I actually ultra-cheated the Hide & Seek game on my first run on tactician: as soon as the second part started I activated turn based mode, used Volo eye to see Oliver and pickpocketed him. He has the reward on him so I got the reward before winning the game. Afterwards I also won the game without triggering any fights and out of thin air he PRODUCED a normal not-magic ring as a backup reward since he could not find the main reward.

I wished it had a special icon or a unique name, I would have kept it as an achievement in my camp chest. Unfortunately, it's just a simple ring with an ultra-rare condition for its acquisition.

I’m pretty sure If you talk to the ogre in the “bunk room” on the right as you enter the main door. She’s in the room behind the bugbear merchant. If you talk to her you can get one of those “secret markers” pointing you to the flesh in the walls which is the absolutes voice
Yes, And if you go back to her after interacting with the crack there are dialogue options to tell her that the sound she's been hearing id the Absolute.
Personally I like the option of showing her the Owlbear Egg, which prompts her to ask if you're sure that's a Gith egg, to which you can reply "No, it's an Owlbear's. I just like it."
My class is Barbarian and not only do I let the Owl Bear mom live, I even have Shadowheart heal her It doesn't stop the Gobbos from killing her later but at least I still helped her.

If you listen in on an early conversation between Shadowheart and Lea'zel you find out that killing is actually a good thing in Gith custom as it is seen as culling the weak
#3: You don't even have to talk to the Owlbear mother, if you use the back entrance (requires being smaller) the moment you enter you will be in combat, but you can just use the hole again and leave, this alone is enough to trigger the Goblins killing her and the owlbear cub at the goblin camp after a long rest.
With the owlbear mother you don't even have to interact with her. Wild shape into a cat and you can assess the ledge in the cave from a burrow just outside Moonhaven. It marks her as 'encountered' and resets the case when you leave to the goblind killing her.
The first time I played the hide & seek game I won. I had no idea it was supposed to be hard until another playthrough. Usually just fight him with an all elf/half-elf crew (to avoid the sleep effect). With Shadowheart and Halsin it's a pretty short fight.
2 - the kid gives you the ring, but he says I win instead if you just beat up the shadows 3 - I avoided the fight with the owlbear just to get the supplies up the walk... still got the cub (ie the Armored owelbear call at the end)... I tend not to fight the Owlbear but the easy way to kill her (and her mate) is to use your CCs (command is effective)... my brother likes to bring along those two cronies to avenge their brother's death, but they attack the cub so I don't bring them 4 - magic chest is skeevy crap like picking up merchants to throw and then teleporting yourself... I don't do that... although I do use the arcane lock trick cuz that's funny 7 - I always did it that way... although if you produce the artifact, she lets you move on, you just fight them on the end of the walk later rather than in the room, which is preferable if you have an invisibility potion or character to pull off an ambush as they're all gathered up for AOE damage already... however I always kill the Gith Inquisitor before the confrontation with Vlakith... funny thing about that... if you don't bring Laezel, you don't even have to go in the astral prism, you can just go get the mace, the wicked loot in that room, and be done with it 8 - I knew about the crack in the wall... seemed like an unfinished part of the game so I kept exploring what was going on... in the end... just nonsense
Is it just me, or does the absolute voice sound like the narrator? Not the first part, but when it shrinks down and talks in sentences.... wouldn't that be wild if the narrator you hear is the absolute guiding you to free it?
I pickpocketed the shard because I didn’t know that giving the artifact to the captain gives you free entry into the next room. I used Oliver’s own spells against him and turned myself invisible and used turn based mode to win hide and seek the second time. I never got the owlbear cub due to a glitch. Apparently if you interact with the Selunite chest BEFORE talking to the owlbear mother, it creates a glitch where no matter how many times you long rest, the goblins will never kill her. And since I didn’t want to kill her myself, well… never got the cub.
You need to tell the 2 Absolute Cultist to go survive. They had their leader killed by the Owlbear and will tell the Goblin of its whereabouts at their encampment. It's not a bug, it's just the Goblins never knew of its location without them being alive. If you kill the Owlbear without them, the Owlbear Cub most likely wanders off itself to search for food and gets captured.

