with a 1n3 level spacers on a 2017 off road. It rubs on the frame any sharp turn, into and out of any parking space and all angles in reverse.
Without a lift, any 285 tire will rub, especially in reverse, if you dont trim, and or do a Cab mount chop, been this way forever. Check any Tacoma forum, its the number one asked question, "How big of a tire will fit".
I was thinking the same thing, that’s going to more than rub when the suspension is compressed even a little.
@donnieraines2066 mine have never rubbed in reverse on my 3rd gen pro. They only rub a little when turning travelling forward and hitting a bump. Not major enough to rip anything off because my truck is totally fine after some harsh snowy backroads and they've been on there 2 years with no modifications. 285/75R16.
@@donnieraines2066i thought the consensus was that 285s will fit with no rub on trd pro models, and models with factory lift. My understanding is that the wheels need to be zero offset.
I have these same wheels paired with Falken Wildpeak 275/70-17, stock suspension. They indeed do rub with the wheel at a slight angle
0 offset and stock suspension?
You think 265 70 17 will rub?
@@gabrielguardado1009 doubtful those are even skinnier
@@gabrielguardado1009 I run 265/70/17 on my 2018 SR5 with stock suspension and have no rubbing at all
@@Mrblitz1819 is that with stock wheels or aftermarket with a 0 offset?
Would have liked to have seen a before and after wide shot of the truck. side view maybe?
I think that if the tire is 2.5 inches larger you only gain half that in added ground clearance (1:20).
The 32 inch tires is all you need
Always put the spare tire wth the air valve facing down, when it loses air it will be easy to fill, otherwise you will have to remove again, and your tpms light wont be on forever.
You can't put it up with the valve stem facing down, plus that means the face of the wheel would be exposed to debris.
Also, the spare tire does not have TPMS.
The reason the tire is mounted with the valve stem facing up so if water or moisture gets inside of tire it will not rust the valve core. To solve that problem buy a 12" flexible valve stem and pass it thru 1 of the wheel openings put tire the way it should be mounted facing UP
@@Aroceen Not true
“Fit” is a relative term.
Hahaha true
You cut the fender plastic for the sake of bigger tires on 40k truck....obviously tires to big just parked there turning the wheels side to side. It's not going to work. You'll need to raise it.. which exposes the cut fender plastic more..should think this through. Thanks for the video.
It is actually only a small piece of plastic that does not affect the functionality of the truck whatsoever. You only have to trim about an inch off of it and nothing is exposed behind that tiny piece of plastic. And we test-drove it to make sure everything clears.
The 285s won’t hit the wheel when the suspension compresses ? I don’t believe it. 265 75 16 is the largest tire you can put on Tacoma stock with out the possibility of hitting the well
Theodorski newkcomerski it will rub when off road. You're right on the 265/75/16, also 275/70/17 would work if you still want to be able to off road with them. Most people who are asking for this video do only daily driving
@@Runnin4Tacos well that's just lame making a video for mall crawlers
Good Video, mall crawler or not. If you are going to hate, hate on the owners of the truck.
Theodorski newkcomerski false
ran 255/85/16. never had any issues and i flexed out multiple times lol. The best and proper way to fit bigger tires to actually FUNCTION offroad is to infact trim and cut as needed rather than lift to think you need to fit the tire.
i’d rather off road efficiently than look cool at the mall tho
Don't forget the rubbing when leaving the mall bump LOL
I would rather build a mall crawler that can wheel but dont wheel. And. Only lightly wheel it on dirt roads. And then buy a quad a dirt bike and a side by side and wheel the shit out of them like i did. These trucks are way to expensive to buy a 2020 trd off road then buy new tires and rims and shocks and re gear it and get a 6 inch lift and a super charger. These are all things you must do to propey wheel it and do the kind of wheeling i do. If you dont then all you are doing is ridding through puddles calling it mudding riding on dirt roads calling it hitting the dunes and driving 100 yards down a groomed trail illegally or at a track and saying u are trail riding. Yall pussy cant off road as good as i can.
