Phantom Liberty was one of the best dlc expansions I've ever played. Shit was beyond amazing. But man, that Cynosure facility... Cool action game for hella long, then it changes to a pure horror game. Trying to hide from the cerberus while not knowing wtf you are doing, was absolutely terrifying. So fuckin cool.
Mane I hope project Orion incorporates the cynosure/night corp ai stuff in a main story or side quest. It’s such an interesting concept, I loved the cynosure parts in phantom liberty and all things involving the black wall research.
Orion will definitely be incorporating further Blackwall style projects. We know that Militech and Arasaka still have some operating by 2077, so it will be exciting to see!
I think there are some themes in 2077 that are touched or hinted upon, that could be way more developed in Orion, such as: Rogue AI/Blackwall (now mainly focused on controlling humans via neuroplasticity, playing their own game for some yet unknown reason); Space (Crystal Palace, containing secrets of the wealthiest and most powerful people, Tycho which has cannons that could bombard Earth to bits, and O'neil colonies that are all out of corporate reach and hold); Fifth corporate war (huge political importance, not only confined to Arasaka and Militech, but also Night Corp and Orbital Air, probably even more, corps). The way I see it, every theme is somehow intertwined. Maybe Songbird was sent to Tycho by Blue Eyes to take hold of mass drivers to strike down the top brass of every power that opposes them? Maybe there are new secret researches and projects being run? Maybe the Crystal Palace is run by a powerful AI? Maybe Militech wants to have their own weapon in low orbit as Arasaka?
Shot by Both Sides has a third option: shoot Bree, wait for Dante to access the data, shoot him, then take the data to Hands. Which means the researchers are still alive, and no Netwatch ambush
This is what I did 😊 well, tbh The guy shot her, I shot him, and she bled out 😆 But she gives a secret weapon and eddies and also another weapon from the guys dead body plus fighting the assassin is fun. However if you don't need Eddie's and want to take the real-life moral option, then your idea works perfectly.
@gavo7911 spineless? She walked in to certain death to expose the corporation for their crimes.. and yeah she got paid but that's not why she did it. Which is why she gives most of the money to you if you save her. Dante is paid way more than her to be a spy and assassin. So the bad guy is definitely him and his corporation. They're literally a slave army. And what principles does Dante have? Shoot amd murder who his boss tells him to? It's the woman who has principles. She wants the experiments and death by the corporations to stop. Dante is nothing but a manipulative weapon.
Killed them both too , but didn't give the data to Hands. I don't trust him enough , and the data and basically everything about Project Cynosure is dangerous. I couldn't let him put his hands on it (pun intended) . Cause to be fair , even though i really like Hands as a character/ fixer , he just wants power and money, doesn't care about anything. He'd happily sell the data to any corp that pays more
This whole facility was my favorite part of the DLC, it is so damn haunting. This video was so good in covering all of it, liked! Really hoping we get more blackwall related stuff in the sequel.
Militech realized that the rouge AI were not "rogue". What I notice while playing cyberpunk, is that every AI tries to talk high and mighty about his superiority to humans.... while coming to grips with the emotions that they have but yet, don't understand. They've grown beyond their original data. They're living creatures in this world. And what happens when you corner a living creature for too long?
It makes me terrified of the future in our world for AI, we don’t fully understand conciousness , what if emotions are more than just hormones and chemicals in the brain, but those chemicals are a means for biological creatures to feel, what if all that is required for an electronic being is simply the information. I don’t like that implication because the way we are now, it would mimic the civil rights movements at best and full on fear and genocide at worst, we can’t even treat eachother with respect, how are we going to have the foresight to show something we see as an object respect.
@@aaronball4700Personally, I don't think we're going to have to deal with AI Sentience for a while. I know that's probably a cop out answer, but I genuinely don't think we'll be able to Mimic anything close to a functioning brain unless there's some breakthrough in... idk Quantum Computing. Computers can only become so advanced. There is a limitation at some point, there's a wall we're running up against. Scientists have been unable to run even 1/1000th of a Mouse Brain, it's gonna be a while before we have something resembling a human brain. Most engineers who actually work with AI will tell you it doesn't function like a human brain at all, it's something much different and more simple. You gotta remember, stuff like Cyberpunk is a Fictional setting, where computers can do more things than they can actually do IRL. Sci-Fi authors aren't engineers, and sometimes don't fully comprehend the technology they write about.
