Update on the Rafal video.... other driver hit him and ICBC found him at fault (obviously).
Icbc is the absolutely worst!!
who was found at fault?. Sorry, is a little hard to understand if "him" is the other driver or Rafal
@@Osmeldu sorry other driver found at fault
0:45 definitely black SUV, not only should you not pass on the right, you also shouldnt move directly into passing someone from a lane change because that is very unpredictable driving.
5:30 Put your foot down merging onto highways! It doesn't hurt!
So many people think it's "speeding" haha
Come to Mexico. God. You think learning to merge is like learning an alien language. Absolutely retarded here
Thank you for pointing out Vince was in the right. The HOV lane is not the passing lane.
Yes but he actually said "Fast" lane - of which there is no such thing (at least in the US but definitely not in The Great White North since everyone knows they are waaaay too polite to even consider going swftly, let alone fast).😉
I disagree… what advantage is this lane, why was it developed if not to move more swiftly than other lanes which would be expected to be more congested? It’s not there so that when you have a passenger you can set your cruise control and have a conversation without the distractions of having to keep up with the flow of traffic. You’ll see on highways everywhere signs that say “slow traffic keep to the right”(it doesn’t say if you’re not speeding). That’s why the HOV lane is on the left…it’s expected to reward the driver who ride-shares during periods of high traffic.
If someone wants to go faster than you, let them by when you have an opportunity, why not? The truth is that there are lazy drivers, unskilled drivers, nervous drivers who interpret the rules of the road to justify why they can’t do a lane change to let someone by.
You just shared the fact that 50% of young drivers could not pass their tests. Think about it. That means what we are looking at are the drivings of the 50% who passed. I think they should restart “Canada Worst Drivers” but have a BC Edition. I’m sure they will have too many choices to choose from.
Ya I posted that on Instagram! Wild....because even the people who pass may have barely passed
i grew up in bc.. started to learn to drive in the lower mainland and finally got mine when i moved to nelson... so, in other words i got exposed to crazy and then to snow, which was a good learning experience. i learned a lot of defensive driving and how to deal with wildlife and weather. many decades later and now in ontario, i can't decide which area has the worst drivers... i even knew one of the people nominated for worst driver from high school lmao. don't forget the richmond dmv got caught selling licenses at one point decades ago. i miss that show.
People should retake their license in FSJ, where it snows 7/12 of the year. They would get real snow experience up there. Also, it is actually encouraged to drive into parking spots. Y'know, they update the driving learners Manuel almost every year, so I highly recommend that too.
6:45 I encountered this Mazda a week ago in Metrotown area. Doing the same thing. LOL!!!
Oh boy
At 7 minutes, the driver also turned into the farthest lane. That’s what I call the “Vancouver Manoeuvre”, as I rarely see it anywhere else.
I’ve been told I’m a good driver but I’ve had my share of bad driving moments. One of my fears is to end up in a video like this. Luckily I have not been yet and plan to keep it that way! 😅
Keep up the good work haha
Pet peeve of mine.. 0 IQ idiots throwing SUVs on roads like it’s their personal go cart track! Just clueless!
we all have our brain fart days, even the best drivers, but thankfully they're usually very, very rare.
It makes sense that red light cams have flash, but we don't really have them here and even then I rarely see people run them. Its interesting to actually see one go off.
There's actually really not that many unfortunately. If they had more BC would be rich haha
@@vancouversworstdrivers True lol there's a lot of people, like in the example, who think they'll make the light but end up being too late.
As a Metro Vancouver resident, most locations shown are familiar to me.
There was a car that ran a red light while pedestrians were crossing the road on Victoria street. We almost got hit as the car zoomed by.
I also crossed a road in front of the Township of Langley civic facility when a car turning left almost hit me. It's unpredictable what can happen to you out there.
