I'm not sure Johnny fabricated the memories. I think Arasaka did. We have numerous instances in the game of memories being faked entirely by corporate entities, which leads me to think that parts of Johnny were simply rewritten to deliberately obscure Blackhand's involvement. Why is anyone's guess, but we know the Johnny engram can't code himself, so, how would he fake that material? HE can't. He's a program. Silverhand would never be "a useful asset". They'd have to completely rewrite him for that. But notice that most of Silverhand's memories we see are ones that were of incidents that were, if not publically known, widespread knowledge. We literally never see him in private in a manner that is completely outside of something Arasaka might be aware of. Dataminers once found, that model of Mr Blue Eyes was marked as Morgan Blackhand in files, but he had no black hand actually. So probably, CDPR planned to introduce Blackhand, but then decided to step back and reused already existing model for another character. Still, there is possibility, that Blackhand was copied by liberated Alt and turned into engram, and we also know, that AI controlled NightCorp actually has technology to gently install or modify personality in living body (Peralez family second quest, Sandra Dorset side quest and Harry the Prophet's side quests), while worshipping two grand AIs (one is Alt and another is referenced as male, so could be a Mr Night or Blackhand in form of an AI). Anyway, CDPR's intention to add the Blackhand into game is kind of a confirmation, that he survived the HQ accident.
It would be a dream come true for Pondsmith if they got Clooney for a live action! I hope they do more animated shows though. Sort of like an anthology
I think we're going to see him instead of smasher in the sequel. Assuming the secret ending is the Canon one, smasher is dead but blackhand's whereabouts are unknown
I just hope we get to see more of Morgan Blackhand in a possible sequel to 2077 or a spin-off. So far, after learning what I have about him, he’s quickly become my favorite character in the Cyberpunk universe. He’s almost like a futuristic version of the Punisher.
I have a hope that the confirmed live action TV show they’re doing will follow Blackhand after the AHQ bombing and whatever story goes on from there. We’d also learn about how things went down with AHQ from his perspective in flashbacks where you would see cameos of known people. The B story in the show would follow Rogue and her journey to becoming queen of the Afterlife. I keep picturing Henry Cavill as Blackhand…
This was a nostalgic treat. I own, but have yet to play 2077. However, I used to run and absorb all the lore for the Cyberpunk RPG in the 90s (Shadowrun as well). I hadn't thought about Morgan Blackhand in the longest time and I'd avoided learning too much about the game. It's strange that I haven't thought about him because in the early product, he was all over the place. Moreso than Silverhand even I'd say. Easily. It was great to hear this recounting and have it all come flooding back now that I'm about to engage with the game. Also, it makes me feel super old, because this was when I was a teen and working at a hobby shop that let me order whatever roleplaying games I wanted. Bet that kind of thing doesn't exist anymore either. Think I'm going to go turn to dust now. Very old dust. (Why have I waited so long to play 2077? I was waiting for the studio to finish it.)
Despite the technical issues cyberpunk was an amazing experience even at launch. Did I hate the crashes, glitches and overall poor state.. hell yeah. But the lore, the overall story and potential was there from day 1. You will not be disappointed.

Okay, I've had these thoughts about Morgan Blackhand and Cyberpunk 2077 lore in general. So I'm just going to just share them. I don't think there was ever anything official (or even any fan theory) about this but I've always felt that there is a rough concept of a good/human/no cyberware VS evil/inhuman/no ganic scale. It's not really in the game but there's quite a few sources (datashards) that subtlety show the player who their V can be. Your V can be a merc like Morgan Blackhand (good, non-lethal, passive, minimal cyberware, humanity) or like like Adam Smasher (evil, enjoys killing, cruel, full borg, inhuman) To be continued....
The people I take out as V are brutal sick monsters. I save non-lethal for Cyberpsychos and high profile targets. Everybody else better hope I use non-lethal quick hacks
Это если не считать того что Ви под управлением игрока сам выбирает какой хром ему ставить, так что все зависит от игрока, да и у Ви визуально внешность не особо меняется, так что думаю он не намерен становиться боргом
Have you done any research on Doctor Paradox, or Maximus Mikes Radio Brodcasts. Both are pretty cool to listen to but wasn’t sure if there was more to these characters from the books and table top
I figure the same and made a video about it, the main part making me think so is his apparent sudden appearance in the DaiOni armor. Which wasn't stated at all during his appearance in the lab. But maybe that was just a detail initially excluded and he was in the armor. There's also always the chance he swapped armor in between since he had modules for fast swaps and also still had Shaitans Biopod from the lab
I didn’t know anything about a Morgan black hand till now and I don’t have phantom liberty my v doesn’t even have basic upgrades to their cyberware and even that I haven’t gotten her any cyberware after vik installed the kiroshi implants
@@LayedBackGamers it was the epilogue convo. If you kill so mi. When you approach him, something like "the nusa send you to kill me? Tie off loose ends?" Kind of a joke. And he goes "you think if i wanted you dead youd know i was coming? Youre good but youre no blackhand" And i immediately searched cuz that made him sound like a stone cold killer.
