Coming off the questions about disability and healing and identity: if someone has internalized a physical disability as a part of themselves enough, would that disability stay when they were healed because it's part of their internal identity?
I think the disability would stay most likely, we've seen some examples of that. Another example is Kaladin, who can't heal his slave brands even when other Windrunners do. I think that has to do with how he views the brands. We also know the tones are also similar to the pulses Seekers gets. Can such a Singer also naturally become a Seeker as well by training to experience allomantic pulses which have been stated to be smaller versions of the Well's pulses, which again were confrmed to be at least one of the "pure tones of Scadrial" in another WOB. So can all Singers, with training, be Seekers with just their natural abilities? Another WOB said Seekers could also detect others uses of magic other than those on that world. I would guess that 1. all Singers with enough breath could effectively become Seekers, but not all Singers unenhanced, because there is a difference between being able to *distinguish* tones clearly and *perceive* tones if they're faint, and IIRC Singers basically only have the former. 2. a Singer that does this would probably still have smaller detection *range* than a true Seeker who is actually burning metals. I wouldn't expect Nalthis to have 7 true tones. My guess would be that all Endowment investiture has the same tones, and *maybe* an Endowment Avatar's investiture would have a different true tone than Endowment proper, but you don't get a different true tone purely off changing hue. No, I don't mean spoil everything right now mwuahahah. Lol obviously. I don't know how to explain it. It's not like those old QA spoiled everything every question.
Blame the people asking the questions lmao. It would be objectively dumb to answer something that spoils a book that's not out yet.
Edit: I can't believe you've been complaining about this for 9 months. wtf? We are lucky he answers questions in the first place. If rafos upset you stop watching these hahahaha.
I will say that there were almost no RAFOs at the Q&A in Tampa - I think one? Maybe two? Some really great stories.
“Hey man, why won’t you spoil more of your intricate worldbuilding when we get to ask you questions, something almost know other authors do in large format?” Come on bro. Enjoy the journey.
Honestly, it's just the fault of the people who asked the questions. If you ask a question that won't spoil a book, there's a good chance he'll answer it.
Also, the fact that Brandon RAFO'ed something still reveals some info because of the fact that he wasn't willing to answer the question
ALSO, Jordan RAFO'ed so much more that Brandon. And at least they answered any questions. A lot of authors on give us new info in the form of another release.
ALSO, you get a RAFO card as a keepsake, which is really cool
I know you're probably a troll, but come on. At least say something divisive. Literally nobody else agrees with this opinion.
Pretty sure his recent interview on shardcast had 1, maybe 2 RAFOs
