Celebs are: Joan Rivers, Jim Morris, Jayne Meadows & Steve Allen, Jm J. Bullock, Yakov Smirnoff, Don King, Khrystyne Haje & Kimberly Russell, Charo, and Shadoe Stevens
The late Joan Rivers(1933-2014) & Charo appeared not only on John Davidson,s Squares but they were also on the original Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall!!
This aired on WBNG Ch 12 Binghamton at 5:00. It aired just one day after we relocated to Deposit, New York since we left East Keansburg, New Jersey. That's a BIG adjustment from WABC Ch 7 territory.
WOW 😲I just watched a video here on YT about Don King. It was a documentary about how he came up and in it they showed a clip of Don on Hollywood Squares. THIS IS THAT EPISODE!!!! 😃 😆 😃
Well, isn't this nice - third "new" episode posting in a week and a half. (Last week someone posted a USA airing of an episode that seems to be from around June 1988, then Monday, Wink Martindale posted a master of an early episode from 1986.)
Always the possibility that a given episode will air off-date, given the nature of syndication, but that doesn't seem likely here, since they would have just spent the past two weeks before this at Radio City Music Hall. There's no mention of that, nor of Lisa having waited those two weeks to come back as champion, so perhaps 11/24 is indeed correct.
On Monday 11/23, the show opens in a darkened studio with the champion Lisa "sleeping" in a bed. IIRC, John comes in and wakes her up and tells her that everybody's back from their two weeks in New York. I would agree that this is probably Tuesday.
@@zachhoran I'll have to see if I can screenshot it. I recorded over the full episode when it first aired so I literally have about 1-2 seconds at the most.

This aired on my sisters 2nd birthday.

5:15 Don King for the win!
Do have the 25 May 1987
Episode of new hollywood squares?
Day after my birthday
The week that Joan Rivers passed away, she was supposed to either appear in a sketch of/or host SNL. She’d have rock it like a boss!
11/23 was a Monday in 1987. Mick Jagger was on Entertainment Tonight on 11/24/1987(Tue), as per a web search. So this is probably from 11/24.

@@michaelj.kerkau1625 By the time of Davidson Squares, bicycling was no longer, meaning everyone sees the same episode on the same date in all cities,

@@robh748 I didn't remember that. November 1987 I don't have as much game show memory of as other months of the era.

Perhaps fitting that Don King is a square here, as this one's certainly a fast-paced slugfest.
What a terrible panel of hacks!!
