@BakeToRise And don’t forget to add “on stage in California at the Los Angeles Forum”, and thanks to this video being online, Nandi will be able to whip out her phone (or whatever device we’re using then) and show you :)

Just one? My face is soaking wet. I love stuff like this and I love that Grohl and the FF give opportunities to their fans that probably change the trajectory of their lives when they don’t have or need to even acknowledge them. Nandi shredded this song and I’m so glad she got props from both Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, two of the best drummers to ever live. When he sadly passed, I was kinda hopeful they’d get her to replace him.

For those who don't drum, this is a very complex song to drum to with very fast, very odd transitions that requires a ton of endurance. To my knowledge, Dave has never allowed a drummer come on stage to play this particular song because he knows they're probably gonna screw it up or get tired and fall behind. The fact that he allowed her to play this song says that he has the utmost confidence in her abilities.

This is a wonderful comment - thanks so much! I'm not a drummer, and while many comments have said some version of what you did, there have also been a number of blowhards who have said some version of "I don't see what the big deal, this song is so easy to play" 🙄
As far as I know, you're the first person to point out that they never before had a guest drummer for "Everlong". Nandi really owned her moment, surely creating the opportunity for her to have many more moments like this in the future.

They didn't do that here, they gave her complete center stage with these drums. To be an 11 year old, playing a Foo Fighters concert, drumming, with no safety net, it insane guts and talent.

I’ve played the drums on and off for 20 years, that song is a sleeper. The verse is hard to play once the kick drum starts hitting with the guitar rhythm. Listen for it. The high hat repetition actually makes it difficult IMO. Its “easy” to play per se, but by the end of the verse that section will mess up your timing if you’re even slightly out of practice and expose you. She absolutely killed it!!! Well done.

I think you're underselling yourself and about this idea of "success"... what is success? If, at some point, you thought you'd be the next Nancy Wilson or Orianthi... well, you need more than skills for that, you need a break and a bit of luck too. I didn't and I'm jealous that you stuck to it, I'd give a lot to possess 1/10th of your ability... I'm not a drummer but I am a figure skater and you learn ALOT about music and beats. I KNOW how fast of a drummer you have to be to keep up with this song. I actually skated to it for competition when it first came out. Most songs have a beat of 1,2 3,4 or 1,2,3 4,5,6 this one is 1,2,1,2 then a quick change to 1,2,3 and again to 1,1,1 then back to 1,2 it's game of speed and endurance. I got many a first place because of the footwork I did to drum beats. The crazy transitions and switch up of the beat is practically unheard of. For an 11 yr old to play that? The main thing that impresses me is her fearlessness. She just attacks it head on, and then the physical power and timing is mind-blowing. An 11 year old has just driven one the most famous bands in the world and it's absolutely spot on! It's so unbelievable I have to watch it again and again to make sure I'm not dreaming! This is also one of her favourite bands so she must have felt like she was dreaming too. Oh, and Mr Grohl was right, he said beforehand that she would steal the show.

Teared up for the same reason I cried during Halle Berry's Oscar acceptance speech- for all the girls, especially the black girls, who were musical prodigies or could have been prodigies, and who never were able to get recognition or even express their talent. Because there are now male musicians in the culture who lift and boost the talent of girls and women, like Dave GROHL and Lenny Kravitz, who also put Nandi on stage with him @ the O2 Arena in London, and whose drummer Cindy Blakcman, is one of the best in the business.

Her drumming is just on point... she's actually better than most drummers that are adults. She's 11 and her future is so BRIGHT!!!!.... Love you Nandi!. god bless you sunshine. RIP Taylor, if only Nandi was old enough to fill his place. I really feel for Dave, he's up there with keanu for me, fame can get you so far but when you're just an all round good bloke, you go up another level.

She's not only got a great style but also-- it's clear that she absolutely loves drumming and practices, practices practices! There's gotta be hours and hours of hard work behind that smile and a dedication to do the music homage. That's an artist for sure.

@@vtbmwbiker I've been following her for a little while now. You oughta see her videos on her youtube channel. She just beats those drums and screams, it's awesome!

That's God given talent. Not an easy task for most adults. If only more people would notice their children's talents instead of plopping them in front of a phone or tablet...

Can you imagine how proud you would be as a parent? All that money in lessons for your child and they're up there absolutely smashing it!
