Jesus Christ loves you ❤️
Let’s gooo fam, MCR all day
You gotta react to seether again. The last one u listened to was a cover
Can you react to die in california by Machine gun kelly, Landon Barker featuring Young Thug and Gunna? It's also rock.
You should do you don’t get me high anymore by three days grace
From Gerard, the lead singer:
"It's a commentary on kids being viewed as meat; by the government and by society. That's how I felt in school, and after 9/11 happened that's how I felt in general. It's very important that this song is here because I always viewed this as about these kids in the parade who had killed themselves, who had made a big mistake. It's a very powerful song."
thank you for positing this
What interview is this from?
You know what's even cooler, he also said it was a reflection on him growing and being scared as shit of teenagers. Why I love this song is because when I was 16 I was the teenager, now I'm in my thirties, I'm the person who's freaked out by them.
I was going to comment something to this effect. I grew up as a teenager in post 9/11. Not a kid but not grown either. We started to see how ugly the world really was. And my god the pressure to fit in with what society thought. Most teenagers of the time started to ask the real questions. Older people chucked the questioning youth into the category of defiant and dangerous. So shit like "They could care less as long as someone will bleed." To me was a stereotypical thing the older generation would say to us. They didn't care that we had real thoughts. They just wanted cogs for the murder machine. (Ie everyone to fall in line. It always gave me cold war- is your neighbor anti American because their teenager asks questions- vibes.) Maybe it was growing up in a small Midwestern town at the time. Small towns are weird.
Thank you. People always think the song is about the kids when it's about the parents.
16 years since Black Parade was released and I'm still amazed at Toro's guitar skills. There's a reason they referred to him as The Mad Scientist. Dude can get it.
and The Man with The Plan
Black parade is a timeless album.
we stan Ray
@@melynn_0355 ‼‼
Toro is the man
This entire album (The Black Parade) is considered the golden standard of Emo/Rock music. Its fantastic from start to finish and has a narrative all the way through all based around death.
in love and death is a better standard of emo tbh
@@Jockuptown umm... as much as I love the used... 3 cheers was THE album of emo for me.
famous last words is a masterpiece.
Another song that you might possibly like by my chemical romance would be "Ghost of you" it's great
I second this, same band and completely different sound
I think he only does requests from patreon
@@joaoferreira6626 yeah that’s true but I still agree lol
He should just listen to Three Cheers and Black Parade from start to finish
My fav mcr song easily
I would LOOOOOOOVE to see more My Chemical Romance reactions
You should do Famous Last Words by them. That one might blow you up, and it has a better message. Although this one too, the video ends up with a message against violence
That is my favorite MCR song!
I think a fun one from MCR is Mama. Especially with the highs and lows in the song, he'd probably have a great reaction to those. Yeah, songs like Famous Last Words and Ghost of You are really popular and amazing in their own rights, but it's the ones that didn't get MTV or radio plays that really shine from MCR. I've been listening to them since Bullets and honestly, that's one of their greatest albums in my opinion. Can't wait for their show in October this year. It's gonna be fucking awesome.
the band famous last words is also rly good
@@tacomastoned420 hell yeah definitely agree! cant wait to see em next month
The reason MCR lasted years after they left, was because they were REAL. Everything they wrote about was not hiding from what was real and how people really felt.
"This is bringing me to a movie" I think that's why I love My Chemical Romance so much! Very cinematic. Even when you didn't have a music video to paint a picture, you could easily find one in your head.
The entire Black Parade album is a movie that you can make up in your own head
As someone that grew up on these guys, this song has always been about how the older generations demonize the youth.
Pushing medications instead of talking thru and educating, how the next generation is always the “worst”.
It’s got an easy to chant vibe because “what you’ve got under your shirt will make them pay for the things that they did” speaks to having lungs, a voice and the heart to get thru it all.
@@lewienew yup, but this guy interpreted differently and that's cool too.
