I personally hate snakes, well-scared and ignorant maybe the more appropriate words. However, my son found son found your channel on UA-cam. And I just want to personally acknowledge I have a great respect for what you do. It appears, as I am ignorant, your main focus is education and preservation. I’m not sure if I would be anymore comfortable handling snakes, but I just wanted to say you do an AWESOME job regarding education; as I have learned a lot. Again, I’m not sure I would be okay holding one, but I have found beauty and fascination where I never thought I would. Thank you, my 5 year old has learned a lot from your videos, and now it is something we do together. Great job, with educating the public about one of the biggest phobias! Keep up the good work!
Comments like those always make me appretiate UA-cam as a learning plattform. Also mad respect to you for not dismissing something you are personally afraid of but instead looking into it and finding something to do with your son instead!
Brenda Robinson because my son likes it. I go back and watch this channel because it’s super educational and takes the fear and stigma off of snakes. ☺️
Mrs. Hunter I’m so happy that you are willing to watch this and become more educated in snakes with your son, I wish my mom would be more willing to let me get one

Emily: Aww my baby has this BEAUTIFUL colouration and she’s SO PRETTY. You get a new habitat!! Ed: ASSERT YOUR DOMINANCE LITTLE ONE! I love this channel
I only have pet rats but I totally understand how exciting it is to get them bigger cages, new toys, etc. For them to play with!! I absolutely adore watching you create cool spaces for your snakes!
One of the best parts of these videos is seeing the genuine excitement in the faces and voices of Ed and Emily when they talk about snakes, reptiles, and all of their other animals! It's so nice to watch!
Ed is so vocal in this episode! I love it! Hi ED! Love this channel so much, as always thanks for the vids ♥ PS: I love that you and Ed say the same stuff its adorable!
What an absolutely brilliant montage Ed made to show the different aspects to the cage and your lovely array of garter snakes enjoying their new home! Honestly can't believe how much I've come to appreciate snakes, lizards and the host of other animals you have. It's so refreshing to watch people who so obviously love, respect and care for their animals and pass on their knowledge both on UA-cam and your presentations. What a great treat for young kids to be able to learn about the correct way to look after animals but in a fun, interactive way.
My 3 yr old son and i watch your channel. I love how educational you are. And how much you really care about your animals. After watching a couple other snake channels I'm glad I came across yours a lot of them mishandle there critters. But you can see that you try to give them their best possible life which is awesome
The editing in this video was phenomenal! Haha also, congrats on your new enclosure!🎉🎉🎉 Emily I just love your enthusiasm and both yours and Ed's personalities. My fascination with reptiles has only compounded since finding your channel and it's not just the sneks that I love!❤️
That's such a cool set up, I'd love to eventually move my geckos and Hognose to stackable set ups like that. Also, throwing in my vote for More Ed 2019
The little fold that runs from the tip of their nose up over their eyes makes them look perpetually grumpy and it is adorable! Really enjoyed this video and the thing that stuck out to me the most was just how light weight the enclosure is! I've got very bad shoulders and handling heavy tanks is a nightmare but this enclosure looks like a dream to me in terms of ability to move it around!
Lindsay MacGregor it’s a type of setup in which microfauna (things like springtails and rolly pollies) are used to help “clean” the enclosure. Often, these setups have actual plants, naturalistic backgrounds, and special drainage. I’d look up “vivarium” on UA-cam. It’ll bring up video examples. Also, the channel SerpaDesign is very good at making these and other similar crafts. Bio active enclosures are very pretty in my opinion!
These enclosures are amazing. I’m an intern at the zoo in my city and we use these. They hold humidity like a dream and are super easy to clean. Every animal we have is housed in these enclosures, they come in quite a few sizes
OMG the snakes are so happy in their new cage! You guys take such good care of them! Also, you and Ed are perfect together! I can tell how much you guys love each other! Great vid!
So jealous. My DIY tank is still a mansion for my baby, he would be lost in such a big space. :D. Would love a video on DIY enclosures, a collab maybe?
I recently just showed my boyfriend this channel, and found out he loves snakes just as much as I do. We're planning on getting snakes someday in the future, and I REALLY want garters.
I so happy to see them get to one million. It’s been cool watching them gaining followers. I have been subscribed since I had less than 100,000 followers. So it’s been awesome.
Omg they are so cute! I love watching them! I can’t wait for them to have babies! I can only imagine how excited Emily will be when she’s a mom! I love how excited she gets when the snakes have babies!
Snakes naturally don’t need as much oxygen as other mammals but, I’m only guessing as it is a tank meant for reptiles, that there is multiple air vents throughout the enclosure
We have a garter snake in our yard right now and I thought about you Emily your channel is so educational I like that you teach a variety of things for people to know about
This is why I love you guys, you really give those snakes a good life unlike some other people who keep them in too small and empty enclosures (you pobably know who I'm talking abut)

Tips and tricks for cutting flat package zip ties: place cutters at halfway in. Not full way across. The pressure of the plastic will keep it from snapping but it's easy to make a small cut and start from there. If using a knife. An angle and a sawing motion gets you everywhere.
