    I spent a little more today to get the embrace 360. Seeing both at the store, it just looked nicer having the frame go all the way around. Also bought a strong low profile foundation. I gave up on platform beds with their weak slats, or slats that are spaced too far apart which severely cut the mattress lifespan a lot.

    Hi! I'm so excited I just purchased an EnGauge online for my new Latex mattress that I'm about to order. After two bad experiences with a sagging mattress I realized that much of that probably DID have something to do with the frame, so I bit the bullet and sprung for this one. Also, upon my search I realized that there were very few frames out there that were built COMPLETELY level. Some that seemed strong enough through the rails had wonky feet that would collapse and others that seemed strong and sturdy had a 0.5 difference from the rails to the center support bar... which would mean that the center beam from my my box frame wouldn't even touch the center beam of the metal frame without a little dip. May not seem like a big deal but it was to me. I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to respond to my request for a recommendation on a mattress last month. My endless research and comparisons finally lead me to latex. All the best ~A~

    I work for the company that works for the company that makes these frames! We put a lot of design expertise into them! they certainly are as good as Michael says they are. The load test of 2500 lbs is no joke. individual legs were tested in a press, but we did a static test on a 4 legged sample size frame with several bags of concrete sitting on the frame for several years! you won't be disappointed if you buy one.

      @@goodbed I couldn't ask for much more in a bed frame. It takes longer to get out of the box than it does to assemble. With this frame, I know that any creaks or movement come from the mattress and box springs (no real way around that). The frame is heavy and solid, and it should basically last forever. The frame was much more expensive than the $89.00 frame they sold me with the bed, but that thing flexed and groaned with the slightest movements with the relatively thin steel and spindly legs.

    I bought this frame based on this video. We went from a cheap old metal frame to the enGauge and the motion transfer is worse with the engauge. Yes, our mattress is an innerspring mattress so some motion transfer is expected but I’m so disappointed in the engauge frame.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 днів тому

      Hi there -- Thanks for your comment, and very sorry to hear about your experience. FWIW, the only explanation I can think of for how this frame could be the cause of worsened motion isolation is if your floor is not 100% level, meaning the weight is not evenly distributed across the legs. In that case, the increased strength and stability of this frame would actually be a negative since it wouldn't just bend to accommodate the contours of the floor, and would instead tend to "rock" back and forth as weight is shifted on the mattress - sort of like a wobbly table at a restaurant. So that might be something to check. If it's not that, then I would have to assume there must be some defect with the specific unit you received. I hope that's helpful.

    • @keeganwhite203
      @keeganwhite203 2 дні тому

      @@goodbed Thank you so much for the reply. It is an older home so I'll check the floor. If that's not the case then I agree that it might be a defect because I consistently see positive reviews for the frame.

    I purchased King size embrace and you can NOT put it inside a headboard/side rail/footboard. The sides sit out too far/rounded. I even removed the piece of wood that runs down the side rails still a no go. Need another 1”+. Then I said I would ditch the footboard & side rails and just attach the headboard, but, the metal slots on the frame don’t line up with the metal threads on the headboard. I will try to just screw it in but not sure how well that will hold.

      Hi Jacqueline -- Ugh, I'm very sorry that this didn't work smoothly with your bed. Unfortunately, furniture tends to be very idiosyncratic. So sadly, this case is a good example of why we couldn't say in the video that doing this will definitely work (only that it will "likely" work). In any case, I really appreciate you sharing this experience and hope your solution ends up working out in the end.

      @@seanthompson1980 I never got a reply, but I got slippage because I used a box spring and then the mattress on top. If you don't use a box spring then the mattress would fit in grooves and not slip on it's own but like most of us, we all use box springs to prevent mattress getting damaged. Hi Arin -- You're right that for most people, the enGauge will provide plenty of strength, in which case the added strength of the emBrace is not going to be a big factor. For those people, the main difference between the emBrace and enGauge will be the aesthetics, which of course is entirely a matter of personal preference. I hope that's helpful.

      Hi Sean. We don't cover those products, but you're correct in thinking you'll need a sturdier support for today's heavier mattresses. The Zinus brand seems to get great overall reviews on Amazon. We tend to like metal box supports generally, and bunkie boards that have a frame, which really helps hold them in place, like this one: www.amazon.com/Zinus-Assembly-Bunkie-Board-Replacement/

    Please answer ASAP, I already have a king bed with head and footboard and the 3 cheap slats already broke. Can I fit this (EmBrace) inside of my existing king size bed? Thank you.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  3 роки тому +1

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Just to be clear, this frame is not a substitute for slats. As you can see in the video, there is only one cross bar here, and that's not nearly enough to support a mattress on its own. To support a mattress you need slats that are spaced no more than 3" apart. Put differently, slats are a type of foundation -- an alternative to a box spring or a platform bed. This is a frame, which is something that a box spring or platform would rest on.
      As for whether it will fit inside your existing furniture, I'm afraid this is impossible for us to answer without knowing the exact dimensions of your furniture. That being said, what I can say is that there certainly are beds whose dimensions would allow you to drop this frame right in. If you are averse to measuring, the dimensions of this frame are going to be very close to the dimensions of a mattress in that same size. So if after you remove the existing slats from your bed, there is room to drop your mattress through it with perhaps a smidge extra to spare, then I would think this frame would drop right in nicely. But you'll still need some kind of solid surface to put on the frame to go under your mattress.
      I hope that's helpful.