I thought the story was he wrote this song on a train or something and a bunch of teenagers were scaring the hell out of him or like stressing him. He started having a panic attack. I forgot exactly
And now im saying how the next generation is fucked. We have gone full circle
@@aMotionless see it may be just because of the way I was introduced to this song, but I thought that part of the song was about bullying and "what you got under your shirt" was just saying your abs or muscles, like we're gonna beat them up. Also "strike a violent pose" I heard "strike a (vi something) post" like he was hitting a stop sign or some other post because I didn't know wtf vi word he said
@@romelo6086 Honestly thats a pretty understandable interpretation. And just because an artist had one way if interpreting their own work doesn't mean we can't get something different out of it. I alway found the best songs had many form of interpretation, and mcr has a bunch of those haha. I also think it's more fun to talk about we all interpret the same song. For me when I was younger I always felt it was a song about bullying and the angst it can give the victims, and the desire to get revenge on their bullies, but also how adults can contribute to these feeling by dismissing teenage problems as simply rebellion or something, and them being afraid of them because teens cam sometimes act out of anger or for simply violence sake. And it was come of too me like the song was in the perspective of an adult. But I guess most can say the same on that.
Gerard Way is an amazing lyricist! Created the umbrella academy comic book, which the shows based off.
*This song was made long ago, way before the current gen situations that go down, eerie how it is way more relevant today.
I had no fkin idea
Whaaat, you just blew my mind
It feels good to finally find someone review music and actually speak with confidence and intelligence, instead of just saying it’s trash cause it ain’t their preferred genre, great video man!
If you want another one from this album, 'Sleep' hits different.
Oh yeah definitely, in the story I am writing I visualized the antagonist hunched over on the ground screaming the lyrics as everyone around him falls to the ground for an eternal sleep as his voice shakes the air.
@@inali_illustrates9142 For me, it was definitely the mindset that I was in when I attempted su*c*de.
@@nairsheasterling9457 oh damn, how are you doing now?
@@inali_illustrates9142 Worlds better mentally!
@@nairsheasterling9457 Thats great! I am glad you are still here with us :)
" the best revenge is success." Words to live by.
Man, I just love your vibe. You're so intelligent, so articulate, so caring, so sensitive to the needs of others. You've honestly taught me a lot over the years I've watched you about what it is to be a person. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you. I'd fucking love to get to meet you some day.
Not my favorite song from them but so happy you got around to reacting to MCR!! I remember seeing them way back in 02 or 03 at a super small venue in NJ when I was in college and then to see them blow up was amazing! Saw them again at The Terminal NYC to a sold out venue...I thought the balcony was going to fall.
Very surprised you heard about this one. One of my other favorite songs by My Chemical Romance is Mama. 😁
We all go to hell... it's really quite pleasant except for the smelll.
I don’t know if this song has been suggested but a great song from my teenage years “FACE DOWN - RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS”
Such an important message and a great track
Man I love your rock reactions, I saw this title and got so hype!!!
Haven’t stopped by in a minute. That new background view is killer 💙
Let’s gooooo MCR
Damn this brings me back to highschool. MCR was a daily play for sure.
Bro, thanks for bringing this song back for me... This was what I rocked while I was traveling the world as an Air Force loadmaster, mostly in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan
I truly enjoy this one man thank you! Much love, my top favorite reactor.
Hands down the best reaction channel around!! Love the positivity and having an open mind to other genres of music you might not have been aware of or into. LayedBakDFR has at least one fan in Salt Lake. SLC to ATL!!
At least 2 Fans in SLC :p
surprised you havent heard this one yet! definitely in their top 5, alone with classics like WTTBP, Helena, and I'm Not Okay. Keep up the good work!
it’s always interesting to me that peoples all time favorite songs by them are only the singles, not hating, they seriously since 2004 have been my favorite band of all time, I just wish Fashion Statement, Sleep, or any of the bullets albums would get more love, also amazing ones are Destroya and Scarecrow
@@straylightrun53 All of those need more love. I've been obsessed with MCR for about 3 years, and every single piece of their music is amazing. They don't have a single bad song, and I think more people need to be aware of their underrated songs.. Like Heaven Help Us, Desert Song, Hang 'Em High, and even Bury me in Black.
@@concrete_taco Zero Percent is definitely a hidden gem of theirs as well
This song and I'm Not Okay are like my 2 least fav MCR songs lol. To each their own. I don't think they are bad songs I just don't get anything out of them.