4:37 to answer your question, it has to be a BMW driver 🤣
2:01 Looks like the dump truck lost its brakes. You can see that it had been flashing its high beams prior to crossing the intersection and then smoke trailing behind the trailer.
The dumptruck was hauling an extremely heavy load and couldnt instantly stop.
@0:57 100% Black SUV. Excessice speed and driving unpredictable way.
would have actually have been fine if it wouldnt be for the fact that he sucks at driving and his reaction time is astronomical
With how terribly Vancouver is designed I’m not surprised literally no one can drive, it’s a free for all everyday
This is also true
Another great video from Vancouversworstdrivers!
2:47 this type of behavior can be seen in the small round about right beneath the building I live in, daily for sure, hourly is possible
Reading some of the comments in these videos about people arguing their opinion versus actual rules and regulations set out forth in the BC MVA - I suggest some of the commenters sign up ASAP at 3:42
😂
I am *SO* glad I moved out of BC after 50 years of it getting worse every day. Notice how a LOT of these were in Surrey?! Sigh...
2:03 is what happened to me on the Alex Fraser :( Thank God there wasn't a car beside me and I was able to swerve out of the way.
Great commentary! Good thing the guy at 2:15 is taking safety seriously...
Excellent that you point out that the HOV lane doesn't count as a "passing lane". As such, it's officially exempt from the "Keep Right Except to Pass" rule which only applies to the general purpose lanes. It's the same down in WA State. In any case, the cammer was actually passing traffic on their left. Too many folks use the HOV lane as their own "I want to drive as fast as I can" lane and get impatient with those that are using it correctly and at a legal speed.
Not a fan of the voice over.
Then Don’t watch it simple
Or hear me out, you could mute it 😮
Thank you for continuing this series!
These are among my fave videos on UA-cam.

Thank you for watching! Stay safe out there
Why was my car insurance in Montreal 55% of what I was paying in Vancouver?
How did these idiots get their drivers license?
Where is the drivers training?
I met and spoke to plenty of people with a DL and don't know the law, how is that?
Where are the police to ensure drivers abide by the road laws?
Oh yes, I saw police ignore driving infractions in Vancouver, whereas they take it seriously in Montreal.
Don't complain about how high your car insurance is, there is a reason for that and ICBC bureaucracy, no competition, just pay them. Had a friend in ICBC with 8 week paid vacation per annum. Life is good.
Some Of the worst drivers on the entire planet taking advantage of living in Vancouver
Good for you .
3:21 There is NO law against pulling into a parking spot like this. Period. In fact, it's the best way to get parked as it avoids reversing.
That said, you could probably film your next video just in the environs of the Costco parking lot ...
Totally haha it's chaos
Thanks for another crazy video!
Thanks for watching!
1:31. The cyclist not only ran the red but was also going the wrong way on the side walk which makes it even harder to anticipate. Culling the herd should be allowed.
Not only can people barely not afford to drive due to the cost of living in Vancouver but their ICBC rates go thru the roof. So glad I left that hell hole and it’s nine straight mths of rain!
Great comment. Very accurate. It literally hasn’t rained here in four months now.
#2 The sign is at fault, it just came out of nowhere!
Pulling through a parking space is not just legal, it's good practice.
It is taught in some driver training schools.
It is better to drive straight out of a parking space, than to back out. So backing in, or pulling through are the best practice for parking.
Driving in the lower mainland is appalling. The culprit is ICBC not enforcing proper training and testing and, of course, certain areas where bribery and corruption get you a test pass for cash.
None of that is true. Obviously you are just spewing what some one else said. Do people just say what they want as though it is a fact because it sounds true? Or right?
@@jcmurr2669 And what exactly would you consider to be proof? How about the case of ICBC vs. Dragon Driving school where 21 individuals were convicted of conspiring with an ICBC examiner of bribery to falsify records to show drivers passing tests that they had not? Each person paid the examiner $500 through the driving school to pass their test. Only an absolute idiot would think this sort of thing was not still going on, particularly in that municipality.