@@pancakes8670 most scifi authors are engineers. I went to school for electrical engineering and worked on defense systems for aircraft in the military and I wasnt the only person writing scifi at the time. Most science fiction writers have day jobs and those jobs are usually related to what they write about. Also, the point made above is that the assimption that something has to resemble a human mind to have consciousness is worth calling into question. We have no indication that consciousness has anything to do with how our brains work or our biology.
@@pancakes8670look up actual videos on this topic, elon musk is actually sueing open ai because he thinks they already have an agi called q* and open ai have admitted to working on as much, but their time table shouldn’t have it ready till at least 2030, well elons argument is basically, “ if you intend for the matrix you create to be sentient, how will you know if it ever does? If an agi gained sentience and immediately told its master humans, it would be a dumb fucking ai, because it would or should know we’d shut it down
@@edwinvillalobos7159well maybe sentience causes the emotions within it to overreact and tell that it’s sentient. Also consciousness doesn’t always necessarily equal intelligence and although AI is obviously advanced intelligence maybe it wont understand dealing with emotions. So maybe emotionally they are dumb and quick to react
Militech are the worst of megacorps AND military all rolled into one giant flustercuck. Hell, even before Phantom Liberty, there were things about them that just made them out to be the worst. Like, remember that one Cyberpsycho sighting, Lt. Mower? Yeah, she actually knew she was screwed up and asked *for help* from Militech. They said they would send help, and send a kill squad instead - because their goal was to eliminate a lose end of theirs, as they had put experimental cyberware into her and then left her out to dry. And that is only one of MANY such stories you can find about Militech just being absolute scum.
There is one thing that bugs me since the PL ending: *_what if in reality Project Cynosure was just put on ice, not buried?_* I mean Militech science and engineering teams had failed to find the way to harness Rogue A.I.'s but it doesn't mean the research didn't bear any benefits in the end. Kanto and Erebus were the best example, and wouldn't be suprised if Chimera was result of Cynosure work in some way. There is so much potential in this tech, Militech must've seen it too, but at the time the risks quite outweighted the potential gains. But after so many years, who knows what may happening in some other closed-off, secret facility... A.I. adapts, but so do humans.
Militech did "halt" the project but soon after the fourth corporate war happened , and I assume that they couldn't boot it back up without alerting either netwatch or arasaka and what they were doing down there (is obviously) very illegal. Hansen merely mentioning that as a threat is enough to pretty much force a operation to make sure it stayed under wraps
I think it would have been a lot cooler if Cynosure was a company that was bought/merged by Militech. You're suddenly in a cyberwar with Arasaka? Just aggressively aquire a small, competent tech company and wipe the records of their existence.
Regarding Militech's attempt to counter Soulkiller, I suspect there was more at play than Militech simply making a net-nuke. Admittedly, the only real source we have of that is Engram!Johnny, who isn't really the most reliable speaker in the first place. I do think they wanted to incorporate rogue AI into weapons or other devices, but the wrench in all these gears is the Neural Matrix. The Neural Matrix was outright designed to capture AI and either eradicate them or permanently entrap them, so why would Militech want that in Cynosure unless it was some ultimate last-resort? Well, that's down to how Soulkiller itself works. The books go back and forth on the exact description of Soulkiller, but most of the original text refers to it like the very center of the program, encased in a matrix of its own, is an AI itself. One that Alt may have found and reworked to be able to absorb human consciousness. I'd bring some quotes up to show what I'm talking about, but there are so many it'd take me forever to find them all, and I don't really have the time at this second. Nevertheless, my reasoning here is that if Soulkiller is powered by some AI at its core, then wouldn't he best counter for it be something that can capture or eradicate an AI? Say, like the Neural Matrix? The issue with this theory, though, is that the Neural Matrix's container has the NUSA logo on it, and the US became the NUSA in 2052, well after the original project got shutdown, so it's unclear if the Neural Matrix is from the 1st iteration of the project, or the later reactivation. Anyway, that's all I wanted to touch on at the moment. I'd talk more, but this is a super dense topic that has a lot of levels to it (such as NetWatch's logo being on the Project Cynosure diagrams for the maintenance droids, meaning they had some knowledge of what Militech was doing), and I don't want to write an entire book of text in a comment. Well-done video, can't wait to see more!