Gsfbffx Pdhhdf yeah I mean I off road in my truck but shit all that gear you said is mad expensive to go off roading with the right mods to not fuck your truck up and it still might happen. But like you said suspension sliders and other armour lifts tires wheels are all so expensive. That’s not even including recovery gear and bumpers and lights if you choose to do so. I have a sr5 4runner with just the trd skid plate on it and bigger tires. Can’t afford an off road suspension or sliders or anything else right now.
@@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 sometimes u need to to take your truck to a off road location . Your trucks carry all your supplies so u can go in deep in the trenches. That way u willnhv two vehicle for off road insted of one. More is better right?
@@andyham6094 when u say off road suspension , what are u refering to. Because all lift kits are off road suspsension, just some are better but u can get some cheaper ones and it does the job just fine.
That's great if all you do is drive straight down a flat road at 25 miles per hour in a straight line. :P
Theres no way this wont rub. You arent getting 33's on a tacoma with no lift with out them rubbing. Even though he shaved the liner a bit, its still going to rub like crazy. Just wait until he starts making turns on roads that arent level. 33's are dope on a tacoma, but you have to put in the work to get them to fit with out rubbing.
😂it’s nice looking... but you’ll rub like hell when you off-road in a intermediate level offroad .
At least a cab mount chop with that tire size lol
Yah if ur gonna tell people this, id recommend doing more than just showing a stand still video. Telling people that they can fit this stock without showing more involved like flexing, driving, bumps etc etc. This is practically useless. Considering i fit 255/85/16 toyo mt stock with stock wheels and never had to worry about a thing. It varies through out but thats why you trim and cut where needed.
Are those 32's? Not a conversion expert
@@jtec99 33s my friend!
@@CanadianOffroad4x4 nice, got a 2" spacer lift and 2" block in rear. That get me anymore flex clearance?
@@jtec99 technically not with a spacer. Your suspension is limited to by what you're running. It will flex as much as it can. You won't have issues
@@CanadianOffroad4x4 thank you buddy, and the 255s will fit on stock Toyota rims in assuming? Have the trd off road year 2020.
Your hand on the fender flare while cutting towards it...eewwwww. Could of made for another kind of video.
i just put 285/70/17 k02 on my trd sport and it rubbed A LOT even with a 2” lift. we had to trim a lot of the wheel well plus do a cab mount chop. there’s no way this won’t rub without any lift especially when the shocks compress off-roading
It was probably your offset. With my 285s my tacoma didnt rub at cleghorn, or at sandstone canyon. No cab mount chop nor plastic cutting. I did have the alignment shop adjust the caster though. This was at 0 off set.
Once i changed rims though the offset was -25 and that made my tires rub on everything even with the alignment, thats when i needed the cab mount chop and very little molding with a heat gun for the plastic.
Its all on the offset with 285's 👍🏼
You think 275s would rub?
Your offset and and wheels (how wide are they) are a huge part of it. Offset changes how tires fit in the truck and how wide you go on your wheels will change how the tires fit on them, so it will also affect how flat or round they become at certain pressures as well as how much bulge you get on your sidewalls, which translates on the rub you can expect between the tire and the suspension components too.
Always remember that the way your tires fit only apply to your exact setup (mods, wheels, offset, suspension components, suspension wear, specific tires, etc)
If yoy have an off-road truck, it makes no sense to use a bigger rim and lose 1" of tire. I guess this was done for show and not go.
Just so everyone knows a 255/85/16 (33.2x10) fits under any articulated+turned situation without any trimming.
Mine rubs a little under turn +flex. 2018 OR 255/86r16 ST/Maxx. I would still suggest them though. 285s will rub a lot as you obviously know.
How about 17 inch rim
I have a 3' lift and can still get 255/85s to rub under certain situations...
I have the BFG AT KO2s and they don't rub at 265/70R17 on TRD rims. They look great and more importantly the 265/70R17 is a common size so you don't pay a fortune for the tires. I was just over $800 for the set on sale at my local warehouse club.
285/75/16 Nitto terra Grappler on trd pro wheels on sr5 2019 dclb. Stock pro set up
That shit gonna be rubbing hard when actually offroading Imogene pass or similiar roads.
