Thanks! I am in the research mode for a BRB, and the videos are very helpful. One thing that I did for my BP that you could try to give your snek more climbing opportunities was to build him a climbing bar. So, what I did was get a compression fit clothing rod for a closet. I wrapped it in medium twine so DrJones could have some purchase to climb. It also made it look better. I used hot glue on the ends to hold it. Once the twine was in place, I then used fake plants/vines to wrap around the rod to make it look more like a "branch." DrJones loves it. He slithers up on one side of his enclosure, slithers along the "branch," hangs out for awhile, and then climbs back down. He loves it, and it looks really good. I was at the Zen Habitats website the other day and chatted with April for awhile. Thanks for videos. They are informative as well as entertaining.
Man I can't wait to get a BRB. They're so beautiful. Hopefully this year 🤞. Great job on the enclosure upgrade, it came out great!! Definitely eyeing those zen habitats for my future reptiles.
I just want to thank you. I saw Bowie a year ago and become obsessed you helped me prepare for my girl and I really appreciate your content. Thank you so much. My BRB is name Aurora.
What a great thing to wake up to 💕 I’m always so blown away by your enclosures. This video has me excited to see what you do with your other tropical species over time 😊💕
What a beautiful and shiny snake! I would love to have a rainbow boa as they are so stunning. I really liked what you did with the cold hide and I love the background! Great job!
How do you clean all the stuff that is now attached to the walls of the enclosure? I always wondered that about enclosures I've seen with the cool spray foam back drops. Do you have to use a toothbrush or does it seem that they don't really get dirty?
Perfect timing for this video! I recently got a Rainbow Boa, and am just looking to upgrade mine as well! I absolutely ADORE Bowie.....and she is the reason that i got a BRB. LOve your videos and your care tips/ etc. that you always offer!!
I would recommend the Honeywell Thermometer Hygrometer. Picked it up for a fair price and I have it set towards the back of Aziz Enclosure and provides pretty accurate readings
Love your new zen habitat wall! Looks so relaxing and natural ♥️ Thanks for sharing with us 🙏🏼 I really like the little care/name tags you have on the enclosure! Where do you get those?
What paint is safe to use for the background? Regular home paint would produce fumes especially in a humid warn space right? Any tips or direction on that would be great! Going to be setting my BRB up in a zen soon!
Beautiful, I would like to do some sliding door glass enclosures. You gave me some good ideas. Thumbs up!🐍 Could not help with throw the snake emoji on there.😄
Any ideas on how to raise the humidity in a 5 foot enclosure? I do the daily misting but it soon dries up. I have tried a fog system also but didnt have much luck
You should be able to! That can make it heavier though, so be careful with possible bowing if you use a lot of substrate. The weight limit for the 3.0 like is 75 pounds on the bottom panel.
Which drylok and cement poder dye do you use? Currently building one for one of our BRB and last time, did just silicone & background dry substrate mixture. Love how yours turned out ❤
How do you keep humidity up for the snake?? Mine is always falling no matter if I spray it? I think it’s because the top of my enclosure has a mesh and the aluminum foil doesn't cover it up very well
try using a fogger with any timer that allows it to go off multiple times throughout the day. this helps so that it’s not overly wet from spraying and cause mold, but keeps up humidity well
What age are they considered adults and you can lower the humidity from 90%? Been looking at care guides and they don't say when they will be okay with humidity around 70%.
How well does the heat mat do under that pvc? I have a zen 4x4x2 for my tegu which has overhead heating but I wanted to get one for my snake which I would kinda like to keep providing belly heat for. Just curious if it gets warm enough?
@@reptiliangarden they are great! On the app it shows you graphs of all your averages. You can also set up alerts if something goes too low or high for both temp and humidity. Not TOO expensive either. You can get 2 for like 20 bucks. On par with accurite brand ones but with way more functionality
I have a brb, corn, mbks, ball, and a boa. Would the zen habitats make good forever homes for all of them? I like how they all match. Also how are you keeping the humidity up? I have a zen for my bearded dragon and the top is a screen. Maybe I missed that part cause I was kinda skipping around. My brb is 2 feet? What age is that about?
