Bold Titanium white is easily one of the best white acrylics I've used. Love this tutorial and definitely going to have to get Soulblight Grey for my arsenal. 👍
@@ThePaintingCoach make sure to get the one from their third generation paint line. I can't vouch for their other whites. That line is great in general though. I switched over to monument and AK for all my paints.
Painting in white just makes you stronger. I choose the chogorian way and play the white scars. It’s tough but when I get a chaplain or librarian and can use other colors. The skill comes out because it’s so much easier
I think an airbrush is probably your best bet for painting white or other light colors. I feel ur pain, i play emperors spears, light blue armor with white helmets and aquilas. I basically have to keep the helmets seperate on every model

Going to give this a go. I REALLY want to paint my new sisters of battle in white armor but I’ve tried white before and it went poorly. This looks like you made the perfect video for me. Emperor bless you
This is perfect! I've been struggling to know how to go about painting my custom white Tau sept and have used both White Scar and Corax White sprays but never known how to get a crisp white armour whilst still being able to highlight and that soulblight grey is exactly the thing I need!
This is very validating as I'm planning on doing this method for my solar watch Custodes. Another thing to try is mortarion grime for a super grungy white
Fun fact, as my chapter is not white at all I though this video would not be that usefull, but thanks to you I discovered the Black Templar contrast and I can stop wasting my time trying to highlight my Abannon Black bolter edges with grey xD
Gonna do a 5 man space marine squad where everyone is from a different chapter and this is a really nice white armor! Might do something like that, minus the contrast step since contrast paint is pretty expensive, especially for a paint I won use too much. Tough I do get Black Templar contrast paint, really like the black with green/blue tones, feels more real than both Black Legion and Army Painter’s speedpaint black.
@@theorganicshadow same to you, friend! I have already spent way too long looking at various obscure chapters from way too many founding to find 5 cool unique and slightly different ones. this will make painting my custom eldar super easy. Since I already have apothecary white I'm going to see how it would look with that instead of the soulblight shade
Fantastic video! Thanks so much. This is great for my Sacred Rose nuns with guns. Only thing I’d do differently is put an initial black coat on the areas Leadbelcher will be applied to; just personal preference.
Great video! Also I used Ulthuan Grey to cover up mistakes. It’s less chalky than GW whites and it matches well with the white primer + soulblight grey
Another priming tip... it has been very hot out. The can recommends a max 77 degrees fahrenheit. Heed that warning. I used it the other day and the paint dried before it hit the mini leaving a grainy texture across my model.
@@CultofCultists my way to work around it is to use Vallejo's surface primer. it definately takes more coats than i'd like in order to get an even coat with a brush but its better than nothing!
Can I substitute Bold Titanium white with White Scar itself when it comes to edge highlighting? Does Soulblight Grey darken it enought for White Scar to make that edges pop?
@@ThePaintingCoach Thanks for quick response. I also want you to know that i really appriciate this video. You gave me such condifence boost that I feel ready to paint my White Scars at long last. I've heard tons of comments that white is extremely hard to get right but you showed me that's not necessarily true. I really like the final look and it's easy enough for me to replicate. I'm happy to subscribe to your channel. Thanks again.
It is very bright! Maybe too bright on its own - try it on a spare part or piece of sprue first. You could mix it with some wraithbone as a first highlight and then go pure for the final stage
I would probably spray the vehicle grey, then carefully add white from above so I had a nice transition (you can do this with spray cans if you don't have an airbrush). I'd then line in the recesses with an oil paint wash to make it easy - covering the whole vehicle with soulblight grey won't work unfortunately
@@ThePaintingCoach matches the color of the base really well. Any tipps which product would match Aggaros Dunes from GW? Really liked your quick tipp for the White Scars squad markings...connecting the dots. So simple but great result.
I added some to the base as well - no idea really on what would match aggaros dunes - you are probably looking for a sandy type weathering powder - ochre might be too yellow
Looks amazing by the way, but would i need to use White Scar out of the pot over the flat Panels because of using the Soulblight Grey all of the model to bring back the white ?
It's better to put a thin layer of primer down first, let it dry for a few mins and then a second coat - if you try and do it all at once you'll obscure detail and the surface may crack

Hey, i see many people asked about the base and legs. Is it Dark Red powder or just red? And do you just dip your drybrush in and use it? You mention blending, what do you mean by blending?