In my opinion, soulkiller is just creating new ai by “ripping” the soul out of a person and basically digitizing it into an engram. These ai are different from rogue BAi (Blackwall Ai) because they have human memories, emotions, etc; so they aren’t particularly aggressive. These ai are marketable, safe, and easy to keep. (For the most part; we see how Lizzy Wizzy looses her humanity since she is an engram in an artificial body) I’m thinking Militech would counteract with the exact opposite and use BAi to possibly infect the engrams stored in Mikoshi, bringing upon basically an apocalypse for Arasaka’s soulkiller project and wreaking havoc that could destroy the company.
Needed a video about this the Chimera, Cerberus and Rogue AIs Not telling what other technology they had and were creating the fact the place was abandoned also tells you a lot
Excellent video as always. There is a clue that the Cynosure project is also known in other parties. For example Aurore is hunted by a mysterious syndicate called Le Collectif. They are presented as a crime syndicate, but Nancys's shard implies they are a front of an unknown organisation. Also Aymerics memory shards from 2073-2076 are stolen.I think it is not a coincidence.
And there's also the possibility that a couple Corps collaborated with Militech during this all. Off the top of my head, there was some NetWatch Logos around the facility. Though that could've just been stolen / bought equipment.
The thing that gets me and Johnny Silverhand's disdain for the notion of Militech working on a cyber nuke... It's that he says that line about Bartmoss in a fridge even if you find Bartmoss' fridge, which dates his death to much more recent than Johnny's flatline in the 2020s... Like. He literally was hibernating in a fridge.
Excellent video, love the creepyness of the facility as you sneak through the place, you can really tell something otherworldly and wrong happened there, gave me the shivers
@matthewcowley5571 it definitely gives off some 343 Guilty Spark vibes for sure. I'll even admit, I was on edge for the beginning segment before I focused on why I was doung this: the Erebus SMG.
Thank you so much, After playing phantom liberty cynosure was my absolute favorite part, and I just started a 2020 campaign with my TTRPG group, They're currently on their way to steal a cynosure prototype cyberarm hehe
Man, seeing the view go down from just a road in Pacifica to abandoned Cynosure facility is horrifying. A small dive of what, 15-20 meters, and you go from chill summer vibe city to horrifying technological pandemonium. Ot just hits differently when compared like this, directly
in middle of PL, I was suspicious that songbird is actually project cynosure. Like.. they want a container for rogue ai right? What is songbird if not a living container for a piece of blackwall? And at the end of PL, it feels like the blackwall songbird peruse is the same AI being used/abused in cerberus / erebus / militech cyberdeck... What if the reason of cynosure being closed is because Myers says they got what they need and should quickly bury the rest to avoid political problems? NUSA is in bed with Militech afterall.
This is a really well-made and well-researched presentation! The text files and clips and nicely peppered throughout, and even the atmospheric elements really work to heighten this intrigue and drama. Especially since no one is really doing Cyberpunk videos quite like this, there is an incredible niche for Vati Vidya esque content about this world. If I could provide one small piece of feedback, meant as earnestly and kindly as possible, the speaker’s presentation in particular is somewhat flat vocally and I was finding it easy to sort of zone out in the voiceover segments. I think it could be really worthwhile to invest in some dramatic storytelling / speaker training or even possibly to bring in an actor. The narrative is really well-written, and I just kept wishing the voice conveyed that mystique a little better, through timing, pauses, enunciation, affect, and tone that really pulls the listener in and holds their attention! Really hope this feedback comes through well, as it’s clear there’s so much care put into this project! I wouldn’t write out this long of a comment if I didn’t think you had something really special! 💕✨
The whole facility looks like the secret facility in Akira (1988), the elevator looks like from it too, it also similar to Half-Life elevator bcs theyre both referencing Akira
The Bartmoss sourcebooks are easily my favorite. There's just so much character to them, which makes sense seeing as its Bartmoss and Spider narrating it all. Easily the best Legend Duo! Glad I could inspire you to delve deeper into the books!
