The cable could also be a tether, which would attach to a special terminal on a grid and constantly feed the engineer electricity, oxygen and hydrogen. Me and my friend had a discussion over a year ago where we wondered if we could make a tether mod, as it would allow building/designing stuff (in survival) without constantly having to go to the medbay to recharge, but it would be limited by the length of the tether. Tethers are the way we managed the very first spacewalks
advanced survival features would be really cool. I know it isn't their priority but imagine like space minecraft with NPC's food, farming battle bosses...

I think the cable - assuming it's not just decoration on the new suit - could be used for grappling around if you don't have a jetpack, or run out of fuel.
Also, early access isn't really a shock. The original was in EA for quite some time.
Yeah but I assumed they wouldn't be updating SE1 and SE2 at the same time, SE1 has updates (more than 1) confirmed to be coming next year
Every time Zer0 blurts out "Cable!" I am reminded of Nostalgia Chick's review of Labyrinth... as she couldn't help blurt out "Package!" every time David Bowie was on screen in his tight leather pants. XD
It has been a running meme in Zer0's coverage of SE2 for a minute now, but the simplified "Cable!" in this video definitely sounds like Nostalgia Chick's "Package!". Captain America's "I understood that reference" seems very apropos. It led me down a Wikipedia Rabbit Hole, I wind up with a quote from James Tiberius Kirk saying "Did he just... punch my ship?", and I leave thinking that this is for the birds,...
Space engineers 1 destruction was good, but this, this will look actually realistic imagine The Expanse space battles, they will look like this
Fr, I’ve got Halo ships that I wanna see what it would look like if they got hit by plasma weapons or just normal kinetic weapons.
The physics and destruction in SE were well ahead of their time. It's one of the things that drew me in all those years ago during early access.
imagine the rope can act like a tether and anchor to a point. could improve pvp and pve by alloying you to attach to enemy ships and not fly off
Yes, I love your Big Red Button 😍
The cable is probably an astro hacker cable.
Already told my loved ones I will be dead when this game releases in Early Access for about a week.
