This is absolute gold. I have always wondered why people didn't make these videos. Maybe they are trying to keep the skill barrier higher for newbs. Either way, best video on Chiv 2 is right here. Well done.
There’s at least a couple other high level chiv players on UA-cam and twitch that have plenty of in-depth and basic tutorials but this one is super well done.
tbh the game gives you a basic understanding of drags and accels so i think it was just that
You’re correct… they’ll give you some good tips but leave out subtle nuisances that will give them the edge in 1v1
@@greg6162 such as the get real close so you contact behind them with a downward swing. Or some animations don’t need to hit you with the sword. The hands are enough? Little things like these. Perhaps that some players use macros. I was dueling and fought one guy that had a very specific open followed with always the same attack. Then he would move on from that attack position himself a certain way, then follow up with 2 more attacks exactly the way. He always attacked this way and never deterred. I thought it was interesting and didn’t think too much about it because I now had the structure and foot work of his attacks always the same. But I was having troubles with it. So I moved onto the second place person on the leader boards. I thought I was playing the same guy. Same opening same foot work. Same weapons. More importantly, the timing was exactly the same. Exactly. This confirmed a suspicion I was starting to have about this game, that people are using macros to help with their fighting, instead of manually inputting all commands.

I had completely learn spins and rainbow drags and speed ups all on my own because of how much people gate keep this skill info so thank you for a more detailed tutorial
Absolute cap the amount of tutorials on accels and drags for this game is unprecedented you just didn’t have the initiative to look for it

Dude, thank you so much for these. The tutorial is extremely bare bones, and although I am playing this game more, I feel like I still don’t get the mechanics given the game has so little info to draw upon. I often don’t know what I am doing right, nor what I am doing wrong. These videos are so helpful in demystifying the game and making it more accessible.
I am routinely in the top 5 on my team in regular 64 player games and now I can see myself being number 1 more often, thanks! I have been dragging and acceling of course but this will stop my inability to deal with falchion spam.

Worth mentioning as well, with a weapon like the executioner axe, I can get close to the enemy and sort of move sideways as I drag a swing. Then my axe hits him in the back . The heavy mace is great for that too, little bum taps everywhere 😂

Just what I needed.
Believe it or not, I actually started to get good at this naturally during the training mode matches against bots right after I got my hands on the greatsword and highland sword, since the bots will just zerg around you and I found it was easier to deal with them all as fast as possible before I was overwhelmed.

800 hours in Mordhau, just got Chiv 2 this afternoon.. 238 kills already, virtually nobody uses accels and drags so the drag waxe always catches them off guard
I use faster weapons so often I have to feint then use a heavy drag. Gets them almost every time.
Please make a video on how to beat a kick all the new players all they do is kick. Love your videos longtime subscriber

I have to say that sadly I knew all this (240 hrs on chiv 2, but was hoping to maybe find sth I have not figured out yet^^).
Yet I also have to say that you put it up well and in a good an logical order and you went even a little further, not just plainly telling the basics, but also giving recommendations on how to use which weapons in combination with drags and accels. BTW I personally find surprisingly good results in dragging the mace/morningstar, as most people are not conditioned to it, probably the best weapon to drag with of all small arms.
I am currently training some new players from time to time and I could not have explained it any better, so I am going to recommend your guides!

great video, very informative! A bit of constructive criticism.. I think at some points in the video the music gets too loud and competes with your voice. (like around the 4 minute mark).

With stabs cant footwork accel by walking forward? I do this often with long weapoms amd ot seems to work as i intend. Inverse for backpedaling slightly as you stab

At the end of the video, you designate the battle-axe as a good accel and the war-axe as a good drag weapon. Is this right? I thought the battle-axe was slower (at least the overheads are) than the other one?
Battle axe feels faster to me. War axe also has more range and a long release time, which really helps with its drags.

Sorry for making more than one comment but I have watched this video 50 times . I have been playing chilvary for about 7 months and I was at the point where I wasn’t getting no better I was in a rut, but since this video, I think I’m going to get better now I always wondered how to do a stab drag thank you for showing that. I would pay a hundred dollars for a one on one lesson for just 20 minutes… lol

Hi, is there any info about block while attacking without canceling the attack?
I see some players do that, i attack before them but my attack got block with their attack animation and i get hit.
It's not a riposte or a counter because there's no blocking animation at all and they do in while they are exposed when attacking
The game is broken. As you see in this video.lol if you press block while attacking simultaneously or some shit, you'll block while swinging. Timing has to be right.
If instead I am aiming away from the enemy before the swing starts to delay / accel am I doing it wrong ? Like aim at the ground first hand and then swing ?
Its not "wrong" but its easier for your enemy to see it coming. For drags, try to pull away once the release phase of the weapon begins. For accels, make sure your weapon is as close to them as possible before the release phase begins.
@@StripedSweater Thanks for the advice man, it means a lot comming from a beast player like you. I have about 300 h in the game, but I am not good enough to do this in the heat of battle, the way I said is the only reliable way to do it without thinking. For the average oponent and for my mediocre skill level, it will have to do.

Maybe I’m stupid but I’ve watched tons of video’s recently (just got the game this week) but how do you swing from other than default on console ?
Tap block button and whatever attack you want
there is no alternate attack button on console? press that before doing any type of attack to swing in the opposite direction.

There's a reason these moves aren't included in the tutorial. They are exploits of hit-boxes. Not chivalrous.

Why do the whole tutorial in first person
First or third, the mechanics work the exact same. Third is generally easier to understand and perform drags/accels, so by showing how to do them properly in first, it helps anyone who perfers to play in that perspective.

I'd say dagger is best if you're looking for raw damage output/assassination capabilities. Hatchet is great for damage all around in head to head or sneak attacks. Short sword probably offers the best survival chance when getting swarmed as it has increased range.

The fact that this information, or at least a link to this information isn’t in the game itself is one of the sole reasons is that there is a giant skill gap, and that it makes this game bad and its core
It actually does explain this in the tutorial. The problem is half the player base refuses to use it.
