Thank you so much🤍🤍😊 set up has definitely changed a tad since uploading this video but it’s holding up great! So excited for you and your future bp 🥰🥰
Green Sloth thank you! I heavily mist the enclosure about every 3-4 days or when needed and I water the plants once ever 7-10 days/ when needed so the humidity is pretty stable with all that 😊 and for the heat source I am using a ProHeat Radiant Heat Panel 😊
The soil composition looks pretty different from the dart frog setups I'm more familiar with in terms of bioactive, they tend to be chunkier (bark, coco chips, bits of charcoal, etc) for better drainage and less compaction. How is it holding up? Edit: your snek is adorable 💖
Hi! It’s actually been holding up well! I did have to add some coco chips around the edges to give the soil some more support. The edges were caving in from Sabor slithering in the soil. But I also aerate the soil regularly by poking holes it in so it could be part of the reason the drainage is still decent (: definitely have learned a lot since making this video and I agree, I should of added coco chips to the entire mixture so I wouldn’t of had to poke holes so often but live and learn 😊 other than that plants have been thriving, and the cuc is still going strong 💪🏼 Thank you so much 🥰🥰🤍
This looks like a really great setup, I couldn't find many other people who used a false bottom but I really want to use a setup similar to yours when I eventually get my BRB. What sort of thermostat did you use? And do you use any humidity control?
Thank you so much! After speaking with several people who have tropic bioactive setups it was highly recommended to have a drainage layer to prevent water from pooling and help keep the soil aerated! However, I know people have had success without drainage layers, I just felt more comfortable including one (: As far as thermostats go I am using a BNLink that I purchased off Amazon, its a simple on-off thermostat. To keep a high humidity I heavily mist the enclosure ever 2-3 days and water the plants every week.
Hi! During the day I keep the temperature around 85-80F (29-26C), and at night it stays between 80-75F (26-23C)! The highest I would allow the temperature to go would be 87F, I live in Texas so we get some pretty hot days here. You should really aim for 85/86F to be your max temp 😊 if it gets warmer than that just be sure to mist to keep the humidity they need! Lmk if you have other questions (:
Hi there! new sub here! Love your video!!! I too have a BRB, she is my baby and I absolutely adore her:) I am partially blind and I could not see the name of the enclosure you used...Can you tell me where you purchased yours? Thank you! Emily
when you set up the drainage layer do you still need to run a tube to actually drain the water or no since you’re using clay pebbles? probably a dumb question but i just wanted to be sure lol
Not dumb at all! You can add a drainage tube if you want, like if you think you’ll be watering a lot (: I haven’t noticed any issues not having one though!
www.scaleboxes.com The enclosure is a 4x2x2 with swinging doors, the guy makes models now with sliding doors, I have 2 of them and I love both styles! Amazing enclosures
I purchased it from a reptile expo, places like that or Joshs Frogs and Amazon do carry it as well! I used the Zoomed brand called "New Zealand Sphagnum Moss" but other brands should work just as well :)
In my opinion yes (: the soil mixture is good at holding humidity! One thing I have changed since filming this is that I added Reptichip and just mixed into the top part of the soil. If I let it the humidity naturally would drop to around 60-70%
Apologies I just saw this! I’m not sure if the company ships over there :/ I’m sorry, but I would definitely look around if you haven’t already because I have some uk friends that have some but I don’t know the names of company
The light in this video is a Feit Electric 2ftx2ft LED grow light that I purchased from Home Depot. The light is only 19 watts but after a few days of having it set up I noticed it was putting off A LOT of heat, enough that I ended up turning off my RHP because I was getting a hot spot of 85F with just the light. Since the light is non-dimmable, I worried about my enclosure overheating and potentially killing Sabor, so I ended up switching to a NICREW ClassicLED Aquarium Light for fish tanks. These lights are designed to emit less heat and I have some friends who have had success using these lights in bioactives, so fingers crossed I will have more success with this light. (so far so good though).
@@solismax65 in my opinion the Nicrew light is enough and it’s great for the plants and supporting growth! If you wanted to add UVB that’s up to you, they are a nocturnal species which is why I don’t think it’s necessary (:
Thank you!! So the enclosure has a 6inch bottom lip, I would say the 1st inch made up the drainage layer so about 5 inches of soil I would say! Since setting it up I’ve had to add soil to it twice since over time it breaks down
You did an amazing job! And I am digging your Banba shirt! 😍😍😍 keep up the amazing work, love! 💕✨
Thank you so much 😍 and of course I had to represent Mr. Banba ♥
love the mossy looks the branches very natural.
love snakes too..BRB 🐍 are beautiful 😍 ❤ but I'm planning on a male ball python .u did great 👍 job

ty ..would love to see a update video on enclosure now . your BRB too..
First viewer. So glad I could give you tips about cypress and bioactive enclosures!
💖 thankful for you!!
I'm so late but I finially got around to watching this 😂 it looks super good! And there's no such thing as too much moss
katie r hahaha fashionably late 😂 And thank you 😊 and true I could have honestly used the whole bag 😂
There are so few BRB videos out there so as soon as I saw yours pop up, I had to watch! Great video :)
Talia B thank you so much😊
I absolutely love these snakes! I’m glad I found your channel!
So awesome!
you're awesome 💖
beautyful setup 🌷🌿👍
So happy you made a youtube video! I will be getting a CRB soon and this is super helpful!

YESSS 🙌 new fave channel, whew
awe youre amazing ♥
this looks absolutely amazing!!!
thank you so much ♥
Cooles Video 👍🏼
Thank you!
Damn girl go all out, you used so many different products in the soil
Hahah yeah 😂 but it all has its purpose imo(:
Great video! How do you keep humidity up? Also, which heat sources are being used?

Shouldve mixed in sphagnum moss and orchid bark into the soil to help with drainage and to help against compacting 🤷🏽♂️
Haha yeah, I ended up mixing in reptichip because it was what I had one hand about a month or so after posting this (: definitely agree!
@@snakeemthusiast nice i forgot to add great looking enclosure 🤘🏽
Hi there,
Could you tell me what temperature you have in the terrarium ? I from spain

@@snakeemthusiast thanks you very much
What temperatures do you use during the day and what do you use at night for the Rainbow Boa???
Hi! Sorry I just responded to your other comment with my temperature range (: thanks for the question!
Buen video que medidas tiene el terrario
Thank you! The dimensions are 48x24x24 inches. (¡Gracias! Las dimensiones son 48x24x24 pulgadas.)

ILLUM• LIFE thank you so much beautiful 😍 and I’m so happy for you! The enclosure is made by Scale Box 😊👍🏼

Do you still do a full deep clean or not since its bioactive?
I don’t since it’s a bioactive! I’ll clean the walls every couple months and add new soil but that’s about it!
Where did you get the cage
scale box! Great company with great quality cages!
What is the size of the enclosure? You have a link?

where did you get the sphagnum moss from?
I purchased it from a reptile expo, places like that or Joshs Frogs and Amazon do carry it as well!
I used the Zoomed brand called "New Zealand Sphagnum Moss" but other brands should work just as well :)
With a little less moss this would you say this is a good set up for a boa imperator ?
