I just drew some lines, then coloured them in, then tidied the edges with the same light grey i used on the rest of the mini. Big straight lines are easier for me than smaller shapes, that's why it's over so much of the leg. Sorry that's not super useful! Just go slow and you can always tidy up later :)
Hi! If you were trying this without an aerosol can I'd probably use a grey primer applied by brush and then do a heavy drybrush of a light grey paint with good coverage. VMC Sky Grey is what I use in this video. For a citadel equivalent maybe Grey Seer would work, although I haven't tested that one myself. Hope this is useful to you!
Yes, it works great on vehicles! I used this method for my Eldar Craftworld army (so lots of large, smooth surfaces) and it was very pain-free to paint
Thanks for the comment, and you are correct! As I stated in the video, I took a few artistic liberties with the codex scheme as I like the way it looks with a bit more red.
Thanks for showing your method, you had a great result
Great! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, this was awesome 👌
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Can ya show me how ya did the damn lightning bolt on the leg really blows ya skip over that part -.-

How would this work if you were undercoating by hand?

Ah yes the famous grey scars😅
No scars on them, either! Outrageous!
Does this method work for bikes and vehicles?

Just a heads up dont paint the shoulder trims or helmets red unless you want them to be veterans.
