    Clip @ 6:30 - it's the bridge between Lulu Island and Sea Island in Richmond. Basically if you go west from Bridgeport, it leads to a bridge. Take the off-ramp (signs read "Vancouver" and "Cessna Dr") and it goes off in a wild S-shaped off-ramp. Eventually it dumps you at the Pacific Gateway Hotel and where the old Airport Station of the 98 B-Line used to be, at the foot of the Arthur Laing Bridge.

    • @wyldhowl2821
      @wyldhowl2821 Рік тому

      Yeah, that series of on and off-ramps is indeed terrible, getting from Bridgeport to wherever on Sea Island is confusing for many. It's like it was designed by a crazy person, and the signage is awful. Probably won't be redesigned until the day the Arthur Laing and all the related intersections have to be rebuilt.
      Also, the video after that is the Aberdeen Centre parking, which is terrible for having cars trying to come out of spots where there is a constant stream of traffic.
      You should do a special edition video called "Vancouver's Worst Parking Lots", and include this one.

    Hello Mr. Dashcam. I've watched and cringed at so many of your video compilations that I get so pissed off and enraged that I realize it's time to move. The lack of police presence on the roads these days is pathetic. The domino effect of someone watching someone else commit a traffic violation and not actually causing an accident or receiving a ticket and then following that behavior is unbelievable. I've been driving a 3 ton flatdeck for my company for almost 4 years now and there's not a single second that you can take your eyes off the road and/or peripheral. Whether it's pedestrians wearing all black or people running yellow/red lights, its not safe anywhere anymore. I appreciate what you're trying to do and educate the public about bad driving behavior but at this point it's a lost cause. Smartphones have reduced peoples' attention span to wearing hoodies and blindly walking out into traffic on red hand do not cross signals. I honestly feel like they are suicidal and do not care about their lives. I'm sorry about this long rant but in the end I really hope that you provide all of your footage to the police.

    The trick to parking in a parking lot is DON'T EVER BACK INTO A PARKING SPACE. In the 70s and 80s it was illegal to do it in BC. I know this because I got my licence in the very early 80s and it was on the test. You can still see the signs on many older motels, "do not back in".

    I need to get my dash cam working again because I was driving on a street and almost got hit by someone running a stop sign, went back and parked somewhere else, as I was walking back to my car like 3 hours later, I saw a different car run that SAME STOP SIGN and almost hit a guy on a bike. Really weird, the stop sign isn't even obscured by anything, like at all. And it's a smaller side street, so you'd think people would be on the lookout for stop signs???? Idk

    6:38 - I remember reading somewhere (I think it was in ICBC's book "Learn to Drive Smart") that you should always turn on your blinkers in the direction you intend on going (in this case, to the left first). I think I understand what happened there.
    I tried going through the book but couldn't find this information again.

    Just a comment about parking, with signals. In Drivers' Ed they teach you to signal the spot you want then signal out to swing out then signal back again your intent to take the spot for backing in. It's kind of tricky in that situation because there was a spot in front of that van. I just find people in parking lots, in general are just too damn impatient. I wish everybody would just calm down out there.

  • @AzNightmare
    @AzNightmare Рік тому

    2:12 *Actually this clip is the PERFECT example why drivers should not hog the left lane. It causes potential dangerous situations such as because the left lane hoggers are encouraging a road rage situation. But OP (dashcam vehicle) has a role to play here as well. Knowing that the white car is blocking the passing lane and a SUV is right on him wanting to pass, OP should have the awareness to slow down to create a larger gap incase the SUV decides to change lane to get around.*
    *Having a car hog the left lane is one thing, but having 2 cars drive side by side (relatively) to form a "traffic wall" so both lanes are blocked is just bad, bad highway driving ethics. And this usually stems from lack of awareness of cars in the adjacent lanes and cars in front and behind. In order to be a better driver, one must have better awareness to read the traffic situation, and not just blindly look only ahead and what's ahead in your lane.*

    • @lovethemack
      @lovethemack Рік тому

      there is no problem here except for speeding and wanting to speed around everybody. Just slow down. If its posted 80 kph or more then the outside lane is for passing only, with a few exceptions. And yes it is smart to avoid being beside other cars, and to be watching mirrors to see these idiots weaving through traffic so one can anticipate an open route for sure. But its all good if people just did the speed limit~

    • @AzNightmare
      @AzNightmare Рік тому

      @@lovethemack *NO! If you're not passing, just move to the right. Is not that hard. Literally all someone needs to do. People speed because the speed limits are already ridiculously slow. No one's telling everyone to drive as confidently. Personal factors, vehicle factors. It's all good and much safer if people just move to the right unless passing, so weaving will essentially be impossible.*

    • @lovethemack
      @lovethemack Рік тому

      @@AzNightmare There is NO rational to excuse speeding or the disregard of any traffic law. But especially speed limits, as speed is often a contributing factor in serious mvas.

    • @AzNightmare
      @AzNightmare Рік тому

      @@lovethemack *Actually, it's not and a flawed logic. Because by saying "speed" is often a contributing factor, well of course. A vehicle needs to be in motion in order to cause an accident, aka "Speed." Accidents will happen at any speed due to lack of abilities, poor decision making, and distraction, the real culprit. And as already shown in this video, people that left lane hog are instigating road rage and also creating the opportunity to weave.*