@@jcmurr2669 And what exactly would you consider valid proof? How about the case in criminal court of ICBC vs. Dragon Driving School? This is a case which found 21 individuals guilty of conspiring and bribing an ICBC examiner $500 for each time the examiner falsified records to show drivers had passed tests that they had not. Only an idiot of the greatest magnitude would think this sort of thing was not still going on, particularly in that municipality.
There are no consequences for breaking the law of driving in BC or Canada. I got a CAD 1000 fine when I lived in Norway for being 5 km above the speed limit. And this was on a camera on the side of the road.
If you are getting your license in Norway you have to have a minimum of 50 hours theoretical training and a min of 50 hours of driving before you can get your learner permit at 18. In BC, just go and tell them I need a license and they hand it out. Redicoluse
lol they just hand it out eh? Yeah after waiting like 6 months. But yes, you're right, the beginner test is super easy. You can just study like 20 minutes before and be fine. But also it was the same in Ontario and drivers are much better out there.
1:20 if the cyclist keeps riding that way he will be a future organ donor.
7:45 the Mercedes also seems to have only 1 person in the vehicle.
You won't want his drug damaged organs! All the druggies ride in that care free manner.
I LOVE VANCOUVER so much !!
The Most Beautiful City of all Canada
Many Asian drivers go to Squamish to take their road test because there is far less traffic and no big hills or difficult things you encounter. Also you only have to get 8 questions right out of ten to pass your written. Way back when it was ridiculous, but you had to know things like how far your high or low beams would illuminate the road, how many candlepower your turn signals had to be, etc... What is needed is a more comprehensive test both written and practical.
ICBC insurance is based on many things, but mainly it deals with number of accidents, and prices to repair or replace them. Why not have an insurance discount for passing a more comprehensive testing system?
Love the content
0:56 100% the fault of the SUV. That's what impatient driving looks like when the driver thinks everyone else is just in their way. Hard to tell if the Accord signals, but even if they did, the SUV was coming in hot.
1:43 Both at fault there. Impatient drivers are costing us a lot with insurance rates.
2:16 There's a whole Jerry Seinfeld bit about this.. lol
2:50 If I'm in charge, that's an automatic "pass a road test and you can have your license back."
3:17 Maybe not in BC, but in Alberta you can. In fact, barring this sort of behaviour (grrr... VW), it's actually encouraged because it's safer to pull out than back out of a parking spot. In this case, it's safer for the VW driver to get the hell out of there before they get their ass whooped. lol (they should have realized what was happening and backed up into the stall behind them)
4:37 I know the answer to this one! The person who overtakes like this is someone who, if I'm in charge, has requested that their license be revoked until they take a mandatory defensive driving course as well as a road test.
6:56 People are becoming less and less observant. There's a side street that turns onto a main neighbourhood "ring road" in my area, and in the past week, 3 different people have STOPPED on that main road as though there was a stop sign where there isn't one. Ridiculous.
7:22 I wonder which UA-cam podcast they were busy watching?
7:53 Hey look, a Mercedes driver who, in my books, needs a year of mass transit commuting to give them something to think about.
The pull through parking is applied by 2 laws. First one is a physics law that states that no 2 objects can occupy the same space. The second lsw is common law and it states first come, first served.
My biggest pet peeve, aside from people using HOV lane as passing lane, are the people stuck in the left lane who refuses to move over when they have a line of cars behind them
True that!
7:06 is no one going to say anything about the car on the right? lol
The pull through parking “rule”. It’s private property, it’s not like there are laws governing how you can drive in them.
In BC a flashing green is a pedestrian-controlled traffic light, be aware, it is not an advance flashing green for turning.
yeah.. after i moved to ontario, i was seriously confused by the advanced green flashing light, didn't understand it was my turn, to turn.
