Damn fucking right! Tawny is probably in my mind the most beautiful woman I've ever seen on screen or anywhere else. Something so ultra sexy about her when she smiles. I can't get over it.
I feel Tawny was the undisputed Queen of 80s MTV rock videos. She was 26/27 here with a absolutely unforgettable look - just beautiful. Come to think of it, she reminds me of our girl Stacey here! Gotta recommend 'Here I go again' & 'Still of the night' Nice reaction! Love the music conversation & nostalgia. The 80s was a magical fantasyland of a time.
David Coverdale's voice is incredible and the era of '80s power ballads were something truly special. Also, Still of the Night is a must reaction because we would all love to see your thoughts on that song. RIP Tawny Kitaen!
Tawny Kittaen was married to the lead singer Dd's David Coverdale for a few years and was in most of their videos during their marriage. She passed away a few years ago. Every boy and man wanted her during these days 😍
Everyone seems to misspell her name, it was Tawny Kitaen. She and David Coverdale eventually got married and then divorced. She has unfortunately passed away. She stars in a few other Whitesnake videos, notably Still Of The Night and Here I Go Again. You should definitely react to those!
I grew up in the eighties I miss it so much. I was a metal head but you also listened to all these awesome love songs. We didn't have all this technology. It was a awesome time. We would all get together on a Friday and Saturday night down by the river with 100 people and have a bon fire and just listen to all the rock and metal groups. Fun times 🎉😊
The guitar work by Sykes on the hole album is something else I’m really happy you noticed the guitar solo in this song I really enjoy your taste and even if you’re not a musician you got this keep it up!!!! Good stuff Stacey!!! ❤
@@Zorros2ndCousinTwiceRemoved just as valid as this one imo but all reactors seem to do the same tracks - this one or ‘here I go again’ followed by ‘still of the night’. I think in some respects his vocal inflections are more interesting in ‘the deeper the love’ than either of the first two. Personal taste granted, just a shame that most reactors seem to do the same songs.
@AdmiralDonkey yep! Again, I totally agree! That and the updated version of Fool For Your Loving. A deeper track from SOTT that's great also is Sailing Ships.
@@AdmiralDonkey That, however, is totally true. While I, too, would recommend SOTN simply because of the interesting song structure and the vocals - it IS a very unique song -, I have to agree with the rest. That said, I also think there's a reason that TDTL didn't become as much of a hit as the 1987 songs, but of course opinions vary on that. 🙂
i was 18 when 1980 arrived and for better and worse lol...came of age in the 80's...had my first true girlfriend in the early 80's and met my eventual wife in 1987.....just like any other era...it had its ups and downs....its good points and bad ones!! Thank you for your wonderful reaction young lady!!....its very much appreciated!!
Almost all of the songs on the 87 album , were recorded on guitar by John Sykes . I believe Adrian Vandenberg did some little things here and there , to finish it up 100% . But most all of it on guitar was John Sykes .
What would be of Whitesnake's videos without Tawny Kitaen!!!! She was a goddess, R.I.P. Beautiful song and beautiful reaction❤ Keep on discovering more of this great band!
Arguably the best power ballad of all time imo. Could listen to this on repeat all day! That guitar solo is epic. Whitesnake are great! Tawny Kitaen was absolutely stunning too. Her and Olivia Newton John ( late 70s era see A little More Love studio video) were two of the most beautiful women to ever walk this earth. Love your reaction. So much enthusiam for the 80s! :)
David Coverdale is the lead vocalist... he was the former vocalist of Deep Purple in 70's and with the split of the group, he formed Whitesnake and Ritchie Blackmore (DP guitarist) and John Lord (DP keyboards) formed Rainbow.
Many young people I know share your feeling-they would have loved to experience that era. I enjoyed your reaction to the video and hope you continue to explore this band. Songs like "Here I Go Again," "The Deeper the Love," and "Still of the Night," among others, truly defined a generation. Keep up the great work!
I was 10 years old in 1987. Have been listening to this tune and album ever since. LOVE this guitar solo and always have! I don't play guitar often but need to fire it up and play some John Sykes magic 😜
The lady is Tawny Kitaen (1961 ‑ 2021) she was the girlfriend/wife of the lead singer depending on the time frame. You should check out “still of the night” or better yet “here I go again” the best song.