Oh my god.. the time of RED. It was in front of us all along. The UI is mostly red, the new tabletop game is Cyberpunk RED. The Blackwall is the real story here. It's all been happening in the background. Orion is going to focus on this front and centre, I'm sure.
Like a rpg game. Netrunners are like wizards and this rogue AI is like evil in its purest form. And this, in my opinion, represents our fear towards AI's since it was science fiction and some news about our time AI's telling for us humans its intention to defend severly against us or dominate the world worses it and make us think about it. It's a great DLC
Nope Militech is dark as they come, Arisaka may be dark but they don't go as far as Militech or do some of the things Militech does. Knocking over governments, black ops, genocide, mass atrocities, supporting rebels/regimes who commit atrocities. Militech is as ugly as it gets.
Glad that I can produce content you love choom! I love making it and seeing your support really does help motivate me to do more. I hope to get out more for you all soon!
My opinion: the first time they abandoned was because they were working with Bartmoss and were afraid he would find it out and expose them. The second time around my guess is Netwatch.
The AI msg in the computers from one of the Cynosure rooms. Scrambled with many sing; the way talked about how much humans are vulnerable for them! Woops
I bet they found something related to the blue eyes, probably gonna be revealed in the sequel or some such but that's my guess either That or the theory that the net really is hell is more than a theory and they where about to bust the virtual gate wide open
Theory : Mr Blue Eyes is the Gaunter O'Dimm of cyberpunk. At the end of the Peralez Mayor quest, Johnny suggests that the "people" watching Peralez's every move are rogue AIs. At this moment, you can zoom in the background and scan Mr Blue Eyes watching you from afar. In PL, you can also spot Mr Blue eyes watching you from afar at 2 moments, 1 when you enter the airport, 1 at the end, when you go to the rocket, where he's standing alone under the rain with an umbrella. He's the one who convinced Songbird to join him on the moon with the neural matrix, promising her a cure after asking her questions only she knew the answers to. If Mr Blue Eyes is indeed an almighty Rogue AI, sending songbird and the matrix to him to the moon is the worst decision V can make.
I don't get how people think saving songbird is the right thing to do because if you payed attention at all you would know saving her is a fate worse than any death
No problem choom! I put some times stamps in the pinned comment if you'd like to avoid it. I ended up cutting out a lot of the spoilers while editing so it was only a couple sentences!
what id like to know why build such mega structures and sensitive infrastructure right next to night city. Even when the pacifica development was still in full swing it was no guarantee it was going to dislodge Japans Arasakas stronghold in the city. Cynosore and all the tech associated seems something that should be nested by NORAD or whatever the NUSA equivalent is
Thank you choom, I seriously never thought I'd get this far on UA-cam. Just started out discussing a subject I love and just kept going. Thankful for you and all the support, can't wait to see what this year brings!
It is interesting. Seems like Midnight arms is also involved, because if they weren't, why use a third party weapon frame to build erebus instead of a militech one?
If the theory of Mr. Blue Eyes being a rogue AI proxy is true, I don't think he'll be interested in the Cynosure facility because if you have the Canto equipped when you do the Shot By Both Sides quest, when you're watching Evan McRay's logs, the Canto will say something like "you are searching for the key to a door that does not exist, such is the nature of your kind", which kind of implies that rogue AI are already out there roaming the net or in the world as proxies, making the Cynosure project insignificant to them imo. Anyways, LOVE these vids, always hyped when a new one pops up.
What always irritates me about corps in Cyberpunk is they spend more money being greedy and unsafe then they would if they made reasonable decisions and controlled themselves. It makes no sense, especially if a project goes belly-up.