I can imagine some sort of hint or mention, but no, I highly doubt that he'll actually be in the expansion. Hopefully, he'll be in the upcoming sequel.
There's shard with his book on it. Few mentions suring dialogs in Afterlife, Jackie mentioned him few times. And after the gig in Arasaka hotel - almost nothing.
Did you see the new cinematic trailer?? Do you believe that’s Blackhand or have we gotten a name for idris character? I know mike made Blackhand based off his self
We have, Elbas character is named Solomon Reed he used to be a NUSA agent. So it is a new character but nonetheless he seems well written and interesting. Perhaps he has met Blackhand in the past or has some info on him though!
The new ending that unlocks at the end the game after playing phantom liberty is interesting. Spoilers for those that don't want to know. V is able to survive by having the relic surgically removed but at the cost of not being able to use combat cyberware anymore and wakes up 2 years later in 2079 the removal of the relic fried all of their nerves so they can now use only basic implants. Solomon Reed offers V a job at the FIB. V is now a government asset. If Cyberpunk Orion continues Vs story i think it would be cool if V is then trianed by Morgan Blackhand. That would be very interesting i think but we'll have to wait and see.
I hope this isn’t a spoiler but we pretty much know who he is due to data mining. However, since it’s data mining it could be a scrapped idea so it may not be canon. But Morgan black hand is Mr. Blue Eyes. They use the same character model except in the flashback model he doesn’t have the glowing blue eyes. My theory is he’s being controlled by a rogue AI being used as a proxy to move about and establish power in the human world. But again this is based on data mining so they may have changed their minds about this route. Especially with Peralez mission it’s theorized AI are trying to brainwash humans. We can see Morgan Blackhand/Mr. Blue Eyes watching us.
Wasn't the datamining "evidence" simply that the hair of Mr. Blue Eyes is labeled blackhand or something. I don't really see this as any hard prove that Blue Eyes is Morgan Blackhand.
Morgan Black Hand and Mr Blue Eyes are Rumored to be the same person but if it this holds water or not I'm not sure but I would think these characters are so important they would have met sooner or later I imagine
It's a real shame that they would just let go these iconic characters meanwhile doing some (imho) cheap-ass freaks except Johnny himself and a small list of others. It's just unfair

Nice intro dude. Never thought Morgan ever did return to Militech - they tried to off him! Several times. Using several methods. Including the nuke.
Part of my opinion really does come down to actually liking CyberGen ':).
Personally, I hope he's off sipping Martinis somewhere nice. But he's probably on the run from everyone after him now. More than likely it'll lead him right back to NC in the end.
Hope Max Mike finishes Morgan's story soon. I'm really curious to know the fates of more 2020 characters - so far we only really have Rogue and Boa Boa. :/ Some of the Forlorn Hope from Red too.
Maximum Mike's cyberyoda joshing is so good.
I like to imagine in Smashers last moments, he thought “Silverhand’s regards? Don’t you mean Blackhand?”
Mike Pondsmith actually asked for Morgan Blackhand not to be present in the game.
This lore deserves to get a movie adaptation.
I'm of the opinion that the next game will be militech and backhand focused. I also think we'll see crystal palace
I want a Morgan Blackhand TV show so bad. Animated or not animated, either way would be cool.
It would be a dream come true for Pondsmith if they got Clooney for a live action! I hope they do more animated shows though. Sort of like an anthology
In my mind I always pictured Morgan Blackhand as black. I guess because I equate him with Pondsmith.
Wouldn’t be wrong cause Pondsmith created the character of himself
@@SCSAsJorts yeah but he himself has also said Morgan looks like George Clooney, so no, not black.