when he drives into a freaking parking lot that is going to rub like hell, or down a slightly uneven gravel driveway.
Obviously they don't fit.
For those who want to keep the stock wheels: I have a 2018 Offroad at stock height and literally just installed 265/75/16 tires which equates to a 31.7" wheel; no shaving required and no rubbing at all at full turn. Like TT mentioned, I believe you could get away with 32"s at stock height with zero shaving/rubbing, but I haven't seen any tire spec combo that gets you to exactly 32" at R16.
265/17R 16 is all you want any bigger you need a lift and gear ratio change. Congrats!
noice i might try that
Yup I put 265/75/16's on my 2020 & no issues. Then I got stupid & put a 2/1 lift. Spacer/Block. Every 6 months I had to get alignment & it had a wobble in rear. Live & Learn. I got 2023 trdSport recently & I may leave it stock & just go tad bigger tire.... Or I may go Bilsteins 5100 adjustable shock/strut set at 1 on front & Bilsteins on bacK. No block. So it will be leveled & not much different geometry then factory. Then I may go 275/70/17 on stock wheels. Shouldn't have any rub or cutting..... Lifted Tacoma's look sweet BUT it comes with a pricetag. Even if you do the best of the best be ready for issues. It's almost a guarantee.....2/1 lift did very little to MPG. Bigger tires WILL reduce MPG by 2/3+ MPG
Umm, thats the standard factory size on the Tacoma Trd Offroad. My 2022 came with those. Maybe you meant 285 instead of 265, since 265 is normal/stock size.
@@Eastsidegeorgiaboy True, stock width is 265, but my point was about the series, 70 vs 75. 285/70/R16 is basically 32's, but depending on the offset most people seem to rub going that route without a lift and cutting. At the time, I wanted to put the highest series on stock tires and stock height without rubbing or cutting. Now I have 265/70/R17, no rub
today, this video has 663k views. This guy is showing he has no idea of what he is doing, he messed up his truck and youtube's algorithm still recommends this video. Total fail... viva internet!!
Very sloppy work. Using a knife isn't always the best or cleanest way. Glad you're not working on my truck! Sorry.
This is so fucking stupid. If you have your wheels turned and hit any kind of bump you will have severe rubbing. You can only do this if you drive in a straight line. You tube never ceases to amaze me.
And that's how you rice up a truck. No clearance whatsover when leaving a parking lot. LOL
Looks like someone “rice” up your mom. Pat the prick.
What a horrible video, who would want to do this to their brand new truck "Just keep destroying your truck until you get them to fit" Really really bad video.
I own 5 Tacomas. You CAN NOT put 33 inch tires on a stock Tacoma!!! ha It's going to rub like Hell!!! If you want 33 inch tires then go get A LIFT!!!!
Not all 33" tires are true, depends on brand. 255/80/17 Cooper under 33" and 285/70/17 Goodyear actual 33". As for rubbing depends on rim offset. Even 31" with huge negative offset will rub. 285/75/17 is over 33''!
tom thorn how about 275-70-17 on stock ?
I currently have 33" tires on my 2019 tacoma with stock height with minor trimming, no body mount chop and it doesn't rub while off-roading... and they have 1-1/4" wheel spacers on my truck too... they fit, as long as your okay with trimming fender liner
What size life do you recommend? I have an 07 Tacoma and want 285 70 17 tires 😁
2ZZGE5.56 I would go with a 3” if you want to comfortably fit, but your going to need a cab mount chop reguardless, I’m at stock ride height on those same size tires with a cab mount chop and I have no rubbing issues even at full flex
That cut liner.....looks like crap
The center cap from method is made to look like a race style hub that you would find on vehicles such as prerunners and trophy trucks.
Exactly
Yup and method is a big part of that scene..
If you have to cut the fender so it doesn’t rub, the the tires don’t fit which defeats the purpose of this video.
If this is the case…let’s get a chainsaw and make some 33’s fit.
Since it barely clears now, any off road driving when the tire goes up over bumps when turning it'll rub so much it'll probably rub the fender flare attached to the fender causing damage to the fender.
Lol. Flat roads only.
Sorry, but thats pretty dumb. Just leave the normal tires. Japanese engineers designed them like that for a reason.
Ain’t no way in hell I’d be trimming my Tacoma just to fit some tires 🤣 them tires would be goin back.
Same rims and tires.... plus 2 inch lift in front and 1 inch lift in tha back 💪🖕👌
285/75/R16 slight bit of rubbing only when I turn steering wheel all the way to the left or right going over a bump

