Mentioning that humans are not native to Roshar is somewhat of a spoiler. Otherwise a great video! I didn't realize that the floating cities were in Ashyn.
Agree.. its a minor spoiler but not worth worrying about considering most people who watch this have most likely already read Stormlight and /or Mistborn series
@@jbwise2002 That reveal is a huge twist in the books that flips the head on everything we've learned to that point, so it is not a minor spoiler. Just because most of the viewers have already read up to that point doesn't make it okay to have spoilers in a so called "spoiler free" video.
This video's title has been changed to reflect my thoughts on the matter, I've also added a pinned comment to better explain my spoiler policy. I love how you just droped one of the biggest spoilers of the books. Its so heavy a spoiler that it only is reveled om the last book released thus far lmao
Thank you I just reread the Arcanum unbound and this video helped a lot with understanding threnody and the other planets. I think I like roshar and threnody the most but I think everyone is awesome
What an outstanding video! I love your planet model animation and your passionate, clear explanations which provide little spoilers:) Though I was expecting to see you talking about Obrodai, Vax and Mythos (which hasn't been known by the time you made this video). Also it's a little pity to not seeing continents of Sel and Scadrial showing up in planet animation. Still, a feasty video to watch, thank you so much!
Excellent video sir! Nice co-host as well :D Just wanna mention that the dragons in the Cosmere are known to live extremely long lives, as Frost, who we admittedly know very little about, is even older than Hoid. Another dragon is also revealed, but this one is highly Invested and so has another reason to live this long lol
Thanks a ton! My co-host also says hello 😁 I am pretty convinced that dragons are functionally immortal, but unfortunately we just don't have enough evidence about them yet to say either way. Frost may be special, but again we just have no idea yet. I guess we just have to keep reading!
Are you asking about Cultivation? She was a dragon before her participation in the Shattering and becoming the vessel for Cultivation. I guess she still is a dragon, but as a Shard-Vessel, she's also quite a bit more than just that, now. Is she the Rosharan dragon you're asking about? Also, we get to know another dragon in "Tress of the Emerald Sea". I was surprised this planet wasn't mentioned, with its intriguing inhabitation of so much Aether.
I plan on covering those when all the secret projects are out. I originally had a section in here going over those planets, but realized we just don't have enough to go off yet
As a fantasy writter I love the idea of weird and alien high fantasy planets like Roshar because they are so diferent, but I also love when they are simple yet so diferent as in Sel (wich was the first planet that i read with Elantris) because i like to imagine how diferent life would be just by having magic. Really cool video
*SPOILERS for secret novel previews*: I'm really excited for the new worlds we got a sneak peak of from the secret novels and how they potentially relate to other systems. It's awesome seeing the diversity of magics and investiture in the Cosmere as the universe is further developed.
I can't wait to learn more about these worlds! All of the planets from the secret projects look like they're going to be super interesting, I can't wait to dive further into each of them
I've been wanting to see people get into the specifics the Cosmere for a while. My favorite moment in the whole Cosmere is when Navani is talking about how fabrials work and the way it connects to the properties of allomancy
It seems like metals have some pretty universal properties across the Cosmere. Planning on doing some future videos on how they tend to interact with magic and how it relates to allomancy
@@LoreoftheWorlds color, sound, and water are also things that have had connections with multiple magic systems. It's still unclear for the specific meaning of different colors (Navini did note about the different colors of gems at the same time she was talking about the metals) but ROW gets pretty deep into explaing sound and at least 2 systems have used water as a fuel source. Interestingly while silver isn't an allomantic metal it has been shown to kill things that otherwise have been hard to kill. There's different categories of invested beings so I'd guess it would effect anything of the same categories. Trying to stay vague to avoid spoilers I'll just say both of those things were microbes I don't know if you can tell but I get excited by the science of the magic systems lol
This was a great video and very informative! I just did my own deep dive, of sorts, on the different systems in the Cosmere. Not only did I not remember anything you missed, you taught me a fair amount I missed in my own research, especially when it comes to Yolen. Keep up the awesome work, and I hope that as the Cosmere expands, so will you. Best of luck!

Spoilers Oathbringer: I would argue that though the migration is only fully revealed at the end of book 3, the real spoiler is moreso that it was the humans that brought odium over with them. Without the context of the greater odium/ original voidbringers reveal, the migration over is more or less just an interesting fact, and less so a spoiler. All this being said, i am open to hearing your personal opinion as to why this may be incorrect
@@LoreoftheWorlds that's not how the book frames it at all. The characters are specifically shocked and dismayed by the human/voidbringer mix up, not the fact that they brought Odium. I don't really think that comes up very often.
So far (and I feel like I've barely begun) Scadrial is my favorite. The ideals of balance (Harmony) and the progression of technology and society are what I find most fascinating, but also the (often combined and interacting) magic systems add levels of complexity that keep me rooted in the stories. Finally, the treatment of religion, both as an historical reference and institution, add just that extra bit of granularity to the planet, as well as an underlying theme.

I've always had trouble remembering all of them. Thanks bro. Also, do you have any theories for where tress of the emerald sea, dark one, aether of night or the nightmare painter take place?
I have sooooo many ideas for these! I was actually planning on talking about all of them in this video (esp. secret project planets).