I think we're going to see him instead of smasher in the sequel. Assuming the secret ending is the Canon one, smasher is dead but blackhand's whereabouts are unknown
He'd be close to 90 years old but sure. I guess people do live longer in the Cyberpunk universe. Saburo Arasaka was creeping up on 160 when he died.
Morgan blackhand is Columbo.
Can't unsee it
Damn sounds like an interesting character, hopefully we see him in Orion
I just hope we get to see more of Morgan Blackhand in a possible sequel to 2077 or a spin-off. So far, after learning what I have about him, he’s quickly become my favorite character in the Cyberpunk universe. He’s almost like a futuristic version of the Punisher.
I'm really sure we will meet Morgan Blackhand in the sequel. Really sure...
@@shamakiooglesby6418 Hey, thanks boss!
@@jasonsaddisonu play yet
Morgan Blackhand vs Adam Smasher is literally built different vs “built” different
Hes such a neat character. I hope they do an anthology animated show about all the interesting people
I know I don't have have as many followers as you but I had to give yah a shout on my channel for being a main choom choom especially near my birthday much love choom here's to many years to come of lore and speculation!!
Hope yah see this!! Love yah brother thank you that's all I can say!
Choom what day is your birthday? Much love to you my friend. You've always been extremely kind and supportive I love the conversations we have!
@@LayedBackGamers the 18th choom! And thanks bro lol just love the content you make brother man that and the convos definitely definitely enjoy the convos!!
@@LayedBackGamers did you see the nod to ken block in 2.0 mission "I'm in love with my car!"
as a cyberpunk GM, thank you for your service.
Great content again, my theory is Morgan Blackhand should be the main playable in the sequel, or that'd be a badazz idea, or feature him similarly to how Silverhand was used in the first game.
That would be fun but he’s Pondsmith’s personal solo character, I doubt he’d be open to it
I’ve been anticipating this, thanks choom!
Fantastic video!! I've come to really enjoy all your narrations! Feeds my Cyberpunk lore cravings
I deeply appreciate you and your work
I just finished PL today, what a game. Cyberpunk is my fave genre now lol
Is the enforcers handbook a real book I can read or find some place I want to read it so bad 😂
channel fire like the world building for cyberpunk keep it up bro
Okay, I've had these thoughts about Morgan Blackhand and Cyberpunk 2077 lore in general. So I'm just going to just share them.
I don't think there was ever anything official (or even any fan theory) about this but I've always felt that there is a rough concept of a good/human/no cyberware VS evil/inhuman/no ganic scale. It's not really in the game but there's quite a few sources (datashards) that subtlety show the player who their V can be. Your V can be a merc like Morgan Blackhand (good, non-lethal, passive, minimal cyberware, humanity) or like like Adam Smasher (evil, enjoys killing, cruel, full borg, inhuman)
To be continued....
I use stealth and non lethal takedown. . . Unless its Raffen Shiv or Scavs. I obliterate them no mercy cause they are evil
Oh and Placide! I kill him too haha
The people I take out as V are brutal sick monsters. I save non-lethal for Cyberpsychos and high profile targets. Everybody else better hope I use non-lethal quick hacks
The whole skills>chrome is all well and good, but any punk with a sandy can just pop Blackhand in the head before he can blink.
He has a book on the ship of smasher stash and it talks about David and Johnny 😮 black hand still alive
Nice one!
Blackhand is a badass hope we can meet him in the sequel
Would be preem to get a show/movie with him
good stuff thanks
I try my best choom!
Dude when the game released Mr BLUE eyes, character model were named Morgan Blackhand
We need a Blackhand build
Your use of the new soundtrack fit the story.
Cdpr have announced a mysterious media project in the cyber punk universe it would be awesome if that was based on blackhand.
Yooo Morgan blackhand? Ah nice!!
Thing is V is chromed up, whereas Morgan Blackhand doesn't have the most fancy chromes, he just goes for simple ones that help him.
Loving this stuff. Keep it up!!
I know i'm late I figure "Adam Smasher" is a soul copy, not unless that was a remote controlled body at the top of Arisaka tower.
I figure the same and made a video about it, the main part making me think so is his apparent sudden appearance in the DaiOni armor. Which wasn't stated at all during his appearance in the lab. But maybe that was just a detail initially excluded and he was in the armor. There's also always the chance he swapped armor in between since he had modules for fast swaps and also still had Shaitans Biopod from the lab
...Is this dude the cyberpunk incarnation of Guts Berserkman?
