    I don't think I'd sleep well at night if I had this guys' level of expertise in mattresses. Any minor failure in his mattress (that would otherwise be imperceptible to the average consumer) must drive him insane. Poor guy. Doing God's work.

    This is the review that compelled me to pull the trigger on the Rejuvenate Premier. To increase motion isolation, we went with the split king. While testing the split in the showroom, I had my wife bounce on one side while I faced away from her. I couldn't feel any vibration. She's moves a lot while I'm a light sleeper. Not a good combo. The only thing I'm unsure of is the "firmness" of this bed compared to the rejevenate and the rejuvinate plus. The website labels the rejuvinate as firm, plus as soft, and premier as medium. Also, other reviews mentioned the premier as medium firmnes between the other two. In addition, the salesperson said the premier was the softest but most supportive. I don't understand how something can be softer and more supportive. Can you clarify whether the premier is indeed the softest or medium? Also, how can something be the softest and most supportive?

      Was it worth it 🤔 I’m thinking about getting one because it’s hard for me to sleep at night does It make you go to sleep quicker? Seems like a cool mattress but I don’t know what do you think?

    • @thaddeus722
      @thaddeus722 3 місяці тому

      @@MichaelT-xr8jx actually I'm sending it back. It's too soft for me. The rejuvenate plus is a little firmer so would have considered that as the next option. However, I've slept on a Pranasleep mattress for 10 years and loved it. So now I'm in the process of ordering the dharma elite luxury firm split King. Now that I've tried purple, I don't think I'd ever have another mattress that's not Prana or mostly latex. And as far as cooling, I thought the purple rejuvenate premiere was hotter than my Vinyasa plush from prana

    I have a Purple 4, I’m not convinced these newer models are any better. More foam, more money. But only 3” instead of 4” of gel grid.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I was a little surprised they didn't provide at least one option with the 4" grid. As you know, it provides quite a lot of conformance, and I think there is a place for that in the market. In the end, I think they decided that this solution was better provided by combining the 3" grid with the unique combo coils used in the Restore Premier models, rather than just the 4" grid. It will be interesting to see if they stick with that approach exclusively for the long term or if at some point they start to offer a 4" grid option again.
      In the meantime, FWIW, the Rejuvenate Premier shown in this video does have about 4" of total gel grid in it. In this case though, they separated that grid material into two separate grid layers with 1" of poly foam between them. This allows the buckling in each layer to happen independently, which IMHO is an advantage over the Purple 4.
      I hope that's helpful.

    These are Intellibeds, nothing more. The newer darker purple gel grid you have on the bed with you is the exact same gel design in Intellibed, exact. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Yes purple absorbed/purchased Intellibed. Then copied Intellibed designs at the same asinine price tags. 👏🏼 good luck with that purple! I believe purple is making a huge error trying to chase the very elite high-end Luxury Mattress customer. Stick to making a unique but affordable product. This is a mistake.

      Hi there -- Relative to the old Purple Hybrid lineup (which included the Purple 4), these 3 models certainly have more premium comfort foams and a more traditional luxury mattress feel, while still offering the same general benefits of the unique Purple grid material.
      For comparison, you can also see our coverage of the Restore models (aka the Premium collection), which is the direct successor to the Purple Hybrid line, here: ua-cam.com/video/47xYNBFSnd8/v-deo.html

    Hi,
    I’ve had the rejuvenate premiere for about 3 months . I weight about 180 lbs and am a side sleeper .
    For some reason I wake up with my sides hurting ( area right below my armpit ) . I’m surprised because I thought it would be really good at pressure relief .
    I am not able to return because this is a warranty upgrade . I started to walk on the mattress to try to break it in more . I thought possibly adding a topper might help but it seems like that would be too much since it’s already so thick .
    Do you know what the problem might be ? I’d like to lose about 50 lbs . I’m not sure if that will improve things or not.

