Just fitted the 1000 watt BBSHD paired with a 52v 19.5 ah battery to an inexpensive mountain bike I bought new around 6/7 years ago for £180 in a half-price Halfords sale. Very impressed with the outcome - not worked on bikes since I was young so it took around 5 hours but I could do a second one in less than 2 hours. It goes very fast and hills are a thing of the past!
Amazing that you have a channel. Bought my BBSHD from Golden Motor over 2 years ago. It has survived 2 bikes and 2 years worth of daily commuting to work. It has caused me to become much more proficient in bike wrenching, but it is an amazing new hobby. I do wish you stocked more parts for it though, as I have had to source many wear and tear items from the US. You helped someone like me with spinal issues get back in to biking. Doc said it would never happen but I even biked all last winter. Keep it up.
Thank you SO much for this vid, I don't know why i had it in my head that the motor could not be positioned straight down...the setup I've been looking at has been restricted by the frame....this opens up loads of ideas and will save me $$$...again thank you SO much 🥰
Great installation guide. Can this motor be installed on a 3 spoke bike please as I see the speed sensor is attached to on of the spokes. My bike just has 3 metallic spokes

@@devinrichman5282 incredibly easy. It is just like it looks in the videos, it's basically plug and play. I have the 850c, the colour screen, which works great I hope it works out for you
Im running old wy inch wheels will this srill work as the motor doesnt seem like it has alot of ground crealance, for refeence its a carrera subway 1 im bring back to kife. Found half of it in a skip many months ago. Also are BB sizes standard? Or does the kit come with spacers and reducers for both wisth and diameter? I dont want to by the wring kit and bub drive i think is sketchy, alot of torque going throughh all the commponents from crank back.
I can't decide which type of mountain bike to use. Preferred aluminum first, but maybe chromoly might take greater heavy loads of batteries and better shock and impact? For 5,11 I'm wondering frame geometry, and frame and wheel size to use with heavier load and responsive steering. Oh, but any frame i get will have front suspension. Seems like a must.
@9:50 I'm about to try this myself... one thing I don't understand is how to install the motor... in particular should the finned part be down at the bottom (6 o'clock) or rotated (more like 8 o'clock)??
Don't you have to rotate the motor up toward the frame before tightening? No other install vids show it hanging down? Oh and you didn't install the chain ring cover 🤔
Just a simple question , when you removed the bottom bracket in earlier clip , and then in later clip you say insert motor into bottom bracket I never seen you put the bottom bracket back in , it's confused me a little
The allen wrench you used to tighten the crank arm is 11mm. Process of trying the Bike Pro Kit which 10mm is highest. Non standard size special order. Task is to replace crank wheel from 44T to 32T.
I have a Schwinn Ascension with 1x7 and 30T front ring. What ring should I pick for a 750W kit? not doing anything pro, mainly commuting to work with some long but not to much incline hills. And occasionally trials with hills but no racing.
I want to convert my bike into an e-bike with the Bafang BBS02 kit, but I'm worried that the single front chainring may not align perfectly with the rear cassette (eight chainrings). Any suggestions?
I've been told that bufang has motors that clamp to the frame so the bikes own pedals and crank can be utilized. Anyone know if such a motor exists and can you recommend video on this, thanks
@@chrisv.noire.6388 No, there are "bolt on" rear motors on Amazon pretty cheap. They literally just bolt onto the frame in the back. The kits come with a special chain ring that bolts to the side of the rear wheel, and then a smaller chain connects to the motor. They are cheap, but also LOUD and not nearly as clean looking.
Isn't it standard that the stock chainring doesnt really align at center of cassette, mine also is the 68mm BB kit and my BB shell is 68mm wide but I find it aligning to the 3rd highest gear instead of the center, meaning shifting to bigger cassette cogs would bend the chain a bit too much, just wondering how yours doesn't seem to have this issue
750 watt is less power than 1000 watt but to be honest, there hardly is a difference. Only torque would have a great improvement ( which is very helpfull when climbing) Yes, you do shift with the back gears. Only the front derailleur (or the front gears) will be removed.
Did you find any issue with the brake wire because of the clearance of the frame and the motor is quite enough? The brake wire still need to run between the frame and the motor, correct?
Im assuming this conversion kit isnt compatible with a 3x bikes, i.e 3 chainrings in the front. Nevermind, I saw he removed a front derailleur, meaning this bike was likely a 3x drivetrain.

From other install videos, most have the motor pivoted closer to the front tube so it's not hanging so low.
Yes, that motor is now very exposed to rocks etc He should also have added some loctite to the thread of the first ring holding the motor
This is bike with internal cabling so the slot for the cable doesn’t allow it to go all the way up
@goldenmotorNA it does, you just didn't try as it's the downtube it goes close to and there's plenty space.

Can i use my ordinary bosh battery with the bafang motor? I have one left.
Is there a adapter 4 this?
