- Hey y'all! Today's video is SUPINE YOGA FOR BED BOUND YOGIS WITH LIMITED MOBILITY. I was inspired to create this video from a book I read entitled, "Recovery Yoga: A Practical Guide for Chronically Ill, Injured, and Post-Operative People". This book could be very useful for someone who is in any of these situations and wants to get into yoga. Make sure you consult your doctor to be sure this is a good idea for you. In this video, I'm doing very simple movements using the arms and legs, as well as a significant portion where we are just practicing Pranayama or breathing. I'm sure everyone's mobility is different and some things that are "easy" for some, may be "hard" for others. So, just do what you can and don't feel pressured to do anything that doesn't feel good. If at any time you feel pain, stop. Even if you can only do the Pranayama, just visualize yourself doing the movements. That is plenty if it is all your body will allow. The book I listed earlier goes much more in-depth on different exercises and breathing you can do, so it's worth a look if you're interested. Thank you for posting this video. I am recovering from a hip injury and this workout was just right. It’s humbling to go from full mobility to being stuck in bed. I’m not able to lift one of my legs and I’m glad you gave the prompt to visualize the movement. I was able to complete the entire video while being kind to where my body is in this moment. Nice. I've given some special-needs yoga classes. A friend with a hospital in Haiti asked me to make her a video for Cancer patients. Well, bed yoga is kinda new for me so I've been looking at everything I can find on UA-cam for inspiration. The simplicity and meditative quality of your session here is very nice.