    Are the Purple Restore like the Purple 2, 3, 4? While Rejuvenate is a higher luxury style?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Рік тому

      Yes, the 6 Purple Restore models are the direct successors to the Purple Hybrid collection (which was comprised of the 3 models you mentioned). The Restore and Restore Plus align fairly well with the construction of the Purple 2 and Purple 3, having 2" and 3" gel grids respectively, while the Premier model uses a 3" grid combined with an encased spring/foam combo coil.
      The Rejuvenate models shown in this video pick up where the Restore models leave off, adding more premium comfort foams and providing a more traditional luxury mattress feel, while still offering the same general benefits of the unique Purple grid material.

    Mike, how many inch should the Hips sink in the mattress for the spine to be properly aligned?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  10 місяців тому +1

      Unfortunately there's not one right answer here. Different people have different bodies and a mattress that allows the hips to sink deeply into it might work for one person and not another. Further, some very firm mattresses can hold alignment without much sink at all, whereas soft mattresses can allow the upper body and lower body to sink at relatively equal rates, which can also hold alignment. In short, it's complicated!

    • @hastensavoir7782
      @hastensavoir7782 10 місяців тому

      @@goodbed yeah but too many inches down for the hips can be considered “too soft” or has poor support. Like how many inches down will be considered as such?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  10 місяців тому

      @@hastensavoir7782 Yeah, I'm afraid there is really no universal answer here. If you are a lightweight stomach sleeper, then even 1-2" of sinkage under the hips might be too much. However, if you are a heavy pear-shaped side sleeper, you might need 4-5" or more of sinkage under your hips in order to hold your spine in proper alignment. Of course, there are a million other permutations.
      The only universal answer is that if your hips are sinking in so much that it is throwing your spine out of alignment, that is too much. And the opposite could be said as well if your hips don't sink in enough.
      I hope that's helpful.

    • @hastensavoir7782
      @hastensavoir7782 10 місяців тому

      @@goodbed how about for Back sleeping? That’s my main concern

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  10 місяців тому +2

      @@hastensavoir7782 This again will vary by person, based on body shape and weight. Someone who is lightweight and shaped like a beanpole, for example, probably wouldn't want their rear end to since more than a couple inches into the mattress. But for someone with a bigger posterior, the mattress will need to accommodate this in order to maintain proper spinal alignment.
      The degree of soft quilting on top of the mattress will also play a role here because that will affect how much the upper body sinks into the mattress. The goal is simply to achieve proper alignment, so the ratio of sinkage between upper torso, lumbar, and hips is really the key. If the upper torso is sinking in more, then the hips can/should sink in more to match.
      Sorry there isn't a simpler answer here. FWIW, I do realize that plenty of other websites will happily give a mattress a score for "back support" or "back pain". This is because they know people want a simple answer for this type of thing, and they either don't know any better or are just trying to sell you that mattress. So, whenever you see this, it's a clear signal that any information that website provides is garbage.
      I hope that's helpful.

    Which one compares to purple 4

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Рік тому +1

      Hi there -- The Purple 4 has a smooth top (no quilting) with the gel grid directly below a stretch cover, which is a bit of a different design than the Luxe models in this video. None of the new models use a single 4" grid layer, however the Restore Plus Soft in their new Premium collection uses a 3" grid layer combined with some additional foam to achieve very similar feel characteristics. You can see that one in our coverage of the Restore (Premium) collection here: ua-cam.com/video/47xYNBFSnd8/v-deo.html

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Рік тому +2

       @carlosbanuelos2212 I'm not 100% sure what you mean about "sliding on" but the cover of the new Restore models is not quite as slippery as it was in the Purple 4. The profile height is pretty similar though (13") so if that's what you're getting at, then you should be OK.

    Do you think Purple is going to go bankrupt or get bought out?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  Рік тому +4

      Are those the only two choices? 🤣 If I had to choose one of those, a buy-out seems far more likely in this case. Purple has an extremely strong brand and also owns some very valuable IP. And in fact, in the past year or so they even acquired one of their rivals, Intellibed.
      That said, as a more general statement (not about Purple), I do think that if the proposed merger of Mattress Firm and Tempur-Pedic is allowed to go through, it will lead many retailers and manufacturers to either go bankrupt or be forced to consolidate - all of which would be terrible for consumers.
