The soviets never recovered the ability to be self sufficient in terms of food production after Lenin's disastrous reforms. Depending on the year it was anything up to 12% of the soviet food supply was sourced from the US alone (though the more typical figure was around 6%). That is why the 1972 grain disaster in Russia caused a titanic price shock in the US for instance, the US govt earmarked too much of the US's own harvest for Russia which then lead to shortages in the US. Additionally the issue was exacerbated by the soviet union exporting some of its own harvests to client states, in order to gain political influence with them. Which is kind of silly to think about, but I suppose from the soviet point of view since you had guaranteed supplies from the US and Europe it's a good idea.

USA won a close victory in Afghanistan they took the resources then left it's not the same with Vietnam which they truly lost but Viet Cong lost more men
forgive me for being a bit slow, but from what i understand from your video, cuberpunk 2077 is basically an alternate reality game based around the premis that the soviet union accepted help from europen countries in reguards to chernobil.... basically a living world where the soviets could accept a failure?
essentually making this a 2177 simulation.... the depth of the story is amazing.
hats off to CDProjekt Red....
thank you for your video
Cyberpunk has existed far before 2077. It was a ttrpg.
It's almost like an allegory for today's reality, but only just. 🤔
Not really, it more like a Marxist worldview turned up to eleven, because the real world is a lot better due to capitalism.
Idk which one is worst (the world) this or Fallout
@@Nobody.exe50 fallout is the worst by far.
At least this world wasn't bombed by all nukes at once. Not yet lol
@@neck9808 i guess i agree , the fallout one its just like "whats the point???"
Best part this future is literally impossible Russia is incapable of this like there is no way Americas economy was that bad im happy we didn’t get this future because wow
There's no way Western Europe would betray the USA and become friends with the USSR lol, that was the most unrealistic part of the lore.
@@cynicalmemester1694 fr real Russia is universally hated
@@cynicalmemester1694 "Betray" and "friends" are not concepts in the geopolitics. Ya'all ought to read some Machiavelli, Mersheimmer or Waltz. While at it go read some history and see how quickly UK and France become budds and stoped their hundreds year old rivalry just because some dudes with pickelhaube or papakha decided to do moves that hurt their precious poor great power feefees. Really, for someone with "cynic" in the name you are quite an idealistic kid.
@thirteenthdemon1204 I understand that, I never meant it literally. The EU benefits from being apart of the American hegemony in many many ways, the idea that they would abandon their partnership in favor of a failing enemy socialist state is ridiculous to me. The EU is apart of the Imperial core that is led by the USA.
@@cynicalmemester1694 You do realize that cyberpunk universe's USA "done goofed" one too many times to be profitable partners for EU? Also have you ever considered that as EU, USA are different in Cyberpunk universe so does USSR? Like why do you yankees go all on the freedonian spiel when any media depicts USA as anything less than global sheriff? You want story narrative where USA is "STRONKEST FREEIEST COUNTRY IN DA WORL"? Go play cod and marvel at explosions or do some roleplay in some strategy game if you can comprehand it.
Rly that DLC is one year old now. Good stuff but endings lowered my overall impression of the experience.
Free the sausages
Hehe dong
I feel like some of this lore is really dumb
Love your content, but you’re not layout format and how you talk reminds me of a another UA-camr
literally think i preordered the expansion and never even played it lol i got burnt out on this game my first time through with the money glitch i have every car crazy ass guns literally every implant in the game lol
lol @ b3aners beating the US military, good video though.