    • @ToOpen6seven
      @ToOpen6seven 3 роки тому

      @@goodbed Yes that was very helpful and thank you for responding. I didn't even know you had responded. I am sorry if I wasn't clear, my bed has a mattress and a box spring already and the wooden slats and legs broke. I have since then purchased the Knickerbocker bedbeam for all 3 of my beds to replace the 3 slats. All of my bedroom sets have side rails and footboards so you are correct with no being able to use Embrace or Engage bed frame. I do have another bedroom that only has a mattress and box spring and I may be able to use the knickerbocker frame in that instance.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  3 роки тому +1

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. This is a bed frame, but as you can see there is only one bar going across the middle, so it is most definitely not a platform that could support a mattress without a foundation. A platform would require either a solid surface or slats placed no more than 3" apart. So, with some DIY ingenuity and some plywood, you could probably turn this into a platform, but what it's meant for out of the box is to place a foundation / box spring on it, and then place your mattress on top of that. I hope that's helpful.

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. This foundation does not have casters (ie, wheels), so you would just lift it to move it. If you had to slide it though, you could. The feet are smooth and relatively wide and even have a slightly beveled bottom edge that would make it even easier to slide across a carpet. That said, if it's on hardwood floor, we would probably recommend putting a felt pad on the bottom of each foot, just like you might for any other piece of furniture. I hope that's helpful.

      Yes that was very helpful. If you don't mind just 2 more questions please, I like to store things under the bed like 7-7.5 inches tall. Will 7 thru 7.5 inches fit under this bed and which support do you think is more sturdier, the vertical or the horizontal for the middle beam, is there a big difference of the 2? Thanks

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  5 років тому +2

      @@screeech1 No problem. Re: your other two questions:
      1) TBH I'm not 100% sure of the exact clearance but I know it's right in that 7.0"-7.5" ballpark, which is standard for most traditional bed frames. So if there is something you have been storing under a bed before, my expectation would be that you would be fine storing that same thing under either of these frames.
      2) In terms of which is sturdier, I assume you mean which of the two frames shown in this video? If so, the emBrace is certainly a bit sturdier but I think for all practical purposes for the vast majority of people, the enGauge is plenty sturdy. Beyond that, the main differences between the emBrace and enGauge will more aesthetic in nature, rather than functional.

      Thanks for your reply. For question 2 I was asking, about the 3rd support bar. is there a big difference if the bar is horizontal compared to vertical. I've always seen horizontal support bars/beam, Ive never saw a vertical support bar/beam. Is a vertical support as good as a horizontal support bar/beam? Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help.

    I know the video is 4 years old but I just got a twin embrace frame given to me and there's no center bar. Does it take screws at all? I have a couple pieces that I'm not sure what their function is. Thanks

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Рік тому +1

      Hi Chad -- The model we assembled in the video didn't require a single screw. Every step was shown in the video.
      I've never actually assembled a twin size version, but I wouldn't expect it to have a center bar. Center bars simply aren't necessary at that width.
      As for the extra pieces and screws you ended up with, I'm at a loss! Sorry I can't be of more help on that one.

    For luxury mattresses that have a coil structure very close to the bottom surface logic dictates a flat surface for the springs to do their work: example is a Sterns & Foster euro pillowtop Reserve#1(duh a 5200$ mattress ). Like this guy says the "EmBrace"is a bulletproof bed frame. Click on my green icon to see how i modified mine to accept the Cal.King Sterns &FosterReserve#1. Thanks David. To clarify for the benefit of other readers, normally we would expect that someone using this frame would have a box spring that would rest directly on the frame, and then the mattress would be placed on top of the foundation. In this type of normal situation, I don't think any modifications are necessary. However, I could see how the solution you showed would work well for someone that doesn't have a foundation, or just wants to use this frame without the added height of a foundation. Thanks for sharing.

    can a footboard be attached to this frame

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  5 років тому +3

      Hi Ben -- Thanks for your question. No, you can't attach a separate footboard to the emBrace or enGauge frames. However, you can attach either a headboard or an entire bed (that goes around all 4 sides, including headboard and footboard) to both of them.
      I hope that's helpful.

Have a Sterns & Foster Reserve #1 with this frame, and bed skirts/comforter from Waterford fine linens(picted it from thousands of choises on "Touch of Class bedding").

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  6 років тому +2

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. One of the remarkable things about the design of this frame is that it requires absolutely no tools -- neither for assembly nor for disassembly. All the pieces just drop right into other pieces.
      In case you missed it, you can see the entire assembly process of both frames at 6:48 in the video. What is shown is literally the entire process -- we didn't do any pre-assembly before we started filming. To take it apart, it would just be the exact same process in reverse.
      I hope that's helpful.

      I'm extremely pleased with the EMBRACE. I'm constantly looking to score a couple more at a good price. I'll tell you this, I was ready to throw out our mattress, due to me just not being satisfied, but the EMBRACE changed the whole dynamic of sleep quality and saved out mattress from going to the "graveyard". From now on, I want nothing less than KNICKERBOCKER EMBRACE's. To answer your question, its snap n click. No tools are necessary! AMAZING!!!

      GoodBed good design and functionality should be a priority to manufacturers should they listen to consumers. Square footage prices are high and optimizing space is a priority to the 99 percentile. Just one little inch just one.

      Just to close the loop on this, we did connect with the company to share this feedback. Without taking anything away from the OP's suggestion here, they did point out that you can slide storage under the bed from the front. Thought that was worth noting for the benefit of other readers here. Thanks again for the comment.

      Hi Jose -- Thanks for your question. There is no doubt in my mind that either of these frames can handle any kind of nocturnal gymnastics that you can throw at them. 😊
      Re: sliding, this is going to depend more on the surface your bed frame is on. If you're on carpet, I don't see sliding being an issue. If you're on hardwood or tile floor, I would recommend putting some non-slip adhesive pads on the bottom of the feet. The bottom of each foot has plenty of surface area for a nice big grippy pad. That should ensure this thing won't slide around. Here are some highly-rated adhesive pads like this that you can buy on Amazon:
