    "Convincing nonsense" is super accurate, that really is what it is. The future of AI is scary though & what it could mean for cheating, plagiarism, etc. Love that systems are being created to detect AI-written articles though. So glad you're covering this Mister Messinger

    i want to ask you a question , when it comes to research and reading books i always write everything i found and do do copy paste and organize ideas all tegether, then when i finish i feel like i didn't do anything , the essays is not by myself , by my words ; my problem is that i didn't have enough vocabulary , i have the idea but i can't transferit into words .
    waiting for your response and thanks for the video

      Great question-writing is tough especially when you have to do a ton of research. The basic rule is that when something is "common knowledge" like George Washington was the first president of the US, you do not need to cite it. Yet, when you get ideas from reading and research, you do need to cite the source. Basically, tell the reader where that information is from. Does that make sense? You do want most of the writing to be your own thoughts and ideas though. Over the next month, I am coming out with some videos explaining how best to do that. I can let you know when I post them. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask!

      @@MisterMessinger i did not only copy the common knowledge , i always copy every sentence i see related to my topic , but my question is when we are in an exam we do not have time to research and it is not allowed , how we can deal with this situation ?

    • @MisterMessinger
      @MisterMessinger  3 роки тому +1

      If that’s the case, make sure you cite the source every time you use any information. In terms of your question, it depends on a couple different things: 1. Do you know the question or topic ahead of time? 2. Essay planning changes slightly based on the topic. 3. The type of essay
      If you don’t know the topic ahead of time, it’s tough but not impossible. Here are some thoughts:
      For example, let’s say that you are given this essay question: How has the internet impacted kids today? 1. Write down all the answers that come to mind-both negative and positive impacts. 2. Start to focus it-do you want to focus on the positive or negative ones? 3. Write your thesis 4. Now since you can’t research, you will have to use your own life experiences and things you have witnessed. Try giving examples, telling stories or analogies. 5. I find that a lot of students feel like they can’t write without researching but they have a lot of knowledge without realizing it. I bet that you can do it, just have to have confidence. 6. I would practice. Choose a random essay question and try writing as much as you can without looking anything up online.
      I hope that helps. It’s tough to fully answer in the comments. I will be making some videos on planning your essay and will make a video answering this question as well.