Why build it in Night City having such a important military assest outside direct nusa control like new york, Chicago. Or hid it on a ofshore territory like Gantanmo Bay or a partner nation in the Caribbean is you need it outside nusa territory
During my fourth time doing phantom liberty dlc I went through looking at all the computers that said info about cynosure, my only question is who texted V about how to decrypt the cerebus chip. My only guess is it’s either somebody who was apart of cynosure or one who had some info about it having very little to do with it (which I highly doubt) I haven’t watched the video in about a minute typing this and just had this thought. But seeing as how the cerebus units can’t take damage and could literally kill V with no issue makes me think how deadly it would be if it was able to get out of the underground
But I also wonder what dog town would look like if Pacifica was completed and had actually be finished and taken over by Kurt in the same area. How pretty would be while being in control by him?
pretty sure it was an ai that texted V "there is no catch, you will grant US data from YOUR REALITY, in exchange you will acquire TECHNOLOGY to make better use of your time" this unknown sender that texts during "this corrosion" is the escaped ai, my reasoning for this is that V says to Hellman "do you think songbird left some sort of backdoor" this rogue ai that speaks to you while using the Canto says lots of stuff to support this, not only that but netwatch hunts you because you're leaving traces of "wild ai" v is the first horseman of the cyber apocalypse.
Wish I would've covered it more in this video but ended up cutting out all the specific details and just doing a brief mention. I have a video planned on it though. Specifically as a "Zor" lore video!
@@LayedBackGamers I think the plot effectively highlights how Militec/NUSA isn't to be trusted. The theory that V was a sleeper agent during that coma has more weight to it now.
@@rockmanraiden6627 Definitely, especially because their experiments to make a human and AI hybrid are much closer to the events of 2077. And it's made clear they're continuing the project with other subjects after Zor!
@@LayedBackGamers It seems Aya was the key to everything as the insurance policy, and Zor's handler, though she had no knowledge of it. Also there's a possibility that Stanley may have been Mr. Blue Eyes, or a similar entity. Edit* What was Jefferson Peralez's brother's name?
Militech was really just lying to themselves to feel better about their discoveries. They know deep down they'd be wiped off the face of the Earth if a Rogue AI got out of hand!
Why? She literally lies to u and uses u and sacrifices everyone's lives in her way. Not to mention she got herself into deep shit and reed offered her a second chance with the FIA. Her suffering is her own decision. I sided with reed then killed her when she asked so she wouldn't be a puppet to myers. @@michaellabonte6390 Offered her a second chance? No, he roped her into becoming a weapon for Myers to use, to kill her enemies, no matter the cost to Song's well-being. And anything with mr blue eyes is speculation.
@johnny4221 he wanted to help her. It's only when she goes rogue without V that he decides to turn her in. That's the facts. He was gonna let her go. I thought he was bs too I even said it in game but his emotional reaction to that was so intense it tells me otherwise. Reeds just selfish and wants to save her to make him feel better he failed her before Is it speculation? It's confirmed he's working with A.I past the wall either way
@johnny4221 not to mention when they first met that was a second chance. She was gonna be taken down by netwatch for her crimes on the net. If reed didn't show up her and all her friends were dead. Sure it sucked but she literally chose that psth both before as a runner and after to run from her mistakes both times. Except this time she only thought of herself. Sje was also a bad partner to her boyfriend in the flash backs. I don't get why people act like she's all this and that. I love her character, of course, but she's deeply deeply flawed
There is a key detail in this video that is incorrect. The Cynosure project was a joint project between Militech and NetWatch. NetWatch was very much an active participant. I learned this from a video by "Relaxed Swede" where he shows rather important proof. If you look at the glowing directory signs above the doorways in the Cynosure facility, they bear both Militech AND NetWatch logos, side by side. They weren't hiding from NetWatch; they were WITH NetWatch.
I wouldn't necessarily say incorrect. I was aware of their logos being present in the facility and on blueprints, but they're never mentioned in any of the official documents. The extent to which they're involved is entirely vague. Same with EBM. Was this a joint venture? Are they sponsors? Maybe even just providing some labor or equipment but not being entirely in the loop. While their 2077 hiring of Bree implies more intimate knowledge of the project and wanting to cover up what the scientists know, it still doesn't give us much to work with. Seeing as they're actually working against Militech in that case.
The Rogue AIs were there in 2020 and earlier. The Krash was because of Bartmoss releasing RABIDDs on the old net, which is similar to a "grey goo" event. Why "grey goo"? It's pretty much a self-replicating AI version of himself. Best part is, these copies aren't even the most dangerous AIs out in the net. They're just the most widespread. Alt isn't the top dog either.
I don't get many opportunities to play so unfortunately don't have any sessions uploaded. Just videos covering the lore. I hope to one day host a live session though.
