Whitesnake
Still Of The Night
I came here to say this. You beat me to it!
🔥🔥🔥
If you want the oomph, Still of the night I believe is their best song
1987, actually. One of the biggest rock albums of the 80s. Amazing songs from the first to the last.
Slide It In was a great cassette. My mother wasn't to impressed I was listening to it, but I loved it.
That's the GORGEOUS Tawny Kitaen. She and the lead singer (David Coverdale) were married for 2 years. Unfortunately she passed away in 2021 at the age of 59.
I loved Whitesnake. They were a great band and David is one of the most iconic rock singers. Imho 🤷🏼♀️
@@butterflymama0838 They still are.
Whitesnake "STILL OF THE NIGHT" and "HERE I GO AGAIN" (original videos).
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
RIP Tawny Kitean.
If you want Whitesnake energy, then listen to "Still of the Night ". Then we talk. Hehhe
How about some Deep Purple lead vocals of Burn or Mistreated in 1974.
For some Whitesnake energy, "Take me with you".
90s?
Iconic 80s power ballad
Coverdale has a fantastic rock voice he's just singing this song very softly
The woman is Tawny Kitaen. They were married for a couple of years. He has one of the most iconic rock and roll voices of all time. He did some amazing vocals for Deep Purple as well. This song is supposed to give a more sultry love song vibe as opposed to Still of The Night or Cheap and Nasty
This song is great but it can't be interrupted, because the feeling is growing slowly. And don't stop the solo 🤣
This is one of my favorite love songs of all time. I would not change a thing about the way David Coverdale sings this song, but if you want more umph, then listen to WhiteSnake's In the Still of the Night or Here I Go Again......because they're pretty damn good.
Every song isn't a toe tapper, shake your booty type. He's being reflective in the song and examining his choices. We've all been there.
According to David Coverdale, the lead singer of Whitesnake, the song was written with Tina Turner in mind. Their producer liked the song so much, he suggested Whitesnake record it before pitching the song to Tina Turner. I believe a good choice was made having the band record the song, but can definitely hear Tina Turner singing "Is This Love?". Would have been nice to hear her version of it.
This was all over MTV back in the day... great times class of 87!
One of their best albums from '87.
check out "In the still of the night"!!
“Here I Go Again” is their best song in my opinion! It’s an iconic 80s song. It’s one of my faves for sure ❤
Lead singer David Coverdale was married to the woman in the video Tawny Kitaen.
Should do Still of the Night .. their best song hands down.
Not even in their top ten.
@@celtasnake okey-dokey
Britt will never know how hard it was to make a mixtape back in the day trying to catch a song in rotation and not have the dj talking over the first 10 seconds .. as you are trying to record off the radio shack single speaker deck to your Aiwa tape recording deck hahahaha
Julie Ellen "Tawny" Kitaen Born: August 5, 1961, San Diego, CA Died: May 7, 2021 (age 59 years), Newport Beach, CA. and David Coverdale (m. 1989-1991)
The sexiest voice of 20th century :P
Always great reactions. Whitesnake is mostly a kick-A heavy metal band. Back in the day, they added these songs to their repertoire for airplay and a wider audience. I love the "Atmospheric" sounds of power ballads. But you could try a song like "Burn" to feel the full force of Whitesnake. I'm sure there will be more suggestions for the best versions of heavy Whitesnake.
7:11 I bundle this group with all of the Big Hairspray Bands! I place them on the scale of these rather boring bands from 1-10, one being the lowest. They are a 4, and I'm giving them a little extra slack 😐...I group this band with the likes of: Cinderella, Ratt, Motley Crue, GNR, Bon Jovi, & Oh Hell, there's just to many to count! There were to many other bands to listen to. These type of bands all sounded alike and a huge waste of time!! There was REAL MUSIC to be heard! AC/DC, John Cougar/Mellencamp. The Cars, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, Ozzy Osborne, Peter Frampton, Boston, Ted Nugent, also to many to count!! I'll set this amazing band in this group, because they stood far apart from the Big Hair Bands, and I'll be more than happy to have Def Leppard on my side...LOL 😂 WAIT!! I almost forgot! How I skipped this incredible popular singer Bryan Adams.
Britt , first off THANK YOU for doing the studio album version of this song. It has one of my favorite guitar solos in it. John Sykes smooth , creamey Les Paul neck pickup tone is gorgeous. This ballad is a little more laid back than most cause it was originally written for Tina Turner to sing. She turned it down. Think of her song We Don't Need Another Hero.
One of the "Hair Band" rock groups from the 80's. Great times, with great music!
I remember when cable tv started in the 80's and one of first cable tv channels was MTV and all they played 24/7 was music videos and they played this and "Here we go again" by Whitesnake a lot. And same girl was in it.