ok, so, i dont get it. they make a video where they say it's stock, no rubbing with small trimming.
but everyone else is having issues ? i guess Taco Twonz will do a second video review after driving few miles ? i wanted to upgrade my tires with these video, i was so happy since i didnt want to lift .. but i am now hesitating...

You need to match the lug nut SEAT to the wheel. "Acorn" does not tell you the seat type. I won't poke at you for your tool or style selections, but it's technically important to match the seat type - conical/taper, spherical/ball/round and old school flat.
Wont work, try drive it and see what happens
Idk about this. A turn test in your garage is one thing, but actually driving normally on the road with this setup is another thing entirely, let alone trying to go offroad, Personally, I wouldn't run this big of a tire, in any case, because I don't want to cut on my truck and 35s look ridiculous, in my opinion. I think 32s are plenty big enough for this truck and they don't look silly.
I thought the caption says “will fit with no cutting and rubbing” 😂😂😂juskolord
The turn test is without the suspension compressed as it would begin an off-road situation.
rob the elder exactly, most people who are asking us for the biggest size are also saying they are only driving on road. But definitely would rub when off road

Assuming a 31 inch tire to start with and a 33 inch tire replacing it, you get a one inch lift. Ya know.. cause half of that tire height is on top?!
I don’t know about you, but I’m not gonna spend that kinda money, do the trimming, worry about rubbing under off-road conditions just for one inch. ( that’s what she said)

I like your channel and enjoy your videos. Don't want to see ya'll put out incorrect info. Tire size above the axle does not increase clearance. Your increase in clearance is 1.05". 32.7" - 30.6" = 2.1". 2.1" X 0.5 = 1.05". They are nice looking tires.

My brain has cramps after all those numbers 🤪
Would it then be possible to install the TRD PRO wheels and tires without a leveling kit?
There the same size as what comes stock on a trd offroad.
Actually it’s a 1.05 inch lift, because you know, the tire is round.
Thank god someone else caught this lol... Understanding the diameter of a round object apparently slipped his education or it’s a magical tire that keeps all 2 inches between the wheel and ground at all times while spinning 😂😂.
Changing tire size from 31 to 33 inches will raise the ground clearance by 2 inches.
Steve Cabacungan ...... the diameter increasing by 2 inches does not add 2 more inches of clearance, the tire is ROUND and the vehicle rides the center of the wheel not the very top of the tire so just think about that for a minute. As the first poster mentioned the average person would think that it would add an inch but you have to take in account static load radius which can decrease or increase clearance depending on the type of tire due to softness/hardness. I/e why some new tires sidewalls bulge more then others.
Steve Cabacungan A good question to help understanding this for instance. If going from 31 inch tires to 33 inch tires adds 2 inches of ground clearance as you say then why doesn’t 31 inch tires give you 31 inches of ground clearance? Which brings us back to the tire being round and the vehicle being supported by the wheel in the center of the tire not the full 31 inches of diameter.
Steve Cabacungan 1”
If you are not a hunter man this is fine, but all the hunter men hell no way must lift 2" bump.
I have a hard time believing you have no rubbing with the 285/70. I have a 17 Trd Off-road with 2” lift and my 275/70/17 rub in reverse with steering wheel turned 3/4 lock. Rubbing occurs on the cab mount. Cab mount chop is required.

Just to confirm. These tires don't actually fit. I don't cut my wheel liners or front lower fascia of my new Taco !!! Most people are not going to do that. Go to a 16" wheel and keep the KO's and that should fit !! And no damage to the vehicle. Still like the channel !! :)

I'm very very worried about all these things too. I'm not a gear head what can you do? Or nothing you just have to bite the bullet?
GoproZack on older stuff there was a small gear u switched on a cable from odometer to the transmission. I don’t know what u do on digital stuff. Maybe flash it with an aftermarket code or something? I don’t know 🤔
you should invest in a flash light. You cant see well in the dark areas.
Dude, you should have centered the TRD center cap logo with the Method logos on the wheel....
I’m a total novice in trucks... but I just bought this identical Tacoma... I find it funny the wasted money on the grille, since 2020 got rid of the chrome... which is the #1 reason everyone bought this pro grille. Makes no sense, at least to me, trying to squeeze a big ass wheel on there which will cause major issues when driving bumps, off road or crappy city. Looks like this owner knows jack shit about truck performance... just wants a specific look, as cheap as possible.
Thanks for showing this. Although I was tempted to go bigger on my 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport, I decided to go with the Wildpeak At3W in 265/70/17 on Black Rhino's Sierra wheels. It actually feels great and I think I could have gone up one size. Anyhow, thanks guys for all the awesome vids. 💯🤙
Hi brother you think you could have gone up one size ? What you mean by that sorry I’m trying to upgrade my wheels also not sure which to go for . I wanted ko2 285/70/17 but I’m sure they will rub
Gabriel Guardado Actually, the 265/70/17 (31 inch tire) just fits without a lift. If I were to go larger, it would be better to get a lift. Yep, the 285's will definitely rub. The KO2's are dope.
I’m thinking of getting the KO2 275/70/17…. You think that will fit? I have a stock 19 trd sport. It does look like it has a slight lift 🤷🏻♂️ maybe an inch lol
what rims did you go with ?
how have your tires held up? I'm interested in going up to a 265/70/17 on my stock '23 Tacoma. Any problems with rubbing at all?
Anybody can tyrn the tire ti see if it will rub. What rocks, potholes, logs, bumpy roads or everyday driving. Just because it doesnt rub sitting still doesnt mean it wont while driving.
Makes me want to grab a 285 now 👍
Do yourself a favor, and don't. Unless you want to hack your truck to shreds, lift that sumbitch.
I love how all these people, with whatever kind of truck, test their wheel size by turn their tires from side to side. When you get on the road, or even off road the suspension gives in pothole or bumps. By turning wheels side to side you are not gettin a true wheel fit!!!
I just installed 285 75 16 Toyo at3's on my factory tacoma trd pro 2020. I have removed my mud flaps because it looks better and would just barely touch when turning. I seem to have lots of room. No rubbing, no lift. I also lost 2mpg. But looks like it should have come from the factory
Hi I have a 2020 Tacoma TRD off rd 4x4 do you have a pic would like to see it. I want to keep my stock rims for now and get the tires but not sure it work Peter.bears@yahoo.com could you send a pic?
@@papabear007 I will work on pictures, If I cross a high curb will get a small rub. 88 rotors say with a 1.5 add aa leaf and a 1" spacer it won't rub at all. But I want the softer ride and no higher. Works for me