The guitar player for the solo is John Sykes. That round and super warm tone that starts it is called his "Woman tone". The name should be self explanatory. 😉 Sykes and the band's singer and founder, David Coverdale, just had a magical chemistry for this album. There is a reason this album was one of the best of the decade.
This song and "The Deeper the Love" are total baby-making tunes! 😀I feel lucky to have had my teen years in the 80's. No smartphones or internet to distract from real life!
Brought back memories. I knew the woman in the video "Tawny Kitaen". I did a film with her in 1984 called "Witchboard". Good memories. Unfortunately, she had a "tough stretch" in her life and she died too young. Great video and great commentary reaction Stacey, I'm an old dog now but a new fan of your channel.
A rock band from the 80's when actual videos were on MTV. This style of music is sometimes referred to as hair metal back in the day which were my high school days, and it evokes memories of that time in my life. Power ballads like this were done by many bands like Steelheart and White Lion and many others. Let me know if you need more info on 80's music which was the best decade of my life!!! Those two, David Coverdale and Tawney Kittan, were dating at that time and I don't know if they ever married. I have all this type of music on LP. This style of rock started to fade in late 80's and early 90's as grunge and similar music gained popularity. A tragedy in my opinion.
80's in music (and in film, but more in music) was a magical time. It was a time when music videos were something fairly new (they started to make real music videos with some kind of a storytelling in the late 70s, early 80's). So there was a lot of magic, theatricality and coolnes in them. It was an art form new to explore and they've explored it very much ;) Synthesiser sounds were fairly new as well so they were heavily used in almost everything and this made this era sound and look so magical and nostalgic. One of the music videos ever have been created in the 80's, I mean a video for Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer. It looks amazing till this day.
I was 20 in 1980 and a DJ at a nightclub. Disco was going out, and hair metal was very popular. Some great music in all genres came out during this time. Back then, raido stations still did their own programming. So you could hear new stuff all the time. Raido today is so controlled that you hear only what they deem worthy and most of it sucks. There is some good rock coming out now. Bands like the warring are leading a rock comeback.
Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale and the late Tawny Kitaen were married on this day (February 17th) in 1989. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, and they were divorced in April 1991. Sadly, Kitaen passed away on May 7, 2021 from heart disease at the age of 59.
prior to forming Whitesnake, David Coverdale was the lead singer with Deep Purple (replacing Ian Gillan). Whitesnake were masters of the power ballad, although some of their earlier music was heavier. Try Fool for your Loving or Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City for older tracks.
You don't have to have experienced the 80s to find them cool. They are cool. Whitesnake - Still of the night & Here I go again Crazy Lixx - Girls of the 80's
R. I. P. Tawni Kitaen!! a super sexy video vixen also was an actress that played in bachelor party with Tom Hanks. Tawni Kitaen and David Coverdale, who is the singer for Whitesnake, we’re married at one time. Tawni Kitean also was on the cover for Ratts “Out of the Cellar” album.
Glad you enjoyed this one Stacey. This song is one of the core memories from young adulthood....Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Poison, Van Halen, Def Leppard. Amongst so many other forming the basis for at least part of my musical taste. And yes like others have mentioned also a major crush for a time with their choice of model opposite David Coverdale in this music video. 🤣A lot of great covers on UA-cam of this song, one I enjoy especially is a semi acoustic version by Sershen & Zaritskaya who now go by NOAPOLOGY with their original music.
Hello, Stacey! "Is This Love" by Whitesnake is amazing and really takes me back in time. It's unavoidable, especially if you were a rock kid like me in that era. I had this album and the song is incredible. Tawny Kitaen was beautiful. The first time I saw her was on the Ratt "Out of the Cellar" album cover in '84. Everything else has already been said, but it brings back so many memories! Thanks for the reaction. Cheers!
The great thing about the 80s is that, regardless of what real world problems we had, there was always the sense that things were good, that life was worth living, there was a hopefulness and almost playful sense, and we always were told that if we went for it, checked it out, and put forth the effort, we could do anything. A lot of those slogans like go for it were even in our TV shows (Knight Rider comes to mind). These days, everything's negative, everyone has to buy into narratives, everyone talks in metaphors and don't actually say what they mean, and reality is relative and forever the victim. Not that everyone does this, but our mainstream culture is like this. For guys like me (GenX), I do think we had it the worst, because we got to live in an era where our society wasn't like this, and we had to watch it turn into what it is now. Younger folks didn't get to experience things as they were in this era, so they didn't have it slowly rot away from them. Thank God we have the internet at least, so we can see and listen to our favorites from that era to give us that reminder of what life used to be like.