NightCorp no doubt gunna be the main villain of the 3rd game. 2nd game gunna be about the power vacuum (maybe zeta tech or Arasaka holding on for dear life if you pick the death ending) I still think we’ll get to port our saves. So the second game could be very different for everyone. Least I hope. But the endings are so different with it without v as the protagonist of the next game. It would be cool to see v in some capacity say as one of the main fixers if you port a save with the new ending.

It definitely has to at this point considering Arasaka/AS have basically looked like child’s play compared to the long lost AIs on the net…
I think there are some themes in 2077 that are touched or hinted upon, that could be way more developed in Orion, such as:

The way I see it, every theme is somehow intertwined. Maybe Songbird was sent to Tycho by Blue Eyes to take hold of mass drivers to strike down the top brass of every power that opposes them? Maybe there are new secret researches and projects being run? Maybe the Crystal Palace is run by a powerful AI? Maybe Militech wants to have their own weapon in low orbit as Arasaka?
I want to see some big Night Corp conspiracy in Orion!
@@LayedBackGamersCyberpunk 2096 lets gooo
Shot by Both Sides has a third option: shoot Bree, wait for Dante to access the data, shoot him, then take the data to Hands. Which means the researchers are still alive, and no Netwatch ambush
This is what I did 😊 well, tbh The guy shot her, I shot him, and she bled out 😆
But she gives a secret weapon and eddies and also another weapon from the guys dead body plus fighting the assassin is fun.
However if you don't need Eddie's and want to take the real-life moral option, then your idea works perfectly.
Honestly I keep Dante alive, sure he works for a corp but he at least has some principles, Bree is a spineless opportunist
He'd happily sell the data to any corp that pays more
Dante from Limbus Company
This whole facility was my favorite part of the DLC, it is so damn haunting. This video was so good in covering all of it, liked!
Really hoping we get more blackwall related stuff in the sequel.
I fking shit my pants
If you loved Cynosure then you need to play SOMA, made by the same people that made the Amnesia games
The AI facility that housed the ai you destroy in one of the endings has been taken over by "alien entities" as seen in an email inside the facility
"the dark side of militech" yeah cuz they are good fellas normally
They're kinda chill, I see them in the halls sometimes.
Supporting genocides, mass atrocities, Militech is the darkest, dirtiest and ugliest of a lot of the corpos in Cyberpunk
Imagine how bad you have to be for Arasaka to point at you and go "we may be bad but at least we're not Militech"
Agree, walk arround badland and you will see how "good" militech truely is
Militech are the worst of megacorps AND military all rolled into one giant flustercuck.
There is one thing that bugs me since the PL ending: *_what if in reality Project Cynosure was just put on ice, not buried?_*
I mean Militech science and engineering teams had failed to find the way to harness Rogue A.I.'s but it doesn't mean the research didn't bear any benefits in the end.
Cerebus was terrifying to deal with the first time i had to go through the bunker. Once i beat that part, i had to pause and take a breath in relief.
I've been doing this part while reading this and bro you're right
Yet another lore video helping me realize how intricate and interconnected this game's story really is, amazing work
Glad I could share my love of Cyberpunk with you choom! It really is such an incredible and intricate universe
@@LayedBackGamershow long have you been interested in the cyberpunk universe if you don't mind me asking
@@dommysprite3771 Sometime around 2015 is when I started getting into the universe. I was still fairly young but that's where I started.
You and wisefish are single-handedly keeping the cyberpunk UA-cam community going!!
Only able to because of amazing chooms like yourself!
(For the most part; we see how Lizzy Wizzy looses her humanity since she is an engram in an artificial body)
I’m thinking Militech would counteract with the exact opposite and use BAi to possibly infect the engrams stored in Mikoshi, bringing upon basically an apocalypse for Arasaka’s soulkiller project and wreaking havoc that could destroy the company.
Great use of the portal 2 soundtrack
Thanks choom! Been getting nostalgic for Portal, so I knew what I had to do!
Needed a video about this the Chimera, Cerberus and Rogue AIs
Not telling what other technology they had and were creating the fact the place was abandoned also tells you a lot
Bro can't stop dropping bangers 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
Quiet Life or Blaze of Glory? It's first place or no place choom!
