I am an average runner and cyclist who has never used head phones to exercise. This will give you all you need to know without unnecessary details. I will also tell you why I went with the openrun pro vs open run)

Excellent review! I just got mine today and I agree with everything you said. I even confirmed that you can actually use them with foam earplugs at the same time, if you wanted. For example, if you were on an airplane and wanted to use them while blocking out the engine noise. Or I guess you could use the earplugs while sleeping and still be able to listen to music.

Could never get a pair of Earbuds to fit me and went with the base Open Run model, and I'm decently impressed. I am a little disappointed with the audio quality but this was to be expected since they're not inside my ear.
However I do like the IP67 water resistance of the Open Run and how easily it fits on my head. And absolutely love how I can still hear my environment when out on my walks.

I love my Shokz headphones. Bought the AfterShokz Aeropex in Dec 2020 and still use them regularly.

This only work in a quiet area not in the noisy area at all. Don’t waste your money, unless you in the office setting or library.
Agree a bit. If you compare with earbud there is no comparison but still good overall.
It’s pretty quiet on the trails. But a am a little surprised that you thought that “open ear” would work in a noisy setting 🤔
I work for a company that won't let you wear earbuds, you can wear these and if you use these with ear plugs they work great.

Maybe I'm wearing them wrong but I cannot hear the deep bass that they claim, in fact there's no bass whatsoever making the overall sound very flat. Very disappointed.
Bummer. Maybe you are. I love em and everyone I know with them raves about them.
Shokz, don't use them for music. It is delusional if some one thinks music could sound even good. The cheapest headphones will always sound better.