Try driving in Montreal. I was at a red light and a bus just drove through the intersection. Turns out, they have an advance light to get them ahead of traffic. Took a local to explain it to me and what to look for.
Try driving in Montreal. I was at a red light and a bus just drove through the intersection. Turns out, they have an advance light to get them ahead of traffic. Took a local to explain it to me and what to look for.
3:29 thats Hudson and W70th. That pick up truck actually ran a red light. It’s a very confusing offsetting intersection.
Yep I live basically right at that corner and it's aggravating when people driving eastbound on 70th block Hudson! And doing so creates a horrible blind spot for legal westbound drivers on 70th. Lots of frustration, daily!
Nah, you can absolutely pull through parking spaces. No law that says otherwise.
The only applicable laws in parking lots prohibit parking or blocking emergency right-of-ways and handicap spaces. For accidents, ICBC will fault any drivers that are moving at the time of collision (usually 50/50). The yellow lines for regular stalls mean nothing. They're private property, not technically public roads so they don't really fall under the jurisdiction of the traffic safety or highways legislation. ymmv
The overtaking on the right using the shoulder has been happening to me lately here in Washington. Some on ramp cowboys do not wish to slide in behind you.
Most of the incidents in the video could be avoided just by anticipating and predicting other drivers. If you think a car in an intersection bout to turn left, turning in to your lane, run a red light or do an aggressive maneuver just slow down ahead of time so you can make the right judgement or correction. More than half of the incidents in the video could’ve been avoided if the dashcam driver just anticipated the surroundings
Vancouver has too many new person drivers, mixed with too many senior drivers that should have had their license suspended our turned in many years ago. Throw in some drivers who clearly bought, bribed or got their license in a cracker jax box and well... you get this fine mess.
NO PASSING ON RIGHT
took me a minute to realize what the issue was in the final clip
0:55 luckily they didn't hit another car but i'm curious how far they got after hit-and-run with punctured tires.
I have the full video it looks like the black suv pulls over
That sofa on the roof was nuts. In Vince's video @7:43 did that Merc even have a second passenger while driving in the HOV? Difficult to tell
Nope no passenger!
It does not matter with ICBC, if you're driving your 50% at fault. Both driver were wrong, one too fast the other an unsafe lane change.
I was on a bus 110 from Metrotown a couple weeks ago and the pedestrian decided to cross at worst time and bus driver honks and the pedestrian decides to this 🖕🏻because he thinks the bus driver is the wrong
But according to ICBC pedestrians are never in the wrong haha
The Hov lane is for those with more than one person. Which is pointless if you go the same speed as the other lanes. So it is the fast lane. If u want to go the speed of the other lanes then then stay there. Otherwise the advantage of the Hov lane is pointless. It's not the law that you have to be in the hov lane. You can have 6 people in your car and you don't have to use it.
To the best of my knowledge it isn't illegal to drive through a parking space. 3:04 . Some may say it is rude but not as rude as blocking the flow of traffic as the person with the camera was doing all because he thought he was entitled.
first clip practically happened to me today thank good good brakes and could swerve to other lane and not speeding with elderly person in car
#1. With regards to the HOV Lane. Why do some feel the need to drive in the HOV Lane when they are going as slow as or slower than than flow of traffic? The HOV Lane is meant to make traffic more efficient by increasing the number of passengers per vehicle. You are not REQUIRED to drive in the HOV Lane just because you have more than one passenger! Have some respect and consideration for others and move back into the slower lanes if you are too scared to pass somebody, go the speed limit or are sight seeing on a Sunday afternoon after church. If you watch the clip (at 7:45) what you see in the 'slow lane' is a grey vehicle passing (probably frustrated) on the outside. This is what lollygagging in the HOV Lane causes. If drivers were more aware and considerate they may heed the signs posted 'SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT'. #2. We have a very high number of immigrants who simply put do not know how to drive nor read English. A good number of them DID NOT PASS an actual driving test! This is not fake news, rumor, nor racist . My friends mother received her DL by 'paying money'. Why do so many bridges get hit by truck drivers by 'professional' drivers? Why do they not know how to put on chains when they drive up on the COQ? end of rant
I live near Victoria. The driving is just as bad as Vancouver, but somewhat slower. 🙄
I’ve driven here for 45 years. This is both depressing and terrifying.