I'd like to imagine blackhand as a dale gribble type
Pocket sand! Shi shaw!
I think it's possible for two opposing positions can be correct simultaneously.
Machines are stronger than flesh.
Metal is Stronger then Flesh.
I didn’t know anything about a Morgan black hand till now and I don’t have phantom liberty my v doesn’t even have basic upgrades to their cyberware and even that I haven’t gotten her any cyberware after vik installed the kiroshi implants
Reed briefly mentioned him and i was immediately intrigued. "You're no blackhand".
No but i am V. You better ask about me😂
I wish I got that dialogue. There should've been more dialogue about Silverhand and Blackhand from the NUSA
@@LayedBackGamers it was the epilogue convo. If you kill so mi. When you approach him, something like "the nusa send you to kill me? Tie off loose ends?" Kind of a joke. And he goes "you think if i wanted you dead youd know i was coming? Youre good but youre no blackhand"
And i immediately searched cuz that made him sound like a stone cold killer.
Morgan Blackhand is just Snake from MGS. Edit = CYBERPUNK 2077 PLAYED US WITH THE SILVERHAND MISSION, THE SCALE OF THE OPERATION.
Need a black hand build now
I would love a corpo cyberpunk game you can sign on with militech Arasaka and kang tao
Fantastic, thanks choom ❤
Pretty sure I found his rotting corpse in a cooler at a dump in the outskirts of night city.
Thats Bartmoss Not Morgan.
@@Aaroniswompwomp oh yeah you're right I got them confused
@@Ace.D.Portogas all good! :)
Bartmoss is an amazing character, I seriously want more explanation on why his body ended up there perfectly for V to find
@@LayedBackGamers fr and also why no one mentions it. Even in the dlc, u can tell Songbird it, and she says no, nothing like, isn't that big news?
I really hope he is in Phantom Liberty. Probably not but lets hope
I can imagine some sort of hint or mention, but no, I highly doubt that he'll actually be in the expansion. Hopefully, he'll be in the upcoming sequel.
I actually find it insane he wasn't mentioned in the DLC. A lot of things weren't mentioned that should've been unfortunately
Unfortunately he's not 🙁
I just can't help myself to think that he is extremely similiar to Guts from berserk , but in cyberpunk settings .
Love these videos
What’s weird is Morgan would be 111 in 2077. Or around that age. 18 in 1980s would mean he was born around early/late 1960s. Def over 100 in 2077.
Am I crazy or was Morgan never mentioned before the phantom update? I heard Jackie say his name in the afterlife and I had never heard it before.
He's referenced a couple of times
The former
There's shard with his book on it. Few mentions suring dialogs in Afterlife, Jackie mentioned him few times. And after the gig in Arasaka hotel - almost nothing.
The biggest lengend until V
Did you see the new cinematic trailer?? Do you believe that’s Blackhand or have we gotten a name for idris character? I know mike made Blackhand based off his self
We have, Elbas character is named Solomon Reed he used to be a NUSA agent. So it is a new character but nonetheless he seems well written and interesting. Perhaps he has met Blackhand in the past or has some info on him though!
@@LayedBackGamers Blackhand must be out there somewhere under a suedo name
@@lucianoromero777he might show up in Cyberpunk 2

❤️🥂
Great. Thank you.
No...Thank YOU my brother
Sounds like big boss to me
I hope the next game allows you to go without any cyberware. Also the opposite, i wanna be able to get a full conversion so I'm a walking tank.
Silverhand…Blackhand…a theme?
I’m also edging in cyberpsychosis
It would have been cool is Idris Elba was Morgan instead of Morgan. Reed was awsome but it would have been cool. Next play though I'm going blackhand
Was the AHQ bombing retconned fro cyberpunk 2077 or was Morgan Blackhand there during the strike and just not shown in game?
Silverhands engram was either edited or he was egotistical and thought he was the mastermind.
Morgan Black Hand and Mr Blue Eyes are Rumored to be the same person but if it this holds water or not I'm not sure but I would think these characters are so important they would have met sooner or later I imagine
Wonder if Keanu would've been a better Blackhand rather than Silverhand.
So who did it first was it Morgan blackhand or Johnny silverhand
Who did what first? The game makes it very clear that Johnny's memories are tampered with and manipulated by his ego.
It's a real shame that they would just let go these iconic characters meanwhile doing some (imho) cheap-ass freaks except Johnny himself and a small list of others. It's just unfair
