  • From ancient times into the 20th century, Icelandic fishermen solved a peculiar problem with a unique form of glíma called sýsluglíma. Glíma was the empty-hand combat system of the Vikings, and in this video, we travel to a location where sýsluglíma was practiced and discuss the bizarre problem it addressed.

The theory is that Sýslumaður was a super negative title for Icelanders.
Sýslumaður was the title of an official under the king, we first saw them when we lost our independence and the king started to meddle into the business of Icelanders.
