BS. I'm old enough to have followed her since the 70's, and once social media arrived, I quickly noticed that she loved to dish out the insults but was terrible at taking them. Lost a lot of respect for her with that hypocrisy.
She had Johnny Carson's "seal of approval", the most nitpicking yet funnier man in entertainment. The only bad thing about her was the spawn of all of those Joan River's wannabes...
100% the exact same thought I had. That should have been the first person they booked. Those two used to insult each other back and forth without taking a breath. It was amazing lol
@@meepcow6848 Not sure what year this roast took place, but Joan Rivers died in 2014, and Betty White in 2021. So, she was very much alive at the time this took place.
We never thought we'd see the day when Joan Rivers wasn't here. When she died at 81 years old, we were all stunned and we're still stunned. She opened doors for so many and took a lot of punches but always stood up, punched back and kept going. She got the last laugh.
She was also a wonderful author! I listened to her audio book - long before digital services like Audible! - called "Bouncing Back". She didn't have an easy life and gave a great motivational message in that volume.
I greatly admire comedians for their nerves of steel and the heart to laugh at themselves, even when the insults strike close to their very bone. And Joan is a class act. Miss her.
I'm in 100% agreement, a true LEGEND with a ❤ of gold (look up her charity work). Also watch her documentry "A Piece of Work" showing her career and charity. RIP JOAN
Joan always stopped telling jokes about someone if they were offended by what she said, however didn't apologize if it was the truth. RIP JOAN miss you
We really need a comedian like Joan more than ever! A comic genius who never backed down and apologized. We miss you very much and thank you all the laughters that you brought us.
I never knew about The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers until finding UA-cam clips of it. What a shame they cancelled it. Her interviews were great and her musical guest selections were very hip. She had a knack for interviewing people quite different from herself. It's great that Joan was the first woman talk show host, but totally ridiculous they didn't keep running her show, or that no other woman had a show since then.
this was THE BEST Comedy Central Roast EVER! This was the ONLY celebrity roast where the guest of honor truly destroyed everyone on the stage. They all tried to come for Joan, but when she got up there, she read them all for FILTH LOL! Still can't believe she's gone 😢 #JoanRivers
No person full stop has made me laugh as much as Joan! Never a dull moment in any of her shows. Even the best of the best usually have the odd lull in their sets but she was on fire from curtain up to curtain down.
Saw her in person at a theater in the round decades ago and she made us laugh the second she hit the stage and the laughs never stopped. What a show! What a comic icon! Miss you, Joan. 💜❤💜❤
She's one of the few comedians who's ever made me laugh out loud. Her death was such a loss, because she would probably still be up there today, entertaining us...if only.
Miss Rivers is a standalone one of the funniest ladies in comedy ever. She will be sadly missed by comedy lovers for decades to come. She was an unravelled talent.
I am black and that “mudslide” joke was incredibly harmful and offensive, but somehow Joan will always make me absolutely cackle at the most terrible things 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, that joke was as bad as the molestation joke, and I hate myself for how hard I laughed at it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 For the non black people who are confused about why it is offensive, there are several racial slurs referencing "Mud", that specifically target darker skinned Black people.
@@TheSamanthaEdit it's supposed to be offensive, and it's supposed to be funny. If you're having to question the morality of a joke you're missing the point entirely.
She put her life on the line with some of her jokes, utterly fearless woman.
so sensitive. Is a roast is a comedy get over it

“Loved you in saw.” Made my jaw drop yo. 😩😭😩😭😩😭😩

I hollered
Joan's jokes were so much better than everyone roasting her. And of all the plastic faces in Hollywood, her's looked effing great. Miss her so much!
Giraldo and Gottfried we're killing it!
She had Johnny Carson's "seal of approval", the most nitpicking yet funnier man in entertainment.
The only bad thing about her was the spawn of all of those Joan River's wannabes...
yeah, I felt that their jokes on Joan were pretty tiring, repetitive, lame, and not very funny. 🤷🏽♀
It really is
Sorry, you think that face looks "great"?!?!?! Do you have cataracts?
"You used to look your age and now you dont look your species" 😂 Rest in Peace Greg and Joan
She called Robin a mudslide 😂😂😂🤣
Two fantastic comedians.
You are a funny guy!
@@Doggieworld3Show greg giraldo said Robin looked like a "syrup bottle" and 😆

100% the exact same thought I had. That should have been the first person they booked. Those two used to insult each other back and forth without taking a breath. It was amazing lol
I remember seeing that on late night TV interview shows back in the '80s, Joan and Betty certainly had some playful fun together.
@@nathanfitzgerald6651 Definitely. You could tell they really enjoyed going back and forth with each other.
Uhhh Betty White died before this video was posted.... I don't know if this was filmed earlier tho.

Mario Cantone’s set is underrated. The Bette Davis impersonation, the Hebrew name joke, the Grey Gardens reference. He is a great comedian
I dont think the delivery was all there but yeah smart jokes
The Hebrew name joke was hilarious.
Mario is such a funny comedian. 😂😂😂
the bette davis impersonation is incredible...
not really, gay guy doing gay jokes is unimaginative
Everyone wants to hate on Kathy, but Kathy always gives people the credit they deserve. Joan is a trailblazer and icon.
Its because Kathy is an oversaturated comedian. She's everywhere
Yeah. Shes repugnant
People hate Kathy because she's an absolutely disgusting human being who hasn't been funny one day in her life.
She was really close to Joan. Those two women are absolutely incredible. You can tell the connection between them on stage
Kathy became kinda unbearable once she went political. I agree with her politics but she’s pretty cringe now.
The mudslide joke sent me into the atmosphere.
My fav
the shade of it all XD
SENT!!
That was the best one, it slayed me when I first heard it
We had lift off!
You don’t know how much I miss Joan Rivers, she was and is my favorite comic and there will never be another like her.
I know. She was one in a trillion. I miss her so much too. Not just as a comedian but also as a generous human being with the same views and beliefs.
she's not dead...she's in the witness protection program for outing Michelle Obama as a trans- wake up people.
Joan looks so joyful here. You can tell this was a major happy moment for her. RIP. everyone in heaven is laughing a lot more now.
"By the way loved you in Saw", so funny the way she delivered that line!
Gilbert’s whole speech was more romantic than the Fifty Shades Trilogy 🤣🤣🤣
Gilbert Godfried is the only one who made me really lose it