Agreed.....over thr past 10 years it's really gone downhill
Defensive driving trip. DO NOT hang in someone’s blind spot. Accident waiting to happen.
The clip at 2:40 I wanna be like everyone else because I still want to drive but I but don’t have a car so I will use my scooter instead 😂
That Langley exit has the speed limit of 110! That was one HELLUVA wipeout oof! Cyclists are way too effing entitled ugh
3:23 There are a few things going on here. The light has gone solid green, about to go amber (unless it's in the City of Vancouver). BC is the only jurisdiction to use flashing green lights in this manner, and they don't belong at intersections, IMHO. But even though he can't complete the maneuver, the Hyundai proceeds regardless, blocking the intersection. We didn't see whether the pickup stopped legitimately beforehand, but if so he is entitled to carefully move into the intersection; look it up.
The way these flashing green pedestrian controlled lights are supposed to work is like this, located mid-block: ua-cam.com/video/U8CRt_POxj0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=CompetentDrivingBC
Roundabouts should be the norm, stop lights are stupidy
4:54 and the next one must be brothers because they are cut from the same bad genes.
We do have some really bad drivers
if anyone in the none HOV lane is faster than you in the HOV lane, you should not be in the HOV lane. the van is in the wrong. don't hog the left lane. HOV lane exists so traffic moves faster. if you drive the same speed or barely faster than others, why take up an extra lane? just go to the normal lanes!
3:20 why would you think there are laws pertaining to parking lots? private property. cops don't even have jurisdiction over accidents on private property.
You must be mistaken, as HOV is High Octane Vehicle lane...go as fast as you like...Isn't it?
What if you have an EV 😅
Ok I'd like to know why a Manitoban plated car thinks it's ok to pass like that at the 4:37 timestamp...I'm from that Province originally and they don't drive like that there!
3:27 There is a green light.
3:38 he did now xD
I did not watch the (most of) the video, but what a lot of marshmallow! Vancouver seems to be desperate for drama in traffic
I like seeing if my wifes on here😂
Hahah back in the day I took my wife's dashcam and posted footage of her trying to park
white car didn't signal
The big question is where the fuck are the cops?
Police MUST do a better job at enforcement
This is all a direct problem of Trudildeau's cultural enrichment!
7:43 Seriously, the Mercedes' driver is hogging the HOV lane while there is only the driver in the car
Ya someone pointed that out! Unless they got someone else in the back they aren't even supposed to be there
I detest entitled a-holes who occupy the HOV lane driving slower than the flow of traffic in that lane (which is actually illegal) when they could be just fine in the other slower lanes on the far right. That car he passed was clearly going too slow for the fast lane, as cars are whipping by it on the right.
They are not accidents, they are collisions. You don't cause accidents.
3:21 the one on the other side should be empty tho so the cammer could try to get that one
Probably not if a bunch of people are waiting for spots...by the time he got there it probably would be taken by someone else
how did this guys passed the fking roadtest LOL
Money haha
@@vancouversworstdrivers Nice
Thank god I don’t live there anymore
0:52 50/50 fault as both changed lanes at the same time
maybe the black SUV should not overtaken from the right side.
@@xiangli1539 both changed lanes to the right so both did the same thing. And its not illegal to pass on the right
There was a collision on Clark and 1st Avenue around 6:15pm today (June 21, 2023). One car’s front end suffered heavy damage and the other car’s rear right fender was buckled in. Unfortunately, my dashcam’s SD card is full and I didn’t manage to get any footage minus a low-quality iPhone picture.
guy making a huge mess on highway remind me of CHiP's .. and majority of these clips i am SMH!!!