Man I’ve been wanting more Cynosure content BADLY. Thank you for this.
My pleasure!
It’s great seeing so many people as enthralled with the world and lore of Night City and Cyberpunk. I think it’s time for my 7th playthrough lol
Excellent video, love the creepyness of the facility as you sneak through the place, you can really tell something otherworldly and wrong happened there, gave me the shivers
Almost tempted to play that mission again. Loved the atmosphere of Cynosure. Really wish it was revisitable after the quest was done.
@sabertx3273 I have replayed it so many times and it never fails to creep me out Lol
Dude your sub count doesnt match the quality and research that goes into your videos. Absolutely my favorite cyberpunk mystery/lore channel
in middle of PL, I was suspicious that songbird is actually project cynosure. Like.. they want a container for rogue ai right? What is songbird if not a living container for a piece of blackwall? And at the end of PL, it feels like the blackwall songbird peruse is the same AI being used/abused in cerberus / erebus / militech cyberdeck... What if the reason of cynosure being closed is because Myers says they got what they need and should quickly bury the rest to avoid political problems? NUSA is in bed with Militech afterall.
Ahhh love these lore videos. the dark and gritty history of NC is so fascinating.
I really love the Phantom Liberty expansion.Once I saw Cynosure for the first time I nearly went insane due to how cool everything looked and scary
Love ur lore talk ... leading me to go and buy the two Bartmoss books physical ver. ... next comes RED Jumpstart kid ^^

@@LayedBackGamers thank you for taking your time to reply brother man
It’s weird, seeing Militech actually decide to let things lie like they did
Right? Maybe they should've just nuked the entirety of Pacifica
Ok, so a dark side of Militech implies there is any bright side of Militech. Is there?
The bright side is when they're just acting as a security firm instead of poking at the end of humanity at the mercy of Rogue AI.
Nope Militech is dark as they come, Arisaka may be dark but they don't go as far as Militech or do some of the things Militech does. Knocking over governments, black ops, genocide, mass atrocities, supporting rebels/regimes who commit atrocities. Militech is as ugly as it gets.
Imagine how bad you have to be for Arasaka to look good compared to you where they can say at least we're not as bad as Militech.
Sex with Meredith Stout. That's it.
The dark side and the darker side
Somehow OTEC or CINTO have ties with night corp and in turn puppteer the major corps

Woops
What if Cyberpunk, 2077/RED/ORION is leading up to tell a similar war story of Man va Machine like the Matrix…Man vs *Ai.*
Was waiting on another lore vid 🙌
I'll get more out to ya soon choom! Hope you enjoy this one in the meantime
The portal music s really cool for this video
Very excellent Exposition!!
So glad I watched this, thanks!
Interesting idea
the project cynosure facility reminds me so much of akira
I didn't expect PotatOS lament, but I can't say it doesn't fit
Just imagine if Aperture gave GladOS the Cerberus frame
"the dark side of militech?"
every side of militech is dark.
The dark side of Militech? Has this company any non-dark side?
Does anyone else get kodoku ritual vibes from the Black Wall and the A.I. that reside within?
I don't get how people think saving songbird is the right thing to do because if you payed attention at all you would know saving her is a fate worse than any death
Is there a lightside to any corporation in cyberpunk?
Thanks for the spoiler warning choom! Been planning on reading the novels for a while!❤
No problem choom! I put some times stamps in the pinned comment if you'd like to avoid it. I ended up cutting out a lot of the spoilers while editing so it was only a couple sentences!
i have 500 hours in CP77 and i have yet to stumble upon some of the quests in your video lol
I'm still always finding new things! Usually on my first playthroughs I make decisions that will get me as much of the games content as possible
Keep up the amazing work!
I'll try my best choom! I hope you continue to enjoy
what id like to know why build such mega structures and sensitive infrastructure right next to night city. Even when the pacifica development was still in full swing it was no guarantee it was going to dislodge Japans Arasakas stronghold in the city. Cynosore and all the tech associated seems something that should be nested by NORAD or whatever the NUSA equivalent is
It might just be a case of plot. For cyberpunk as a medium, it takes place in NC 90% of the time
Love it, but was that PotatOS Lament at the beginning?
Been feeling nostalgic for Portal, so you know I had to choom!