Thank you ! I was thinking about 2inch leavening kit if that would help hmm
Guys guys guys... Lift or not those size tires will rub.. Mall crawler or not. They will rub depending on the angle. They should be have put a disclaimer saying for mall crawlers only. Off-road guarantee they'll rub & that's not fun on trails either.
But you can't take it off road....
or full lock the steering wheel.
Or drive it
I would like to see that truck going down the street taking turns taking bumps and some videos of it going off road and see what it does as far as rubbing. I bought some wheels and tires but unfortunately the shocks are on a six month back order for most manufacturers. So if there are issues with putting on these wheels and tires on the stock truck I’m not going to bother
Loved the vid and the effort. The morale of this story is...ahhh...don't ever do this at home. Lift it first.
Ya no, if you want just looks do this. But if you actual plan on using your truck off road this is absolutely not going to work. I suppose the maker of this video does indeed answer the question correctly but this is a touch silly if you actually use your truck to go places off the pavement
I guess it’s fri here too , not only on TW
texasmetal83 lol
These clowns usually post good content, dont know what they smoking today. 285s will fit... Sure!
kaitlynn saenz We showed that 285s will fit with some trimming and we also mentioned that if you don't want to trim you can do 32s instead.
@@Runnin4Tacos yea you guys forgot about when going over bumps. the tires are guaranteed to rub still when hitting the slightest bumps in the road especially on the offroad eddition. the suspension is much springier
How did you change the grill? I’m iffy about changing it because of the front camera.
Ignacio ornelas you won't be able to with the front camera
Taco Twonz thanks for the reply!
Same size tire and rim but -10 offset. Would that work also? Or it would rub way more?
I love the tight turn radius on my Taco. I'd say it turns just as tight as my Camry; seriously, if there is a difference, it is undetectable by me.
That tire noise killed me
Hello, my take away from this is from the spare tire placement. I would recommend that if you don't cut the exhaust pipes and perhaps use some sort of heat shield wrap, that may work too. Just my 2 cents. Thanks again guys for the content.
I suggest cutting a flat spot in the tire. 🤔🤔

Exactly. Fiberglass insulation as an example. Wrapped. Don’t cut off the exhaust pipe. The exhaust should vent away from the vehicle not underneath it. Carbon monoxide hazard.
Dude lift that truck, or put those factory wheels back, that’s no even safe
I always thought Taco's had bigger wheel wells than Hilux's, but this is almost exactly the same amount of clearance work I had to do to fit 33's on my Lux with 0 offset wheels. Only difference is, mine isn't a mall crawler, so I did my turn test with the suspension compressed.
A tacoma is a hilux. Its just gas not diesel
@@zebrastripes875 Hilux comes with a gas engine too, they're not the same chassis, Taco is C section, Hilux is full box, and the Taco comes with a longer wheelbase. Hardly any of the front suspension parts carry over (there's better stuff available for Tacoma, so a lot of Hilux owners have looked into what parts can be used on both)
🔥👍
"If you do NOT want to do any trimming at all, then you can go with a 32" tire or 275/70/17 equivalent." Does this apply to an "SR" with factory steel rims?
