"This is so metal" is an expression kids use these days. It like saying "This is so awesome" 🤣
Eilish. I listen to all sorts of classic rock bands. MCR is nothing metal. Metal is cultures like those of Megadeth,Anthrax,Slayer, Metallica(The big four), Pantera, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead.
Examples of what metal is like:
Headbanging
Long hair
The first 3 Metallica albums
Sick Breakdowns
Epic riffs
Some Alcohol and drugs
Long impressive solos
Distorted guitar
FOOOOOOKIIIIINGGGG SLAYYEERRRRRR
He FOCKIN LEFT The BAND
Satanic panic
Moshing
Some Screaming
Examples of what MCR is:
Emo
@@centiments11 sorry to break it to you but their style of music is emo which is a sub-genre of pop punk. So even if you don't want to call them emo they are still pop punk. Regardless they are far from a metal band
I think I reached my point when I heard that g note
I never said I'd lie and wait forever.
G spot of emo
Fun fact: Bob Bryar sustained 3rd degree burns in the video for "Famous Last Words". So, yes the band was on fire. At least Bob was. It got infected too. Another fun fact, MCR has been around for 20 years and the original drummer was Matt Pelisser. He was kicked out of the band for alcoholism and at the time Gerard had an addiction to alcohol as well. He got clean around the time he released Welcome to the Black Parade. Got married in like 2007, to Lyn-Z from Mindless Self Indulgence and they have a little girl named Bandit. She's like 11 or 12 now.
MCR canceled their 2020 tour because of COVID19 though. I believe they had 2 shows one in Japan and Cali before the world fell apart.
They're still planning on having an American tour, it's just been delayed twice because COVID
I remember walking into my local Hot Topic around the time their tour was announced and the place was *packed* everybody was buying out any and all MCR merch they could it was insane

5:37 "I think I just got a crush just now"
Yeah girl, we all did
MCR completely changed my life. I still listen to them from time to time. Same with The Used. Even though many of us grew up with them in our teens or preteens, for me it was teens, and I'm in my 30s I think it's normal to still love and listen to music that influenced you in your teens and early 20s. I mean my dad for example still listens to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc. My mom actually really likes MCR and then music like the B52s, Lady Gaga, Madonna etc. She has always liked pop more than rock where as my dad is more into rock and I gravitated towards my dad's music tastes. I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd still because that is my dad's all-time favorite band and I grew up on it. I asked him how old he was when he found pink floyd and he was 15. Same age I found MCR. So when people give me shit for still listening to MCR I don't care, it's normal to listen to the music you grew up listening to. The only recent younger musician I've found that I like is Conan Gray but they even kind of have that sound of early emo like American Football, Sunny Day Real Estate etc. I liked that music along with pop punk like The All American Rejects, Linkin Park, The Offspring, The Starting Line, Sum 41 as a preteen and then continued listening to them as a preteen until I found MCR, The Used, 30 Seconds to Mars, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, We the Kings, Chiodos, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Dashboard Confessional, Story of the Year, All Time Low, From First to Last, AFI, etc. Then those bands are what I listened to in my mid/late teens and early 20s.
If those were college kids most were probably 18-26 and now they'd be 22-30 so it makes sense they wouldn't be as all about MCR because they would have been preteens during the peak of when emo/scene music was popular which you're less likely as an adult to listen to what you liked as a preteen vs a teenager/early 20s into your adulthood. So how my dad gets excited about Pink Floyd is how I am about emo music even in my 30s.
im 15 and i was born the same day one of the albums was released (the black parade released: 10/23/06) and im a huge mcr fan lmao
@@kai_alex i was just making a general statement about how some people my age, including myself, will get shit from people for listening to emo pop punk bands like my chem, the used etc.
I am super happy that you're young and love my generation's music. Whenever I see a teenager that is emo I always have this urge to go over to them and praise them for keeping the style and music alive and I have the urge to show them my old emo pics with the emo/scene hair, eye liner, tight band T's, studded belt and tight jeans with the checkered vans. I was, funny enough, one of those emo/scene people where my pics were stolen all the time and was Myspace famous hahaha so ridiculous looking back on it. But obviously if I did that I would come off as a complete psycho. So I usually just compliment their band T or hoodie/hair etc. Or I'll start playing Helena or something in my car and blast it and I love seeing them light up and wave or do the |m|. It's like being part of some club. We all get it. But I am super happy you love MCR. Just like how I love Pink Floyd and when I bring up more obscure albums or songs by Pink Floyd that I love to a baby boomer I often see their eyes light up and I know they feel in that moment how I feel when I see a teen dressed emo or listening to one of my favorite bands that was popular from my time.
Hell recently this kid who had to be only 14 or 15 was listening to The Starting Line's song "Best of Me" on him headphones and I could hear it and I about lost it it made me so fucking happy. I waved to him and I started singing the lyrics with him** and we both sang the song together and people were staring and we didn't give a shit. Just like how at the end of the movie "The House of Wax" with Paris Hilton, during the credits they play Helena and me and my friends saw the movie in theaters and the moment we heard "long ago" me and my 5 friends screamed and jumped up and down and sang our hearts out to the song and the majority of the people just left and probably thought we were insane but literally half way through us singing it this other group of girls started singing along and some older people just watched us super amused and clapped when we were done and then they asked if we were in a band because we all looked emo so they assumed we were in a band 🤣🤣🤣 good times.
If you can try to spread MCR to as many people of your generation as you can. Always start with "Welcome to the Black Parade." Never fails. That song always hooks people if they genuinely listen. Then you have them hooked and can show them more music. It's the Rawring 20s xD. Unfortunately though just based on history, emo music will never be popular again like how it was in the 2000s and early to mid 2010s. Just like how Led Zeppelin and other classic rock bands will never be popular like how they were in the late 60s and 70s. But the fact any young person still listens to the music it will keep it immortalized forever. I hope when I'm 80 there will still be at least one teenager out there listening to MCR still and it moving them. 🖤
TLDR: that makes me super happy! Keep emo and MCR alive in your generation :)
Holy f*** bro how long did this take you to write
@@kai_alex That's my favorite song out of all of them lol