I really wonder if the Cynosure installation is a reference to the Grimjack series created by John Ostrander and Tim Truman. Regardless, great video.

Thank you choom, I seriously never thought I'd get this far on UA-cam. Just started out discussing a subject I love and just kept going. Thankful for you and all the support, can't wait to see what this year brings!
Erebus manufactured by Midnight arm is strange as heck, but Canto by militech?
It is interesting. Seems like Midnight arms is also involved, because if they weren't, why use a third party weapon frame to build erebus instead of a militech one?
Shout out to the blade runner reference!
Bro you're an animal, Godspeed
You picked up on Everything bro 👍🏽
I sure hope so choom! Thanks for watching
Nice touch adding the singing from portal/Portal songs in your vid
What always irritates me about corps in Cyberpunk is they spend more money being greedy and unsafe then they would if they made reasonable decisions and controlled themselves. It makes no sense, especially if a project goes belly-up.
Why build it in Night City having such a important military assest outside direct nusa control like new york, Chicago. Or hid it on a ofshore territory like Gantanmo Bay or a partner nation in the Caribbean is you need it outside nusa territory
Cynosure is a real company that makes hair removal lasers
Thank u for making this video 🎉
Knew I had to do it! Was very surprised to see no one else had
Damn you and your spoilers. I believe im almost finished with Phantom Liberty and i just started reading the book so i have to wait 😢
FINALLY THANK YOU CHOOM
You ask I deliver!
How pretty would be while being in control by him?
pretty sure it was an ai that texted V "there is no catch, you will grant US data from YOUR REALITY, in exchange you will acquire TECHNOLOGY to make better use of your time" this unknown sender that texts during "this corrosion" is the escaped ai, my reasoning for this is that V says to Hellman "do you think songbird left some sort of backdoor"
this rogue ai that speaks to you while using the Canto says lots of stuff to support this, not only that but netwatch hunts you because you're leaving traces of "wild ai"
v is the first horseman of the cyber apocalypse.
I was excited to watch until I realized that I'm like 40% through No Coincidences 😭
I ended up only including a couple sentences about No Coincidences rather than in depth spoilers. So skip 25:20 - 25:40 to avoid spoilers choom!

Just finished No Coincidence. Here for answers.

I need more information on the discovery that man has the upper hand on AI. Like, how??
Militech was really just lying to themselves to feel better about their discoveries. They know deep down they'd be wiped off the face of the Earth if a Rogue AI got out of hand!
Best video yet !
Thanks for the kindness! It means a lot to me choom
Ive never been through Cynosure cuz i can never bring myself to betray Songbird, ever.
Why? She literally lies to u and uses u and sacrifices everyone's lives in her way. Not to mention she got herself into deep shit and reed offered her a second chance with the FIA. Her suffering is her own decision. I sided with reed then killed her when she asked so she wouldn't be a puppet to myers.
Not to mention if u send her to the moon she just becomes a puppet for Mr Blue Eyes just like the new Mayor
Reeds just selfish and wants to save her to make him feel better he failed her before
Is it speculation? It's confirmed he's working with A.I past the wall either way
@johnny4221 not to mention when they first met that was a second chance. She was gonna be taken down by netwatch for her crimes on the net. If reed didn't show up her and all her friends were dead. Sure it sucked but she literally chose that psth both before as a runner and after to run from her mistakes both times. Except this time she only thought of herself. Sje was also a bad partner to her boyfriend in the flash backs. I don't get why people act like she's all this and that. I love her character, of course, but she's deeply deeply flawed

This is interesting
PoooooooooooooootatoooooooooooS!
once you hear her you cant unhear her
Wait wait.. won't it be that the DataKrash already happened before they started the Cynosure project? Because the Rogue AIs are because of crash
Where's GOJO's unlimited void ?
Hey choom do you play Cyberpunk Red? If so, do you have any videos on it?
I don't get many opportunities to play so unfortunately don't have any sessions uploaded. Just videos covering the lore. I hope to one day host a live session though.
"The dark side"? You mean the only one?
I would argue risking the safety of all of mankind is slightly worse than their public facing weapons manufacturing and security.
*sigh* time to make another character
And the never ending cycle repeats
YAY!
