The model in the video is Tawny Kitaen is the future ex-wife of David Coverdale (lead singer of Whitesnake). She also did some acting probably best known for a small role in "Bachelor Party." She passed away in 2021. Whitesnake was my gateway drug to heavy metal. In High School I wore their logo on my jean jacket. A excellent song by them is "Still of the Night."

I saw Whitesnake when they opened for Motley Crue on the Girls Girls Girls tour. David Coverdale introduced "Still of the Night" by saying "People are claiming that this is a love song. It is actually a f***ing sex song." And yes, they were great live. P.S. This was the tour where Tommy Lee debuted his spinning drum set!@@davidcollins897

The model in the video was actress/ model Tawny Kitaen and she also appeared in the Whitesnake videos for 'Still of the night'... and 'Here I go again'... in 1987. She and David Coverdale married soon after... Sadly, the relationship ended in divorce by 1991. Coverdale wrote the Whitesnake song "Kitten's got claws" about her.
Before this, Tawny Kitaen was with Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby... she appeared in Ratt's 1984 music video for 'Back for more' and was the model on the cover of Ratt's album 'Out of the cellar'.
After divorcing David Coverdale, Tawny Kitaen remarried... but was struggled w/ drug abuse and divorced again... In the 80's, she was apparently briefly involved w/ O.J. Simpson and hinted that the former football player had a dark, obsessive personality...
Tawny Kitaen passed away in 2021.

@@ivanpaezcabo6300 yeah, David Coverdale was jealous about Sykes, he had the visual, the long blond hair, the guitar god. Coverdale fired him before the 1987cdtrack was released. Sykes is one of the greatest of all time and people didn't even know who is he because of that, and Whitesnake could be ever more bigger than they were. After fire Sykes, Whitesnake ALWAYS had to have two guitar players lmao. Steve Vai and Adrian Vanderberg, Vivian Campbell and Adrian Vanderberg, Rob Reach and Doug Aldrich... Sykes is irreplaceable.

John Sykes was a stunningly good looking guy, better looking than David Coverdale and an excellent guitarist. Give me John any day over Coverdale, who was just jealous and insecure about the competition in the band. Ooh, he made my knees go weak back in the day, John Sykes.

Probably the most iconic 80's hit ever, though this may be a close second. Also the actress in this video, Tawny Kitaen, was a lot of guys first crush growing up in the 80's.

Coverdale has always been amazing. It's John Sykes that makes this record, though. That dude is an incredible guitarist, and singer to boot. Check Sykes' next band, Blue Murder. He's not pictured in any music video because DC fired him right after the recording was done.

Blue Murder is a beast of a band. I don't know if Sykes is the greatest guitarist ever - lots of subjectivity there - but he's definitely one of them and my personal favorite. The dude has so much style in everything he does and what I think is the most distinct sound of any guitarist ever.

1987 might have been the pinnacle of rock music - so I spiritually agree with you. However I believe it is impossible to only have a trinity from 1987. Hysteria, Whitesnake ST, Permanent Vacation, Appetite for Destruction, The Joshua Tree, Momentary Lapse of Reason, Girls, Girls, Girls, Once Bitten, Inside Information - and that's just the classic/hair rock. Prince, Michael Jackson, INXS, Rush, George Michael and Joe Satriani all had iconic albums come out that year as well. Life was good.

@@davidcollins897 I agree, while those where probably the most impactful, they where only by a small fraction compared to what came out that year, in all genres. Certainly over two dozens at least.
While all of the 80's where unforgettable, personally 85, 86 and 87 where the absolute peak, in both music and personal life, especially being 12,13 and 14 in the best decade ever...

Alright, let's go: that's exactly why I really like old rock songs, because the melody was transmitted almost naturally, not that it doesn't have that today, but perhaps it has less intensity, this is one of my favorite songs from Whitesnake and I'm happy that you reacted to it Bisscute, it's a good song and I'm happy that you liked it, you're cute as always and that mole on your forehead gives you an even greater charm about yourself, if I could recommend one song I would recommend Eluveltie - The Call of The Mountains, it's a good song and the band is excellent and I think you'll like it and that's it, continue with the work you're doing and greetings from Brazil to you Bisscute (Madalina)! 💚💛💚💛

Like every hot blooded male teen of the 80s, I was smitten with Tawny Kitaen, and while it is true that she was most recognized for the reasons listed below [model, Mrs Coverdale, video vixen], I feel it necessary to point out that she was an actress in her own right,,,with guest appearances in shows like Seinfeld, Married with Children, Hercules and C.S.I. among others. She also did a lot of work on Santa Barbara, and was the ONLY reason to tune in for the new WKRP in Cincinnati.....sad to realize she's gone...sigh, I miss the 80s.

So, you're probably already getting this, but the woman in the video was Tawny Kitaen, who was a model and actress that was mainly just known for being hot in the 80s. I think she hooked up with the guitar player from the band Ratt, when they were both teenagers, before he was famous, and she ended up being on the cover of one of their albums, and in one of their music videos, which I guess is what first got her attention. Then she ended up married to the lead singer of Whitesnake for a couple years, and was in a few of their videos. Actually, she's probably more infamous for their video for "Here I Go Again", which is their other huge hit song, but for some reason everyone reacts to this, and not it. Anyways, she had done some TV and movies, but again, she was basically just know for being a hot chick, and she was pretty wild in real life, and it seems kind of about that life. She had an affair with OJ Simpson at one point, and then, she was married to a baseball player for a handful of years, and had a couple daughters with him, but she was eventually arrested after, I guess they got into a fight, and she physically attacked and abused him! Then, I think she got busted a few times, once for having some Cocaine, and I think a couple times for drunk driving. She eventually died, I think due to some odd heart condition.

Whitesnake was so one of the mot popular hard rock bands of the 80s and still around in some form today I think . They went through some personnel changes over the years but singer David Coverdale was the constant. They are actually kind of an off shoot of Deep Purple as Coverdale came from Deep Purple's MK III and MK IV lineups and initially Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice and keyboardist Jon Lord were also in Whitesnake. Paice and Lord were original Deep Purple members and Paice is back with Deep Purple now and Jon Lord passed away. I don't believe Paice or Lord were in Whitesnake at the time of this song.

There are a lot of Whitesnake songs to discover for you. But now, that you started with "Is this love" it would make sense to check out next the other two songs from this video trilogy: "Here I go again" and "Still of the night".

Hey there Bisscute, I've been following your channel and I almost never comment but I enjoy watching you react to these fantastic genre of music, before you proceed to listen to another band I'd really love it if you could react to "Still of the Night" it is a mandaroty song, I can confidently say it would be on the top 3 of all glam metal songs ever played during the 80's and beginnings of the 90's... (in my opinion of course) yeah, it's right there along with "Radar Love" as made famous by White Lion with a fantastic drum solo in the middle of the song (if you could also react to that one please!! 🙏), and to tell you the truth is not very popular with the reactions/reactors since I haven't watched videos on that one, I'd really love it if you could be the first one I watch reacting to it. This song originally belongs to the band "Golden Earring" Which is algo good but in this case I believe the cover overshadowed the original, which is really hard for it to happen but it does. Anyway those are my suggestions for you Bisscute I really hope you can consider them, thanks a lot, I wish more people could support my opinion, you won't be disappointed, guaranteed.