I love the sound of this song, and I love the chorus.
Written by David Coverdale and John Sykes. Released in 1987. Great 🙏 guitar ballad. Suggested ballad video 📹 Whitesnake performs The Deeper the Love 💘
RIP Tawny Kitean. She was in WKRP in Cincinnati 2, many music videos.
Beyond Beautiful 🔥
Never stop song during the guitar solo.
Never ever.
Eveyone's saying Still Of The Night but Here I Go Again is the 80s rock anthem and the music video ALL the boys waited for MTV to play.
Agreed. I always thought that Still of the Night was mid.
Hecwas an amazing singer. And he had steve via the greatest guitarist in anerica
Receiving a notification that BrittReacts has posted a new reaction is a silver lining to my usually dreadful day.
But actually getting home and watching her reaction is always pure gold.
I liked Whitesnake but not overly that much; but back then once one "rock band" found success with a rock ballad then almost every rock band tried it as well whether they really wanted to or not. It just made sense to try and a lot succeeded as well.
The lead singer and the woman model actress Tawny Kitean were married during this video. She was big time in the rock word with musicians for her beauty. She died a few years ago. RIP Tawny Kitean.
Fantastic song! One of the GREATEST Rock Ballads of all time i think, definitely a CLASSIC 80s Rock Ballad and GROUP! Remember this when i was a kid and also having this on various Roxk Compilation albums as an adult in the 2000s.. This video was a steamy one back then. She was Hot as..
Sadly i think i saw she passed away recently, but cant be sure..
You should do a couple more of their Rock hits from the 80s.. Hes got a great voice tbh. 👍🏻🏴🇬🇧
The first sighting of Tawny Kitaen in "Here I Go Again" flipped a bunch of boys into manhood. 🤣 12% too cool. Also, them shoulderpads.
Yes and we all agreed she could dance on our cars. 😂
If you react to Here We Go Again by Whitesnake, you should follow it up with 1985 by Bowling for Soup. It's a bit of a parody.
Unfortunately, Whitesnake went through a lot of changesin their lineup over the years with lead singer David Coverdale being the only constant. There wasn't enough room in the band for so many giant egos with Coverdale's being the largest. Coverdale also recorded an album with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Titled Coverdale-Page, it is a decent album, but not up to Led Zeppelin standards.
Love your reactions and YOU are pure fire! Wow, you are beautiful.
RIP Tawny Kitean - she was also in The Bachelor with Tom Hanks - Like everyone else, check out Still Of The Night and Here I Go Again - Whitesnake and these videos were epic for that genre in the 80s.
80’s and I always felt like he was almost mimicking Robert Plant from Zeppelin
1987.
Late 80s beautiful ❤
Slow rock love ballad 🎸 🤘🔥
I always felt this was a quiet conversation in his consciousness
Saw em way back when. His vocals were more like a bit air raid-ish. Pretty cool to hear live, but now time has taken its toll on him as it does most singers. Thank God for recordings.
He was in Deep Purple for a bit as well. David's been active since before the 80s.
A huge song at that time. My first wife when I told her that this is the song of my life up until then.
Excellent reaction!!! Again. "Still of the Night" by Whitesnake is a must.
80's this was the soundtrack of that decade
listen to their other songs that they have had. "Still of the night" or "here I go again" , "here Imp go again" "Give me all your love ", "looking for love" and many more great songs!!!
You want more mid 80's? This was 1987 right in the middle of the power ballad era that included Lita Ford/Ozzy Osborne Close My Eyes Forever, Def Leppard Love Bites, Great White Save Your Love.
For a rocker listen to Here I Go Again from Whitesnake.
1987
Still of the Night is your RED PEPPER FLAKES!❤
Great reaction AS usual, Love YA!
You're the best!
Dreary…. That hurt my feelz… he is pure SMEXY-ness 😎🤘🔥🥰💜
Another band I saw live back in the late 80’s or early 90’s.
From 1987. They were actually asked to write a song for Tina Turner from her producer and this is what they wrote. When they presented this to him he loved it but suggested they should just do it themselves. But I definitely could here Tina doing a version though
Love Whitesnake!! Tawny Kitaen was one of the most beautiful women in the world!! Gorgeous hair! Tawny was born in San Diego 🏖️ and died in Newport Beach of heart disease! 😢 It was rumored that she had an affair with O.J. Simpson. Anyway, my favorite Whitesnake song is HERE I GO AGAIN and it’s pretty saucy & sexy! 🌻
As many have mentioned, Still of the Night is a fantastic tune. I also love Slide It In. Both are more rockers.