@@justinman114 probably my least favorite song is either bury me in black or cubicles
Aye.....my favorite MCR song. Love your channel man, been riding with you about 2 years now. The journey has been great.
This song comes from The Black Parade which was a concept album that follows The Patient who had been to war and done things he regretted. This song is him looking back on his childhood and realizing he was always being pushed to shut up, conform, and obey. He was always being pushed (or programmed) towards where he ended up in the military.
What is really outstanding about MCR is that the songs put out to promote them are actually not the best ones. This one and few more "most viewed" is the moneymakers. There's so much more and I'll hope you keep going. Hugs from Sweden.
Agreed. They dont miss.
My chemical romance was my
First ever concert!! Love them.. glad you did it
Love The reactions man!!!
Love the this “pink look good” hell yeah for the positivity
this song is rly fun to dance around to lol! I also recommend Mama from the same album, it's a super cool track
please more my chemical romance, one of Goated bands Like for real.
What’s up? Layed bak this is my favorite band! Thanks bro 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Just joined your patreon and listed my first two requests! I hope you like them.
The biker bar music style you were asking about is called Honky Tonk.
Excited for this reaction💯
You should do a drum and bass series I'd love to see it. Really big over here in the UK
This album literally saved my life. I have it tattooed on me
I absolutely enjoy watching your reactions
Yo also, real talk, thank you @LayedBakDFR! You’re always positive, and always reminding me how to push through. I appreciate you. Thank you for teaching me how to appreciate myself. I wish you nothing but success, happiness, truth, liberty, and always the pursuit of happiness. Thank you my brother of this world.
Things were different then, but it's got more feeling and truth now
please do more Beatbox reaction Layed, miss those so much.
Gotta play their recent drop, foundations of decay
I love your message even if the song means something really different to the fans and the band. Seriously... your care and compassion and worry was amazing for this.
I get it, though. It's a heavy song with lyrics meant to bring out strong emotions. and you took it and promoted mental health. A+ human-ing, thank you
it's been a min since I checked out my boy layed. love this song a classic emo anthem.
I suggest travie mccoy-the bridge or I'll never be loved. ps. you looking fresh af and the pink looks dope.
A pool hall, ha! Man pool halls are a great time, lotta great laughs
I love this mans positivity ❤️
This popped up for me, and upon watching.... instant subscribe.
I really like how open minded you are man! Please do more My Chemical Romance! ❤
No idea how long I've been waiting for this reaction
Love the videos man keep up the work! Also you should react to Pete & Bas - Mr Worldwide. It would shock you I promise that.
the video for this song there is a message at the end where they say if you are thinking about acting out telling people to get help
there's actually a notice at the end of the music video that speaks out against violence amongst youth
Ayy Teenagers I've been waiting for this one
It would be cool to see you do this again and actually react to the video, it makes the song that much better
Another reaction to my favorite band of all time. Finally 🤘
Another reason Ray Toro is my favorite guitarist, its very punk rock with hints of country twang, it goes together so damn good
im always bumping my head with him
You’re thinking right about what the song means. Glad you liked it! It grows on you. My rating is 8/10.
Hey man, been a while since I've seen your videos like the fresh look! I know it's not mew to you but it is to me😂
I took it as bullying can lead to lashing out when enough becomes too much. High school was all about fitting in , standing out from popularity, and marginalizing those that were not the "norm." If you feel you need to seek revenge, by all means, talk to someone, get help, get counseling, get away from those who you feel oppressed by. Those years are emotional and you will get past them, but dont hold it in and let it fester til you have to do something extreme.
The pink does look good ❤️
I'm not ok is another amazing song from them
😆🥰 I Love it when people discover MCR and become lovers of their music. 🤘🏼😝👏🏼
I like a lot of My Chemical Romance songs especially this one and they’re a good band
To quote Gerard way:
Lead singer Gerard Way (from Kerrang! magazine, November 2006): "It's a commentary on kids being viewed as meat; by the government and by society. That's how I felt in school, and after 9/11 happened that's how I felt in general. It's very important that this song is here because I always viewed this as about these kids in the parade who had killed themselves, who had made a big mistake. It's a very powerful song."
so glad people are posting these, cuz unless you were around then or paying attention, they wouldn’t know stuff like this
🤘🤘🤘
I can’t remember if you’ve reacted to Welcome To The Black Parade by them as well. If not, definitely one you need to check out
He did. Just look it up and you'll find it. I believe he actually liked it from what I remember
@@nathanluna6522 He loved it
Listen to: Thank you for the venom or helena by My Chemical Romance!
