Grettir at Þing: teaser trailer #7

The next in a series of teaser trailers for Hurstwic's film, "The Final Battle of Grettir the Strong". The people of the Viking age met regularly in legal assemblies called þing (thing). In this excerpt from the film, Þór Hjaltalín of Minjastofnun Íslands talks about the legal and social activities at the local þing meeting that Grettir himself attended. The interview was conducted at Hegranesþing, the þing site that Grettir visited. Ruins of Viking-age structures from the þing are visible and are discussed by Þór in the film.