50/50 as both were lane changing @0:50
You’re sniffing glue
Naw 100% on the black SUV. The white car sees this guy speeding up toward him and hes merging into the slower lane. Meanwhile, the black suv tries recklessly speeding by him in the right lane with no time for the car ahead to realize what's happening.
@@DetectiveJones interesting how you know that the white car saw the SUV...also what speed measuring device did you use to determine how fast the SUV was travelling? is it possible that the SUV was travelling less than the speed limit and the white car was travelling slower?
If, as you have indicated, the white car did indeed see the SUV, the white car would have seen the SUV changing lanes with their indicator lights activated and not changed lanes into the black SUV...Also, does not appear that the white car used their signal light to indicate they were going to change lanes...so using your logic 100% on the white car...
But ultimately, ICBC would rule 50/50 as they both changed lanes at the same time and neither has the right of way, and both of the drivers have a legal obligation to ensure that they can change lanes safely...since an incident happened it was therefore not safe to change lanes
garbage take. 100% the black SUV. If he wasn't speeding around, in and out of lanes like a goof, all would eb fine.
@@asaraphym802 whether he was speeding or not, he was going way to fast considering he was approaching traffic. Looked like the white car was getting out of the way, moving to the right, but the SUV was going way to fast, and stupidly decided to pass on the right which you should never really do, because this happens. The car in front is supposed to move out of your way to the right. Have your opinion, fine, but in court the black SUV would 100% be at fault, zero doubts. ALSO that's not how you change lanes. You dont speed right up to someones bumper than suddenly dart to the next lane. That's so dumb. He should have paused behind the driver, put his blinker on for a moment or two, then cross over if you must. Also speaking of blinkers, the black SUV DIDN'T USE A BLINKER! either you don't drive, or you're a terrible driver, because this situation is black and white. Black suv, white sedan :p
also you think the white car had time to see the SUV was changing lanes so theyh shouldn't have? Wtf are you talking about? The SUV darted suddenly in slow moving traffic, there's no way to anticipate that. You're 100% wrong, I promise you.
Ohh if only GDL worked
04:50 it's a red light, settle down is fine.
The usual people
Get out of the HOV lane if you can't keep up with fast lane traffic. The law doesn't care, but other drivers do. It's just common courtesy.
Cyclists have to much right of way , and it is agaisnt the law to pull threw one parking spot to another if not agaisnt the law they reccomend not to
2:13 the tail door is up because the other part of the couch is sticking out
I know I'm being sarcastic lol
You're so smug in your wrongness. The truck at 2:01 is experiencing brake failure, as is indicated by his flashing headlights and smoke from the back of his truck. How can you run a channel on bad driving and have so many horribly inaccurate takes?
sadly, a lot of people wouldn't recognize the issue, unless they've seen it before... or grew up by knight and 41st and watches truckers go down either side of that hill.
so the point is that you are the perfect driver and only one who knows road safety, eh?
Rafel was not in the wrong , apart from the white line crossing. I will use the bus lane briefly there and then merge into an empty lane but not in front of an at speed vehicle, you can go slower in the bus lane, let that idiot pass and then merge. Reacting to being cut off like that will get you a fat lip in my book though, they should not be driving with that level of child like behavior
I wonder if hitting more of these entitled cyclists would smarten up other cyclists. Lets give it a try.. A Social Experiment
7:38 this clip kinda annoys me because I know that people drive as it is the left lane so people stay in the middle lane or the lane next to the fast lane. I've had to pass in the HOV lane because people would hog that left lane not knowing it's the left lane technically.
The HOV lane is a privilege. Having more than one person in the car does not mean you are supposed to be in it. It means you are allowed to be in it. Use courtesy and common sense and stay the heck out of it unless you need to be there. If you don't understand what I just wrote, just stay away from the HOV lane.
