Her clothes and jewelry are top class. I bought a necklace for my mother one time. It was the first piece of Joan’s jewelry I ever bought. My sister saw it, she loved it. I valued her opinion cause she always shopped at high end stores even for costume jewelry. When I told her it was Joan’s she loved it. Wanted to keep it when mother died. Of course I said sure. She thought I should have it. Also mom used to wear my jewelry. I’d come to her house and she’d say I like that. I want to wear it a while. So I’d take it off and give it to her. I had a smoky topaz ring I bought from this girl that lost her fiancé in a car accident shortly before their wedding. My mom wanted to wear it all the time. So I let her. Anyway when she died I took it back. One day my sister said I can’t find mothers ring. I asked which one? She told me the smoky topaz. I said it’s was mine I took it home with me. She said no the one mom wore all the tine. I said yes. So I got it out of my jewelry box and cleaned it up and wrapped it up and gave it to her for Mother’s Day. lol She loves it. Wears it allot. I hardly ever wore it. I’m glad to give it to my sister since she loved it so much.
Randy M - It’s cuz she always saw herself as one of us. People would stop her and she would allow photos and quick chats. What a woman. I feel blessed to have been around to experience her brilliance.
She was so sweet! When she said " I love to be generous and be that aunt or someone you can come to when in need." It still makes me upset she has passed :(
It's 10 years after her passing...and I still miss Joan. Whenever she would come on, no matter the program--I would always stop and listen. She was a one in a million stellar comic, and a genuine person. "A Piece of Work" was--and still is--an extraordinary documentary.
I agree, and I'm 100% the same way. Whenever I heard she was going to make an appearance on The View, Wendy Williams, Howard Stern, or any other talk show, I tuned in. I even watched Fashion Police because of her. I don't really care about fashion, but I watched it to see what Joan was going to say I loved her. I didn't know her, I never met her (I wish I did), but I adored her. She never failed to make me laugh and make me feel good. One of her quotes is one I completely agree with, "If you can take an awful experience from your life and make it funny, it'll save your life." That may not be the exact quote, but it's close enough, and it's so true. Laughter is the greatest medicine in the world. After 10 years since her passing, I still miss her so much. I miss her presence, and I could only wonder what she would be saying today's pop culture and politics. Most people have been saying that if Joan was still alive, she would be canceled. To me, we need more Joan Rivers and Wendy Williams in the world. Society has become too dull. Not many people are saying what most people are thinking. They want to be friends and nice to everyone. They're trying not to offend anyone. It's boring as hell now. Joan is definitely missed, and we need someone like her to break the ice. Love her. I agree about her documentary. I probably watch it once or twice a year. The woman was brilliant and an amazing pioneer and trailblazer. The Queen of Comedy is what I call her.
Whenever I am feeling down all I have to do is watch any clip with dear sweet Joan and I know life is going to be ok. She may be gone but we are all so lucky to be able to watch her here, and her movie "A Piece Of Work" shows no matter how down and out you are that you must just keep on keeping on. Thank you thank you thank you Joan!!!!
Always loved Joan Rivers. I remember a very long time ago we were together ducking the torrential downpour in Shubert Alley laughing hysterically and there wasn't another soul in sight anywheres! She's a good lady in heart....believe me when I say that- ♡♡♡
Hardest working woman in showbiz! Always so grateful for the opportunity to get even on the crappiest stage in some club in NYC, truly loved what she did! One of a kind. RIP Joan.
Oh how I agree with you. Any celebrities on and no one to even get the energy and laughs that we got from Joan ! It’s not the same so it’s boring as ever to not have JOAN 💔RIP FUNNY BEAUTY LADY🙌🏼🥰⭐️

Best interview I’ve ever watched of Joan, and only one I’ve ever seen where she plays it essentially straight, and shows the intelligent, driven and serious person behind all the comic appearances and jokes. I miss her. ❤️
She was such an angel. If you knew her personally you would know. She seemed excessive but she gave so much away, and not just money. She gave her time and her tears, I miss her dearly.
She was my surrogate mother when my parents divorced. So LOVED her in high school 1980-1983. She got me through those shitty years!!! Thanks Joan😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😟😞😩
Her talking about phones and human disconnect: oh how i feel you Joan. I am in early 30s and I HATE everything about today’s sick culture of social media. Love you Joan.

What a lovely and sincere lady Joan appears in this interview! It must depend on who leads the interview. He lets her speak to the end and some kind of warmth seems to come between the two. Nicely done. I really miss her.

I’m so angry with the “doctors” that had an 80 plus year old woman who they put under anasthesia without life saving equipment available. I had oral surgery in my sixties and there was an oxygen tank in the corner, a heart monitor on my finger and a blood pressure monitor on my arm. Not in chichi New York but northern Virginia. Love you Joan Rivers. You are a trailblazer still; classy, funny, truthful, beautiful. Johnny Carson hurt you so badly and yet you still honor him and his legacy and so many others who let you down.
I wonder why nobody ever talked about how pretty Joan Rivers was. Same with Lucille Ball. It's like once you are a comedian, you aren't pretty anymore.
@@sxnico That could be true. Lucille Ball started out as a beauty model, then a straight actress, then comedy. I think Lucille Ball tried to play down her beauty with make-up, hair, and clothes. Joan Rivers definitely did seem to get prettier over time. I think she suddenly decided to be pretty and started to highlight her beauty more with clothes, make-up, and hair. Anyway, two beautiful women.
@@ClarenceFisher I agree. The amazing thing is that she was 50 years old in 1983 and 60 years old in 1993 and she looked fabulous. Very pretty. My guess is that in her early years Joan Rivers tried to tone down her beauty so it didn't get in the way of comedy.
She worked nonstop and never gave up. How sad that she passed away because of a doctor’s incompetence. She should still be here.
The thing that made it even more horrible was they took pictures while she was under! That's barbaric
Her clothes and jewelry are top class. I bought a necklace for my mother one time. It was the first piece of Joan’s jewelry I ever bought. My sister saw it, she loved it.