Banger of a song
Hey, when will you react to the loopstations and solo battles from GBB?
Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance is my favorite!
You should react to cute without the e (cut from the team) Taking Back Sunday. One of my favorites
between the two mainstream songs on this album by MCR. Teenagers gives us a auditory view on how society views the activities that teens did back in the 1990-early 2000. while dealing with major tropes like "dream" crushing voiced opinions, how cliques are more hurtful than they seem in school than they are helpful, and how we are expected to be carbon copies of one another and just fall into line like the ideal citizen.
while the other song which I hope you do a reaction to down the line is " Welcome to the Black Parade" has a similar message structure to Metallica's Master of Puppets
the somber and sad tone behind black parades theme of death being personified in every instrumental piece and the struggle to deal with death throughout the entire song from the very beginning note and lyrical line is just another reason to react to it.
that being said this entire album is a interconnected rock opera and it might be worth just doing a longer reaction to each song or make it a playlist because it is about young man called "the patient" and it goes through the cycle of life, death, and afterlife. whilst each song can still be individually enjoyed it is all connected in 1 album and that is something to enjoy about MCR's Black Parade.
If you take recommendations from the comment section, two rock songs that I LOVE are 5 years and star man by David Bowie. All time classics. Really interesting songs, nothing like them.
For real man the whole album is a full on story it's a great listen and is always playing in my car
I'm a big fan of My Chem, and I do like this song, but I agree that it doesn't blow me away either.
Great video man. I'd love to see you react to "Jet Fuel" by Mac miller; it's been a minute since the Fire Squad has seen him
Tauren Wells “undefeated” featuring KB. KB also has a song called undefeated that you have reacted to. This is a different song
It would be cool if you reacted to Venus Fly Trap by Brakence. He does Hyperpop similar to Glaive but he has his own distinct sound. His voice is legendary too, he does minimal voice editing in his songs because his voice fits so well with his type of music.
Lol you must have been reading my mind, I was also thinking the pink shirt looked good on you.
gotta listen to Ghost of you - my chemical romance. That one hits different.
Not sure if you've heard it, but Famous Last Words is my favorite song by them. It's pretty rocking 🤟
Please do Famous Last Words! You'll be blown away trust me!
I agree that pink look good
Here’s an unknown song but you’ll definitely find it interesting and probably like it but it’s kind of dark, it’s called sunsets over monroville by my chemical romance
Hey is that pink shirt one of the shirts you sell? I really love that color and want to get one lol
Edit: never mind I just found it. I’m assuming it’s the cotton pink one. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong anyone.
Wherever I may roam
For your next rock reaction you should do September's Childre by Rise Against.. Amazing song with a fantastic message 🙏
i would definitely love to see your reaction to shogun by trivium, great reactions ❤️
singer Gerard Way, wrote The Umbrella Academy
You should do you don’t get me high anymore by three days grace
I just stumbled on your channel but I am a fan of My Chemical Romance.
This song was the MCR song that made a fan. Being a teen at the time when it came out I thought it was just a straight up anthem for us teens. It took repeated listens to work out that there was more to it than that.
This is still a teen anthem in my opinion, but it's also a critique of the mentality from those who are older who seem to expect that teens will become violent just because they are teens. The offical video makes it clear that the song is supposed to be anti-violence because at the end it says "Violence is NEVER the answer. If you feel like acting out, REACH OUT".
You need to do Planetary GO! ... It's more hype and high tempo definitely more your style I reckon!!!
Please do Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance
A great song for you would be either out of the black by royal blood or figure it out by royal blood.
ayee yessir good song right here
The Ghost of You, Welcome to the Black Parade or Mama is what I would have suggested.
Yo I would really love to see you react to “Fake Fine” by Robert Grace. I love your content and keep up the good work!