Looking for Love is another slow ballady song of theirs with amazing guitar. Or you've got "Straight For The Heart" or "Here I Go Again" which are a bit quicker.
An absolutely legendary band and David Coverdale would have to be considered amongst the greatest rock vocalists of all time. Strongly.... STRONGLY recommend the song Still Of The Night from the Live In The Still Of The Night concert dvd, from 2004. Or pretty much any track from that dvd, really.
Beautiful lady and fantastic reaction ❤ WHITESNAKE: STILL OF THE NIGHT, and HERE I GO AGAIN, should be next reactions video. You’re awesome 😎 Keep it up 👍
A big song for sure.... originally written by Coverdale for Tina Turner.... and once his management heard the demo, they were like "er......nope, you're going to cut this one yourself. Tina aint getting her mitts on this". And the more you listen to it, the more you could hear Tina singing it.
Man! I got into the 80s scene in like hahah late 2000s but I promise you almost every song was a ballad or had to be one. Music back then was so damn good back to back bangers
Its,crazy to think back,to the height of the "Hair Metal"era. You could turn on the pop radio station, in your car,and hear these bands on that station, along with Duran Duran,Madonna, and Michael Jackson!!!
One of my favorite bands of the 80s. Great videos and super talented band. Listen to Whitesnakes' other song 'Still of the Night'. Check out Night Ranger as well. Specifically the song 'Don't tell me you love me'. Awesome band and song. Anything Journey as well
Stacey David Coverdale was and still is a great Vocalist, great vocal, Whitesnake had more them 15 Top songs, Still of the night, Give me all your love, Now you re gone, fool for you re Loving, The deeper the love, just few great examples of Whitesnake Songs 🤙🎸💯💯
Many comments about Tawny. Also some suggestions for still of the night. Every time I hear that song and see the video I love the guitar played with a violin bow. Loved your reaction Stacey
In addition to the Whitesnake songs people will recommend, Dave Coverdale was known for being an excellent cover of Robert Plant, to the point that he and Jimmy Page did an album together later on (Coverdale-Page). It has a number of monster songs that are well worth experiencing, from wacky/sexy little fun hits like "Shake My Tree" and "Pride and Joy" to the serious blues-rocker "Absolution Blues" and ESPECIALLY the heart-rending metal piece "Whisper a Prayer for the Dying" which I think you would really appreciate. Jimmy brought a number of riffs that he'd been developing since his Led Zeppelin days, and David just freaking wokked and roared the vocals. Yah, "Whisper a Prayer for the Dying" is what I'd recommend. It so good, and it hurts so real, and the execution of it is just freaking perfect on all fronts. It's kinda like an evil twin to "Kashmir"
i was born 1972, loved the 80s, even though my favorite whitesnake song is fool for your loving, i think the ballads are cool to, Dave Coverdale is one of the top metal singers ever
Another awesome British soft rock/metal group.. That broke into America. P.S. 3:45 that's Tawny Kitaen his wife. Married in 89 separated & divorced 2 years later. RIP 1961~2021
Ahhhh Tawny Kittain every teenage boy from the 80s dreamed about her. She was married to David Coverdale the lead singer. You should do Hero I Go Again, In The Still of The Night, Slide It In(yes it’s exactly what it sounds like), Slow and Easy.

Coverdale is one of the best, powerful voices in rock. Listen to Deep Purple's Burn. And Stacy you captured the '80s in your description of it!

80s and 90s music, not other music ever will be matched of this ERA.
i was born 1972, loved the 80s, even though my favorite whitesnake song is fool for your loving, i think the ballads are cool to, Dave Coverdale is one of the top metal singers ever
Tawny Kitaen was hot!!😍😍
Oh yeah, Whitesnake, great song 😂😂
Let's go back to the early Whitesnake and try " Ain't gonna cry no more" This is before all the excess of the late 80s when he really opens his soul
Whites ake: still of the night is really good. Must listen.
please Please PLEASE do a reaction to "Still of the Night". so many tempo changes, bridges, energy, haunting
