This appears like a great idea. My concern is not that the nut would come loose, but that the frame becomes somewhat rounded out where the teeth grab into it. With that in mind it seems like the torque arm would be the best solution. Would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks for this and all your other videos they have been very helpful to me.

Having bought the lekkie one nut i bought the recommended shimano bottom tool which is totally useless as it will not go over my axel so i reported back to lekkie who advertised on their web site this tool and was advised to drill the centre out of the bottom tool ,wow top company, would of expected at lease compensating for my wasted expense but stopped responding to my emails thanks lekkie for the crap advice p.s the one nut seems to be doing its job

    Cool
I have a bbshd on a standard bb that started moving after about 3 rides, so i took the crank off and retightened it.
I've also added 3 big cable ties around the motor as well as the frame to keep it tight up against the frame if it does happen to loosen up again, but so far so good after another few weeks of hard riding!
The stock lockrings definitely seem pretty sound as long as you don't run into lack of thread issues like you mentioned. I can see this lock ring actually being a good option in that scenario

While using a split nut will prevent the nut itself from becoming loose (provided both grub screws are torqued equally) it still doesn't change the fact that there is not enough surface area on the face of a bottom bracket together with the matting surface of the bafang bracket to keep from spinning, bafang tried to improve on this with their newest motor by adding a through ring to the casing and using a gear clamp around down tube to keep the motor from spinning downward, every time I see it I start to laugh a bit, I'm pretty sure the cafeteria lady designed that one ! No thanks, I'll fabricate one that looks like it belongs.

I just used the stock bafang tool and a mallet to make it tight lol, I had a jubilee clip system before but it turns out I didn't really need it so took it off for a cleaner look

I don't understand how this can work? Lekkie say the two grub screws bite into the BB thread, but in order to do so they should be on the SIDE of the locknut, not ON TOP??!

Can you use it without the black bracket that bites into the frame?

I have one nut and stab bar. Still creacking noise when pedaling no really movement but that old chair noise.... Bottom bracket is 68x 34mm. Maybe needs to change steel frame? How to get it "seaworthy"…?

soft aluminum is still soft aluminum. I dont think this nut would help much. especially since no matter how tight you get it the teeth on the bracket is simply not enough

    Great idea, but.
The only way to correct the rather iffy mount is to weld the mount to the bottom bracket.
Now the motor is bolted to the frame.

How do you remove the motor if needed?

That's a very poor and very ghetto suggestion are you trolling ?. A simple removable and reservicable fix is to use 2 hose clamps a large one for the motor and a small one for the down tube. Many people have done this

He is talking only about steel frames. There are more sublime methods though for steel. While all those stabilizer bars have problems. Steel is hard that's why stock locking doesn't work as it is

@@denseljosephs9500 personally i have magnesium frame that makes welding impossible.