Loved that you called out the toxic aspect👍
Nearly all the great rock singers who came into the late 60s and 70s all listened to soul and blues from the late 50s and 60s .Steve Perry favourite singer who he styled himself after was Sam Cooke .
Here I Go Again, is my favorite.
This music genre is called "Power Love "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out their song Crying In The Rain. His voice on that tune is awesome!!!!
they did the theme song for the movie days of thunder songs called Last note of freedom
Tawny was so beautiful! RIP
In the mid to late '80's it seemed that every heavy metal or hard rock band came out with at least one "power ballad".
This album has so many good to great songs. I remember it being 5X Platinum, probably more now. Besides the hits I like “Bad Boys”, “Children of the Night”, and “Crying in the Rain” a lot.
Loved growing up in this musical era
This is definitely an R&B-inspired power ballad. I would suggest continuing with their Whitesnake album, also known as 1987. That's the one that made them popular in the States. Try Still of the Night, Here I Go Again '87, Give Me All Your Love, and Crying in the Rain '87. Then go to Love Ain't No Stranger and Slow an' Easy off of Slide It In. Then Fool for Your Loving '89, and Now You're Gone from Slip of the Tongue. I think The Deeper the Love may be too mellow for you. Then listen to all three albums in full! That's a good start!
You gotta check out In The Still Of The Night…You won’t regret it! David Coverdale (singer) has the softest hands ever! lol…Enjoy! ✌🏻🇨🇦✌🏻
Coverdale originally wrote this for Tina Turner to sing, but Geffen said Whitesnake had to record it.
LOL! This is absolutely the slowest tempo song of Whitesnake. "Still of the Night" , "Love Ain't No Strange" and "Crying in the Rain" are more rocking.
back in the 80s, the lady in this video dancing (Tawny Kitaen) was his wife.. she steams uip another video Whitesnake - Here I Go Again '87 (Official Music Video) ua-cam.com/video/WyF8RHM1OCg/v-deo.htmlsi=pz5Ac2DiB1jn2Acx
The mandatory ballad on the album. For something a bit "spicier" try Slo' and Easy, Here I go again, or Still of the Night.
Good woman Britt I love your content and this savage song 😊🎵 💕
This song was the mandatory ballad required by Geffen Records at the time... the formula was 2 rockers, followed by a ballad... this brought women to the shows more readily... Poison, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard were exceptions to this rule.
correction the Lead singer David Coverdal '' solo ? " did Last note of freedom odd since the Same band members were playing haa!
she was the love interest in early tom hanks comedy BACHELOR PARTY and become lead singer's wife years later. song is from late mid 80s.
Yes, and I WISH some reaction channel would do Bachelor Party!
Another she was in was, Witchboard, if interested, Britt.
Still of the night!
great song......
Still of the night/ Here I go again/ love ain't no stranger
can never go wrong with some WS
This song made her super famous
High school year song...I was a freshman 87
My favourite Whitesnake song is Slow an Easy.
check out Whitesnake Still of the night!
When I first heard Whitesnake on the radio, I had no idea what they looked like and thought that the singer was black.
STILL OF THE NIGHT!!&!
Year is 1987. Singer David Coverdale has a great voice! This is not a song that really showcases his vocal range. Tawny Kitaen was 🔥back in the day (R.I.P.)
Love Your you tube keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
This was off their self titled album in 1987. The whole album was great. Their older stuff is good, though maybe a bit provocative in its lyrics for you, Britt. (Maybe) haha
It is a simple “hair band” power ballad, which isn’t a bad thing, but in my opinion David Coverdale’s vocals really stand out on “Still of the Night”
I still listen to Slide It In album Slow n Easy too good. Great band still rocking stages
Rock on!
There's
a thin line between toxic and passionate...
Definitely this video when it came out was about romantic sexual passion...not everything in life can be controlled nor should it 💜
Great White "House of Broken Love".
Britt... It's funny you say this about R & B... This song, was originally written for Tina Turner... She heard the demos and really wanted the song. David Coverdale later wanted to keep the song for himself... Rumors were Tina, wasn't happy about that at all. It was a hit anyway for Whitesnake.
I remember her.
This is the music I was listening too in high school .. man it was awesome back then driving muscle cars .. Cinderella is another hairband that got me in trouble in school :) .. open campus lunch could go to MCD and get .99 big macs .. even had a pull knob smoke machine within walking distance .. :)
Couldn't agree more!
My personal favorite is "The Deeper the Love" I especially love the acoustic version. But, that's just me
1987, had to look it up
Check out their song Still of the Night
Please please check out Journey Mother Father live in Houston the vocal acrobatics are incredible ❤❤❤
La música de hoy es puro grito, afinado pero grito al fin, así que para ella esto es "lack of energy". Que juventud..
