I'm so glad Dave is willing to revisit some Nirvana tracks, it's cathartic to hear him play. I think every Nirvana fan experienced some fraction of the grief he must have felt with Kurt's passing. Obviously Dave is the man, and has grown so far and beyond Nirvana, but it's still so special to get to go back with him.
This comment deserved more than my thumbs up. Spot on. For those that listed first time around, the nostalgia of watching him play all these years later when we’ve all grown up (old) carries a lot of weight.
I got chills hearing Kurt and wondering whatever Dave was feeling at the time. Imagine playing a song from a band you used to be in, yet the person who's singing ended themselves over 20 years ago. I can only imagine what he felt.

I never thought Dave would do this again but it’s a beautiful thing and probably a good thing for everyone to celebrate a iconic song which he was part of.

Kurt Cobain died in 1994, exactly 11 days before my tenth birthday. I'll always remember when this music video came out. I have always loved Nirvana.
This guy was the drummer for one of the most influential and ground breaking bands in music and he is still making music 30 years later.
Not that influential and didn't break any ground at all.

I love Dave, I love the Foo’s but watching him beat the hell out of that kit makes me yearn for the raw intensity and brilliance of Nirvana, makes me miss them so much, they weren’t perfect but they had that something extra special.

Amazing. I’m 41. My life was awesome because of bands like this. David Grohl will always be the goat.
Watching this back now for the 5th time and i can not get enough of it. Dave always said he would never play a nirvana song after the passing of Kurt and to see him perform this is something historic. I hop the audience realise how lucky they were to see this.
Dave's timing is flawless, like a human metronome. The energy, the power, the chops, just freaking phenomenal. One of the best rock drummer ever. And a genuine nice guy as well. Rock on Dave!

It's like Neil Patrick Harris. For a lot of people 40 and older, he was "Doogie Houser, M.D." for a long time. But then he did HIMYM and he's Barney Stinson now. It's not about the chronology, it's that Barney and HIMYM has exceeded Doogie the character and Doogie Houser, M.D. the show.
Not only is he an awesome drummer he obviously loves what he does
How anyone could dislike this man is actually beyond me. I listened to his memoir and it was absolutely transcendent . I have never enjoyed another audiobook more

I'm so glad Dave is willing to revisit some Nirvana tracks, it's cathartic to hear him play. I think every Nirvana fan experienced some fraction of the grief he must have felt with Kurt's passing. When he plays these tracks, I think we all feel a connection to what we've lost. I for one am grateful for that.
Cathartic is the right word
Dave is the very definition of what all celebrities should strive to be. Just a great great man. Humble to the end. Excellent at everything he does.
I got chills hearing Kurt and wondering whatever Dave was feeling at the time. Imagine playing a song from a band you used to be in, yet the person who's singing ended themselves over 20 years ago. I can only imagine what he felt.
It’s amazing how much emotion and greatness and pain is represented by that performance.

As a Drummer of over 30 years not only do I appreciate Dave Grohls playing. But the choice of the “14” floor tom he uses here rather than a traditional “12”. He also played a similar setup at times while touring with Nirvana. Which is a also a nod to his playing here. Being thoughtful and authentic to the song and that period in his career. Thank you Dave for choosing to play and share this with us !
