despite being a "non-scary" human form, there's something about him thats so vaguely unsettling, and i love it
For me it's that overly wide smile. That sort of strained look of I must be happy.

@@clourenskidmore9190 all of his sculpts have four fingers though and so do a lot of kid cartoons so that doesn't really affect me much

For me its the wide smile with small, crazed eyes that make me unsettled
He feels like the type of guy (before his decent into madness) who would write down all the regular kid’s favourites in a notebook he keeps so he can make the kids feel special by saying “I’m guessing you want the regular?”

Honestly, I can definitely see him being someone who loved/loves kids just thanks to his former job as an ice cream man

@@ghostix. okay, but imagination if one day when he went to clean up a body, and it was one of the children he used to sell ice cream to? Imagine how angry he would feal if this were true! Do you think he would leave temporarily regain control? Just leave the body and hunt the murderer down? Just a thought :)
My theory is that the sudden death of his father impacted him far more than he thought, so he threw himself into his work as a coping mechanism that turned into a downward spiral.
When you’re so used to Ace making disturbing, creepy creatures that his normal looking human sculptures are scary

I think it would be so interesting to see the photographer, like maybe when he was younger, with all of his family before he took a photo and they all got taken away from him

As a Young Child, he had suffered from a Spilt-Personality Disorder, one so sever, that he struggled to remember which side of him was really the true “Him”. Occasionally, while in a deranged version of himself, he would murder people, then sculpt them as a way to say sorry afterwards. More on him later. - “R”.

There used to be a guy who drives around our neighborhood playing ice cream music on his car we'd always try to find where the music was coming from because we wanted ice cream turns out it was just some dude in his fancy car that can play music, i was sad cus ive never had ice cream from an ice cream truck, also he made his car moo at us...

I love his origin story so much!! It’s such an epic concept on how he slowly transforms more like an entity himself rather than just suddenly turning into some monster. I also love the reasoning - him changing due to obsession. It’s amazing aaaa!!

I would be interested in hearing you tell a story while sculpting, maybe specific incidents that the mutants are in. Like a true crime! Possibly mutants crossing paths? I can tell you would be good at storytelling.

Random Idea for the Farmer! What if he used to have a wife that got killed during an accident with cattle or barn machinery? You said The Farmer appears to victims as their favorite person or someone attractive to them, what if it works the same for him? They appear to him as his late wife, after some time reality catches up and he realizes they are not her and decide to dispose of them. Just an idea I randomly thought of! Loving the Ice Cream man's story though!

Turning a monster back into a guy is such an interesting idea to me- I feel like it's way easier to distort human features into something monstrous than it is to retrace something scary back to being human. I'm a huge fan of the style as well!! There's something so charmingly caricature-ish about the way you play with proportions that's really fun
It reminds me a little bit of the scene in Coraline where the Other Father has been cast aside by the Other Mother and has started to warp and fall apart, but your style is so distinct from Studio Laika. It's really fun!!

I like this guy! He is a character but just in an animated style, not creepy at all! It is easy to see how he became the ice cream man and you portrayed it perfectly! Great story telling too! I will put in another “plug” for classic monster creatures and mythical creatures too. I believe that you can create wonderful adaptations of any classic monster/mythological creature, so I await your video(s) on those subjects. Thank you for sharing your art and expertise with us. Theory: in this universe, you become a mutant if you have very VERY strong feelings/emotions towards something. The ice-cream man is obsessed with his ice-cream truck. The photographer was probably obsessed with taking pictures. The farmer is obsessed with his crops. The seamstress is obsessed with sewing. The mother was overly obsessed with her children, ect.
So I would become a mutant when I was like 5 because of an obsession I got on this game called LittleBigPlanet this also means people with autism like me are more likely to become mutants

I have pieced together the Ice Cream Man’s backstory for myself. Hope you enjoy!
The Ice Cream man was born Albert Cleft, a relaxed and collected young man. Spending most of his time with his late Father, Albert Guinness, Albert grew a fascination with the Ice Cream Business as his Father would have wanted. Despite being a truly sad occasion, Guinness’ death gave Albert room to spread his career free from the strict and watchful eye of his Father. In doing so, Albert received lots of money allowing him to spread his business even more. Due to his business being the largest in town, Albert was adored by loyal fans. Due to this love never shared by his parents, Albert’s career soon became a twisted obsession. Albert now strived for perfection with every customer. If an ice cream cone wasn’t perfect and symmetrical, he would throw it away and make another one. He may have been gravely overworked, but his business had blinded him. He was so invested in the love of his customers turned “friends” that he didn’t have time to socialize or find love. This mentally unhealthy lifestyle lead him to sell his own house so he could live in his Ice Cream truck so he would be closer to the “reality “he felt the most comfortable in. Over many gruelling years, Albert’s depressing condition worsened and started to be noticed by his customers due to his unnatural symptoms. Two of these major symptoms were the fact that he wasn’t eating nor sleeping. But the worst symptom of all was the fact that he was practically a zombie. Albert was slowly losing his mind. From this point forward, Albert’s story became shrouded in mystery and speculation. The only most known thing after Albert’s twisted transformation changed one day into something that no one could explain. Every night, he was visited by an entity who offered him enteral life and the ability to make his business perfect for the rest of time. Albert obviously took the offer and was changed forever. Soon after the last encounter of the entity, Albert’s ice cream ran out and left Albert confused and ill that he no longer had his own free will.
I thought of a cool clay creation you could do. It's Pac-Man but give him a mouth with the sharp teeth and maybe a tongue. You may even be able to do the ghost too since the creations would be simple enough.
Like my favorite artist of the NerdForge once said: Make stuff with stories.

His back story is so sad, but over all he would be a hard boss to defeat because he can be in multiple places at different times. Over all I like him a lot.
This is magnificent, as always. I recommend you do some other backstories, like the photographer and the seamstress, then either make your protagonist, a new mutant, or the creator of them, who I would say should look very human, like the Lady and the Thin Man