word on the fake eye, it's nice but it also eliminates the possibility of doing crits unless they are guaranteed. Which is why I let Shadowheart get the eye, because she can't hit for shit anyways lol
@@pmarreck The inability to crit isn't a thing anymore, by the way. I only knew it _was_ a thing after reading this comment and looking through people talking about the change. If you have any playthroughs recently where someone got the eye and never crit again, it seems you just got very unlucky!
If you do fight the owl bear, just throw grease under it's feet. A lot of times it just slips and easy picking. Just be mindful not to use fire like Everburn blade that you could get on the ship and start a fire that would kill the baby owl too 😅 As with the Gith egg, as of writing this and in Patch 7, if you hand the stolen egg over then steal it back and talk to Lae'zel she would have a dialog criticizing you for handing the egg over and suggest we take it back via force from her, however, since you already stole it back prior (even if in her inventory possession) she would still say that line. She also have the another dialog asking her how she feels about [protecting] the egg so it seems like there is a bit of a dialog bug there for the condition.
@@Lumpenproletarian look at it this way, most of her endings end in her dying horribly. Either in dying in fire, or becoming a Mind Flayer which is a fate worse then death. I know this is kind of a sharran take, but why give her a glimpse of happiness by saving her only to take it right away again at the end of the campaign? Worse she is unclaimed, so she is going to spend the rest of eternity in the Fugue Plain regardless. So unless you plan on specifically romancing her in your campaign so you can take her to Avernus and try to find a cure, it is a mercy to just kill her in the grove. Edit: It really bugs me they gave her such a tragic endings compared to the others. Like, I would like to be able to romance other characters without condemning someone as sweet as Karlach to a horrible death. For instance, sacrificing Gale to save Orpheus isn't nearly as heartbreaking because he was willing and because he is claimed by Mystra. You're literally just sending him off to an eternity with his hot goddess GF. Sacrificing yourself sucks but you're the MC, you got plot armor so you get to be the only mind flayer with a soul. Sacrificing Orpheus sucks for the Gith but who cares?? lmao Karlach really gets the short end of the stick. Anyway rant over. sorry.
When I interacted with the break in the wall I never got any conversation with the VOICE, I got "It pulls at you pulling you in and you pull yourself back at the last minute." But then again I never took any other worms, never invested in the worm abilities, and only worked towards getting rid of it and weakening it.

Hide and win... hide and have one character go into the house, easier if you have see invisible. Egg Breaker need not be done in front of her. I broke it accidentally in the chresh where its found, and the lady goes hostile, when told of its destruction. Unexpected...... that is my normal way of doing things, as I always refuse to give the Gith the artifact, which leads to a fight.

Fyi do the Cracked Wall in Moonrise BEFORE you go into Thorms Tomb and free Nightsong. It WILL give you a debuff that you do not want to have in that final fight.
The Lone Wyll one isnt that secret, it just normally requires you to pick Wyll as an Origin character at CC instead of a Tav character. So I guess it's uncommon in the respect that most people prefer tabs than the origin characters to play.
I have fought the Mommy, Daddy and Dog monster only in my first playthrough because I did not care about the outcome. The second playthrough I have not fought them but successfully won the hide & seek game. Currently, I am at the 3rd playthrough and I won again. On the 4th playthrough I will go the evil route and wipe out the Druid settlement. Have not made out my mind on what class should I pick. Druid would be ironic. Paladin I have already played. Warlock......could work because Wyll will not agree to this and Karlach would be dead in the evil playthrough. She is useless because she would leave you anyway. So, why keep her alive and have an extra annoying enemy, right? Out of all the companions only 2 will stay by your decisions (Astarion & Shadowheart), two are conditional (Gale & Lae'zel) with the 2 that you will lose (Wyll & Karlach). In this evil playthrough I would also have no Halsin because he would be dead. Same with Jaheira. So, keeping that in mind.....I do not know for a fact the condition to not lose Gale without starting a romance or Lae'zel without going full Gythyanki route. My party would look like this: Me, Minthara, Astarion & Shadowheart. The issue here is that I have an allergy to having 2 support members (which makes Bard a bad choice), I would rather have 1 dedicated support in the party.
If you think a bard is a support character, you don't know the power of an 11lvl bard with just 1 wizard level, wielding a crown of 17Int. So. Much. Spells. So. Much. Power!

I killed him and took it, it is possible to out damage his regen.

I did that, then killed her and pickpocketed the egg again so I can sell it for more gold.
I like seeing the gith or owlbear cub at baldur's gate, more storie > more gold, in my opinion.

Do you have to avoid reading the prayer in order to pick up the Selunite chest. Everytime I go near it the prayer activates and the glow vanishes.
