I purchased Space Engineers a couple weeks ago and am a bit overwhelmed with everything, but your videos have helped me understand the game a lot more than before. I've still got a lot to learn, but it's been a ton of fun. Your content has been very helpful and I wanted to let you know that it is very much appreciated! Thank you!
Your level of creativity with small grids is wonderful. I also have dark lighting as well. I truthfully consider it more comforting than creepy. I've also tinted it with a yellow/orange colour rather than pure white, so it looks a bit like firelight.
I really like your inventory alert system, I always just used interior lights, the LCDs with the percentages is awesome. Suggestion: Sensors for the lights in the hallways so they only light up the small area you are currently in.
I can't for the life of my get the small grid wall to work right. I build the hinge and put the small head on it and can place the small grid blocks on it but when I get to the edge where it mates to the large grid wall there is a gap and I can't close the gaps. Any tips?
I’ve never tried doing something like this specifically, but whenever we use any of the blocks with motion (hinge, piston, rotor), the new grid is basically *always* slightly shorter or longer than the grid you’re trying to “snap” to. Try using a rotor and adjusting the head of the rotor to push or pull the grid into position (one of the menu sliders), or try a piston for ultimate control. This is partially same reason why it’s difficult to make custom airtight doors.
very nice and interesting way to show inventory status as an alternative to scripts. I like it. The change to the refinery room looks great, love the lighting. If you have windows with tinted side facing in, the green light can reflect and looks super nice. The darkness in the tinted glass plus the green reflection looks nice and creepy. Not sure if you have a good place to implement that feature into your build though.
like it mate. but didn't see you use the activate when bellow a % as I use a combo of both settings on event controller for it and gets pretty good results as well.
The entire wall is built off a hinge with a small head. The hinge is in the ceiling out of sight. The one large grid lcd that you see there is actually mounted on the floor. It had to be this way for small lcds to work. You could actually do this with a smaller segment of small grid, I just like overkill.
Works well for power and cargo levels, but I can't get it to work for measuring gas levels in H2 or O2 tanks with the "gas tank filled %" in the event controller. Any thoughts on why?
I have another question if I may sir. You are on an Earth like planet. You have excellent gravity and breathable air. So why are you making everything airtight? I can understandably see if you were on a planet with a thin atmosphere, but not on a planet with a good atmosphere. I also do not understand why you are mining ice as you do not need O2. Maybe it is for hydrogen production because you plan on going to space? Since it is an airtight facility you do need air /O2 production. Is it just your preference or does it actually serve a purpose that I am not thinking enough. Thank kindly in advance for your responses if you do. 😇🫡
@@JagoDragon thank you kindly for that informative response and tip. I did not know that temperature was a real working thing in SE, especially making the suit work harder. I have found out the hard way that lightning strikes work! 😱😂😜🤣😅🤬💀 it all makes sense now. I am playing the solo sandbox with all set to realistic that I can. It’s hard finding experienced players to talk with about SE in Discord. I went to a few channels for SE, channels that content creators have, but I never see anyone in them to try and talk to. Thanks very much. I hope that the V is going good and look forward to seeing new videos when ya post them. Be safe and have fun sir! 😇🫡
not practical in even the slightest for survival or multiplayer - super-gridding and 18+ event controllers? seriously? its like ilmango minecraft builds

Thanks! I thought about using sensors. But it was a balance of what I wanted and what would look good on camera.
I love the panel layout idea
Thanks!

I challenge you to do a super-wall... ores, AND components!!!!!! (including ingots)
Completely doable. And also, no.
I am working on a vid for automated production right now though

Sadly I don't have the space for double glass panes. Other wise I would implement this change.

I can't seem to figure out how to get the small LCD panel to attach to the wall it just falls on the ground.

This is cool. I will need this panel. So, you like dark and creepy? Lighting is good.
Some times I like dark and creepy. It just seemed right for this factory

@comcastjohn I am making it air tight because low air and temp make your suite run out of power quicker. But no, it is not needed.

@@comcastjohn the keen discord is usually active. With only a few trolls.
functional. looks to be very time consuming though. scripts are still vanilla, automatic lcds is definitely easier to use and has more capabilities
Nice wall
Thank you.
No problem, my friends and I just got this game on PlayStation when it released, been interesting to say the least, but I’m quite addicted.
@@JagoDragon would you be interested in joining us sometime?
@@easy9133 perhaps. But as of right now, I don't have the time for another server.
That's cool, but LCD script will just save pcu
I agree. The advantage is that this will work on a game with programmable blocks disabled.
@@JagoDragonstill nice build 👍 btw who would play without scripts 😭
@DUBwithCHEESE some people disable them on servers and it was my understanding that a few of the platform players couldn't use scripts.
@DUBwithCHEESE Sadly, for anyone who plays the game on Playstation, scripts aren't an option.
