That has to be the best balanced and most thoroughly useful review I've seen, of anything, great job, thank you!

I couldn't agree more. Just researching replacing my open runs (broke the band because I kept pulling of tops forgetting I was wearing them).
This was a very thorough and credible review.

I have both the Openrun Pro and the Openfit and my usecsse for both may be outside of the norm. I use my Openrun Pro primarily where I work. The battery can last me my full shift without the need to recharge. Also the fact it is bone condition and leaves both ears open, this allows me to get around the "one ear open rule." The only downside is the headband which does not allow me to lay on the couch to watch TV, or just lay down and listen until I go to sleep. This is where my use case for the Openfit are different. I literally bought them so I can listen to my music when I'm just relaxing or going to sleep at night. They are absolutely perfect for that. I'm pretty happy with both of these headphones.
Quick tip on sound quality which applies to both. (Or any ear bud or headphones) If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone made in the past few years, go into your sound settings and EQ mode. Set up adapt sound. This works like a hearing test but it EQ's your phone's audio output to how you hear and to the audio device your using. It's night and day, do this and I promise you'll never look back to the standard EQ again.

Slept in my openruns 3 days in a row, unintentionally as i would just get to my bed and pass out, but they stayed on

what eq mode would you recommend? For example I have Bose Quitcomfort and sometimes I can barely hear the vocals, especially female. pretty annoying.

the problem with the openrun pro is the volume. compared to the standard openrun, they are very weak. kind've strange considering they are the more expensive of the two. haven't tried openfit yet but would like to.

Great overview Boss. I like my Openfit for normal days but getting concerned about when the weather gets cold and I need a knit hat for warmth.

I have the open pro mini, I find the battery charges quickly and to be long lasting compared to my Power Beats that used to die on the left ear after 20 min. I keep getting ads or promo emails from shokz after I bought mine, they even sometimes have offers with a bundle of two headphones which got me wondering why would I need a second pair (obviously not talking about gifting to others etc.)? For example, I only have one pair of sunglasses and thing maybe I'd need a second or lenses if I get bored of the colour or have different light conditions. For headphones, they are just playing sound so I don't see a scenario where I need a second pair, so I don't really get the marketing, am I missing something?

I Love Getting Ads From Shokz Because Usually It's When Something Is On Sale .
I Saved $20 Off The OpenFit So I Returned The Pair I Bought From A Local Store And Bought The OpenFit From Shokz Website .

For people on the fence and worried about the sound quality which keeps getting brought up. I would say most people probably only have one set of headphones they use. In my case i use open runs only and because of that only have the sound from a single device to judge without needing to constantly compare as will be the case with "tech reviewers" who are constantly comparing many different products so miss the point that most people will get used to the single sound of one pair of headphones. In that situation your ears get so used to the sound created, they sound great, so please don't let sound quality put you off as to me it sounds great for music and podcasts and you wont be disappointed at all.

Depends what you are looking for. The Openrun work great for me for background music whilst running outside. The openfit don't fit well for everyone.

Yeah I Love The OpenFit Sound .
Still Use My OpenRun Pro More As I Kill The OpenFit (7Hours Per Charge) AKA Before My Day Is Over And The OpenRun Pro Last 12 To 14 Plus Hours And Are Impossible To Kill The Battery . I Think I've Only Ever Killed My OpenRun Pro Maybe A Handful Of Time . I've Kill Open Fit And Its Case Already More Times Than I Can Count . .

Is there a new version of the openrun? Because if there isn't one from within the last year then the noise cancelling is a complete lie. It picks up everyone around me at almost the same volume. It's impossible for people to hear me with near by people talking normally, crying babies, hardware stores, wind, car backup beepers.
Well I didn't buy the openrun for that, and they didn't advertise noise cancelling when I bought them. I bought the opencomm for that, and it worked for a few months... But once the return period was over people said I was quiet and it was like I was talking in a tunnel. Absolutely worse noise cancelling ever too. The only way it works is if I take it off my ears and put it right in front of my mouth. They should have used a longer boom if they aren't going to work.
Does anyone else have similar experiences. It's been about a year since I bought them now. Thought the warranty was only a year, guess not. Wasn't sure if it was worth warrantying because it seemed like a flawed.
That said, I still enjoy both products and love them both for different reasons when they work. Opencomm seems to work fine sometimes and not so much other times like I discussed earlier. I sleep with the openrun, and almost wear them all the time including the shower from time to time. The battery life is really long because if your not playing anything it will stay in standby all day without using too much power. Lastly the water proofing my be compromised when the outer layer of silicone starts to slide at the color shift. I sanitize them with alcohol which may have slowly removed some of the adhesive over time in some parts so I can actually rub and move the black silicone to see what's underneath. I wonder what kind of adhesive they use so I can reglue it. Besides lack of true noise cancelling I love the openrun (IP67) more than the Opencomm. Once in a while I need to take them off due to the slight pressure adding to an already building headache from being over tired or stressed.

Be a bit careful with the OpenRun andOpenMove headphones. One day I went to put them on and found the wire had gotten twisted near the left ear piece, and there was no possible way it would sit on my head properly. Had to throw them out and buy a new pair, that I now keep in a solid container whenever they’re not in use.

Just bought the OpenFit to judge them, and see if I'd prefer them over Bone Conducting technology, Mostly in a work environment.
I am not really someone who does a lot of sports, but I do ride a (mountain)bike very often (and fast, too) to my work. So I'll see if wind is a big factor. I'll probably use them more for during work (in a big shed with much other loud noises) and casual time on the couch.
I'll update this comment after I have been able to use them:
First week at work with them and can't say I'm disappointed. They of course don't sound amazing like some other brands at this price range, but I wouldn't say they are far off either.
At first I had to get used to "wearing" them (because at first they did tire my ears), but now I could probably wear them all day without too much strain.
It's funny how they work, because if you wear them with music actively playing and as much as you bend your ear, you realize the impact the devices have on air around your ears. Music quality is pretty great at mediocre/higher tones, but the real heavy bass does lack quite a bit, even if you use the app. In my experience the lower tones can sound better, if you compensate by lowering the volume. But these will probably never reach bass-like experiences like normal earbuds do. So I wouldn't advise these to anyone who is into heavy bass stuff. But for average radio-ish music these will do fine. Pretty good even 🤔, I think...

I have openrun pro and 12 to 14 plus hours on a single charge is what I get and they do Sound slightly better than open run which are the aeropex just with fast charging added .
My Open Fit Have Much Richer.More Enjoyable Sound But Only.7 Hours Per Charge .
I Skipped OpenRun As OpenRun Pro Have Better Sound Especially In The Bass And Depending On What I'm ListeningnTo Bass Is Quite Great .

I bought this model, and I have some problems with this headphone
1- single or double click has the same beep, and while listening to music, it is a bit confusing
2- headphone ergonomy is very bad for wearing a hat in winter or lay down on the pillow and same bad experience with bicycle helmets
3- There is no auto switch off system. If you forget to turn off its work to drain all of the battery juice
4- I miss the piroxymeter sensor. This device does not have any system or hardware to know if you are wearing headphone or not
5- There is no option to turn off welcome and battery level voice assistance

I have the old Aftershokz Aeropex and was having a few questions regarding the new ones before maybe buying them...which you instantly answered ;)
Apart from your number 2 I have basically the same complaints with these headphones, although the worst thing for me is the same beep for everything. Not knowing if I skipped to the next track or paused the recent one often lead to a "redial last number" situation because I wanted to skip tracks while in pause mode. That's the reason I had to deactivate the call functionality in the bluetooth settings on my phone.