I put shower rod through a cork tube and hung it about 10 inches off of the substrate and that is for sure my BRB’s favorite spot. Can confirm: rainbow boas like to get high.
Hi there! Thank you for your videos. We are new snake owners and new BRB owners. We are having a hard time with humidity. We spray several times per day. When we spray, the humidity does increase to the level recommended but within a short time the humidity drops. It was 25% this morning when I got up. We need to figure out if this is OK and how to get the humidity where it needs to be. Thanks for any help you can provide.
If you have a mesh lid, cover half - 3/4 with aluminum foil or plastic so the humidity stays better. Also a substrate that holds moisture will help too.
Usually it takes 1 day to ship and 5-7 days to deliver. Right now a ton of the items are on backorder though, so there’s is a bit of a wait for certain items until the shipments come in.
The govee hydrometer/temperature is connected to Bluetooth and has an app...I hear all about them but have not tried one yet :) again i love all your videos! I just called my hardware store for drylok thanks for the tips....
How consistent & reliable is Bowie's enclosure at holding humidity? Does the enclosure have a mesh lid? I live in a dry state & haven't owned a BRB due to the humidity levels required, but if these enclosures hold humidity really well, I'd love to actually get a BRB!
These enclosures are fantastic with humidity! Just make sure to use PVC. And it comes with a humidity shield to place on top of the screen lid! Highly recommend.
I just got a zen habitats for my ball python, we are in the process of setting it up right now actually. I was wondering , when I go on zen habitats website I can’t find the lock for the doors that you showed in the video. Is there any way to order them soon?
If it didn’t come with your enclosure, you can email support@zenhabitats.com and tell them your order number and ask for the door wrap and door lock. They can send it out free of charge
For a hygrometer I highly suggest the ThermoPro TP50 Digital Hygrometer now I know it's expensive but it's so worth it it only needs 1 double AA battery and last so long it seems to measure really accurately only thing is you need to put the whole thing in but it's not that bad
okay so i’m getting a BRB soon and for the enclosure i planned on having a drainage layer and about 2 inches of substrate. would i be better off using a heat pad or a heat panel?
Love your enclosures! I was wondering if you have any recommendations for first time BRB owners and what types of enclosures you’d recommend(size, brand, bioactive, etc..)? I am planning on getting a juvenile BRB but want to set up an enclosure and make sure heat and humidity are working well and plants are rooted before I even bring the snake home. Also, I have smart humidifiers in my house (I set % humidity and heat and it adjusts automatically) is this something people use in snake enclosures or do they just check the hygrometer and mist accordingly?
If you need to wipe down the back, you can if you use drylok. For textured backgrounds with dirt, you can’t really scrub or clean it. The animals don’t make the backgrounds dirty though, so it’s usually not a concern.
I’m really interest in getting a Brazilian rainbow boa. Is there anyway you would be interested in chatting with me so I could get as much information about them as possible?
This is gorgeous!! I use an AcuRite digital Hygrometer which is like $12 on Amazon. They tend to be accurate and measure temps and humidity in large, digital numerals so it's easy to see at a glance. I use one on each side of my enclosure since they're cheap, and it helps me get a sense of the temp and humidity range. No adhesive, but they do have a clip so you could probably rig them up to stay still. My big BP is passionate about dragging his into his water dish :) I'm sure you can find higher quality ones, but these are a good cheap digital option IMO.
I know it’s a little different, but I would LOVE a plant/house tour! Your living room is so cute (:
Thank you! I will do this eventually. Only issue is I don’t know the names of all my plants 😂
@@reptiliangardenyou can give them names, like John

How do you get it up to temperature with just one heat mat?
I've got 4x2x2 wooden viv and it's nearly time to move her into it. Should I be worried about humidity and the wood softening and bending?

You can also freeze it for 24 hours in a freezer. Or you can bake it around 250 for 45 minutes but keep an eye on it
